ODESSA -- Ben M. Bowen, 77, of Midland, died Tuesday, March 3, 1998, at his residence.

Arrangements are pending with Odessa Funeral Home Angeles Memorial Chapel.

Janet Pinkston

CRANE -- Janet Ann Pinkston, 49, of Crane, died Tuesday, March 3, 1998, at a Midland hospital.

Arrangements are pending with Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home.

Cager Walker

ANDREWS -- Cager Walker, 80, of Andrews, died Tuesday, March 3, 1998, at Permian General Hospital.

Services are pending with McNett Funeral Home.

Doyle Curtis

ABILENE -- Doyle Curtis Conley, 68, of Abilene, co-owner of Conley Real Estate, died Saturday at a local hospital.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Hillcrest Church of Christ with Ted Kell and Bob Crass officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill cemetery in Merkel. Arrangements by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Homes.

He was born in Henderson and lived in Fort Stockton for 21 years and had lived in Abilene since 1991. He was a member of the Church of Christ.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Delores J. "BootsieConley of Abilene; daughter, Jeanette Conley Campbell of Odessa; sons, Steve Conley of Abilene, Stan Conley of Midland; mother, Leona Conley of Merkel; and seven grandchildren.

Foy Perkins

WHEELER -- Foy Roy Perkins, 81, of Wheeler, a retired farm supply store operator, died Sunday, March 1, 1998, in Amarillo.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. today at the Church of Christ with Bill Morrison officiating. Burial will be at Hillcrest cemetery. Arrangements by Wright Funeral Home.

He was born in Hollis, Okla., and moved to Wheeler in 1988. He was a member of the Church of Christ.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Joyce Perkins of Wheeler; daughter, Bertha "LucyBerry of Seminole; son, Wayne "ButchPerkins of Odessa; sisters, Opal Dee Kiapianen of Grand Junction, Colo., Jane Harkrider of Dumas; brother, Lloyd Perkins of Hollis, Okla.; four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, four step-daughters, two step-sons, and 12 step-grandchildren.

Virginia Proctor

ODESSA -- Virginia Lee "GingerProctor, 70, of Robert Lee, a homemaker, died Saturday, Feb. 28, 1998, at Shannon West Texas Memorial Hospital in San Angelo.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Hubbard-Kelly Chapel with the Rev. J.E. McCormick officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

She was born in Greenwood, Okla., and was a Baptist.

SURVIVORS: Husband, R.D. Proctor of Robert Lee; sons, Steve Sandefur of Odessa, Larry Sandefur of Amarillo, David Proctor of Ruidoso, N.M.; daughters, Marcia McCormick of Pecos, Rebecca Hopson of Robert Lee, Ronnie Dennis of Carlsbad, N.M.; brothers, Vernon Bowen of Tennessee, Roy Bowen of Gig Harbor, Wash., Bob Mixon of Amarillo; sisters, Joy Pogue of Phoenix City, Ala., Dorothy Bowen of Chamblee, Ga., Wilma Walker of Texarkana; sister, Peggy Bowen of Gig Harbor, Wash., Francesa Wilkinson of Trent; 16 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Rupert Stephens

ODESSA -- Rupert "SmokyStephens, 71, of Odessa, a retired tool pusher, died Monday, March 2, 1998, at his residence.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Rose Hill cemetery. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

He was born in Frankell and moved to Odessa from Andrews. He was a veteran of the Marine Corps.

SURVIVORS: Daughters, Toney Linder of Odessa, Tammie Colbath of Odessa; sons, Bobby Stephens of Odessa, Billy Stephens of Austin, David Stephens of Odessa; Rupert Stephens II of Odessa; 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Maria Ureste

FORT STOCKTON -- Maria D. Ureste, 45, of Fort Stockton, a nurse's aide, died Sunday, March 1, 1998, at Medical Center Hospital.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be at East Hill cemetery. Arrangements by Fort Stockton Funeral Home.

She was born in Boquillas, Mexico, and had been a resident of Fort Stockton for 19 years. She was member of the Jehovah's Witness Kingdom Hall.

SURVIVORS: Mother, Maria de La Luz Tapia of Fort Stockton; son, Pedro Ureste of Fort Stockton; daughter, Amabilia Ureste of Fort Stockton; brother, George Chavez Tapia of Boquillas, Mexico; sisters, Maria De La Luz Tapia of Boquillas, Mexico, and Manuela Chavez Tapia of Muzquiz, Mexico.

Mildred Carrell

ODESSA -- Mildred L. Carrell, 86, a homemaker, died Saturday, Feb. 28, 1998, at Medical Center Hospital.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Luke's United Methodist Church with the Rev. Kevin Strempke officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements made by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.

She was born in Cooper. She had lived in Odessa 11 years.

SURVIVORS: Daughters, Ann Carrell of Odessa and Katherine Barth of Mabank; son, H.L. Carrell of Roslyn, Pa.; brother, James W. Patterson of Lubbock and sisters, Nanelle Ahern of Albuquerque and Lorena Wellborn of Scorro, N.M.

Abelardo Davila

ODESSA -- Abelardo Davila Sr., 47, a construction worker, died Saturday, Feb. 28, 1998.

Rosary will be said at 7:30 tonight at Martinez Funeral Home. Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church with the Rev. David Herrera officiating. Arrangements made by Martinez Funeral Home.

He was born in Monahans.

SURVIVORS: Son, Abelardo Davila Jr. of Odessa; daughter, Andrea Davila of Odessa; mother, Maria C. Davila of Odessa; brothers, Gilbert Davila Jr. of Midland and Juan E. Davila of Odessa; sisters, Alvesa Gonzalez and Julia "MilliePalma of Odessa and six grandchildren.

Ethel Denny

ANDREWS -- Ethel Denny, 92, died Saturday, Feb. 28, 1998, at the Midland Rose Garden Nursing Home.

Services will be at 11 a.m. today at the First Baptist Church Chapel in Andrews with the Rev. Bob Porterfield officiating. A private interment service will preceed the memorial service at the church. Burial will be at the Andrews Old cemetery. Arrangements made by McNett Funeral Home.

She was born in Oologah, Okla. She was Baptist.

SURVIVORS: Son, Douglas "BobLuck of Midland; step-son, Leroy Denny of Andrews; step-daughter, Betty Ann Bishop of Oklahoma City; sisters, Ann Seay of Kansas City, Mo., and Nettie Hardick of Denver; nine grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Verna Liebau

ANDREWS -- Verna Mae Russell Liebau, 80, died Sunday, March 1, 1998, at Polo Park Estates in Midland.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church Chapel in Andrews with the Rev. H.A. Hanks officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements made by McNett Funeral Home.

She was born in Grenola, Kan., and was Baptist.

SURVIVORS: Daughters, Joyce Ogburn of Queen City and Ann Zugg of Andrews; brothers, Gerald Elsheimer and Kenneth Elsheimer, both of Pampa; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
