Ashton Paul Maldonado
ODESSA — Ashton Paul Maldonado, of Odessa, passed away Saturday, Feb. 14, 2004, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 19, in Sunset Memorial Chapel with David Adkins officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Ashton was born on Sept. 26, 2003, in Odessa to James and Nicole Maldonado. He is survived by his parents, James and Nicole of Odessa; three brothers, Logan, Cameron and Aaron Maldonado, all of Odessa; grandparents, Oscar and Sue Maldonado of Odessa, Kent and Kathy Woodard of Abilene, and Austin and Erin Fulfur of Odessa; great-grandparents, Lupe Maldonado of El Paso, Pauline Dominey of Odessa, Gene and Margaret Woodard of Taft, and Arlie and Laura Jones of Odessa.
The family will receive visitors at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home on Thursday morning from 10 a.m. to noon.

Daisy Vera McCoy
ODESSA — Daisy Vera McCoy, 96, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 14, 2004, at Seminole Memorial Hospital. She was born on Jan. 21, 1908, in Paint Rock, Texas, to John and Ethel Brown.
She married
Tom McCoy in Abilene. To this union, eight children were born. They lived in San Angelo for 22 years before coming to Odessa. She was a waitress for 70 years, 25 of them at the Sands Restaurant. She was a member of First Methodist Church of Odell and member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. She loved Loretta Lynn, Earnest Tubbs and George Strait. Her favorite TV shows to watch included “Wheel of Fortune” and “Who wants to be a Millionaire.”
To her friends and family was fondly remembered as “Granny Mc.” She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom McCoy, two daughters and one son.
Surviving are sons, Tommy Joe McCoy and wife, Pat, of Seminole, Marion Mann McCoy of Seminole, Jerry Haney and wife, Janie Faye McCoy, of North Richland Hills, Robert Gene McCoy and wife, Donna, of Streetman; daughter, Ethel (Jet) Parks and husband, Dennis, of Odessa; brothers, Norris Brown of Monvia, Calif., Hite Brown of San Angelo; sister, Donna Landers of San Angelo; 26 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at Odessa Funeral Home. Funeral services have been set for 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2004, at Odessa Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Jimmy Braswell officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
The family suggests memorials to the Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch.

Helen Maxine Tacker
ODESSA — Helen Maxine Tacker passed away after a long and valiant struggle with emphysema on Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2004, at the Hospice House.
Maxine was born on Dec. 7, 1931, in Adamsville, Tenn., to Ester and Harmel Wilkins. She attended high school in Marked Tree, Ark., and business school in Little Rock, Ark. She worked in the cotton industry until she met the man she would marry.
On March 3, 1953, Maxine and George E. Tacker were married
in Lepanto, Ark. They lived in Ypsilanti, Mich., for 15 years, moved to Marked Tree, Ark., then to Yazoo City, Miss. They settled in Odessa in 1974 where Maxine worked 15 years for Gibsons and 15 years as a Wal-Mart associate.
She was active in both Girl and Boy Scouting with her children and husband. She was a member of Parkview Church of Christ and a strong advocate for the Children’s Miracle Network.
She is survived by her husband of almost 51 years, George E. Tacker of Odessa; son, Robert E. Tacker and wife, Connie; daughters, Kay L. Warner and Debra Wheeler; brother, Joe R. Wilkins; grandchildren, Penny L. Warner, Brian and Katy Warner, Kristy Tacker, Lisa Tacker, Austin Tacker; and great-grandchild, Kade Carlile, all of Odessa.
The family will receive visitors from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 20, 2004, at the Parkview Church of Christ. Charles Jones and Dennis Dillon will officiate.
Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Hospice House, Odessa Christian School, the American Lung Association or American Heart Association.
The family extends its heartfelt thanks to the many caring hands at Medical Center Hospital, Dr. Dan Hendrickson, the compassionate staff of Hospice House, Dr. Sudhir Amaram and the multitude of friends and family who supported her these many years during her battles with heart and lung disease.

Eileen Hazel Thomas
ODESSA — Mrs. Eileen Hazel Thomas, 63, of Odessa passed away Monday, Feb. 16, 2004, at the Home Hospice House in Odessa. She was a homemaker.
Eileen was born on May 12, 1940, in San Jose, Calif., to the parentage of Mele and Petra Santiago.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Brenda Thomas.
Survivors include her husband, Tommy Wayne Thomas of Odessa; brothers, Ray and George Santiago of Santa Clara, Calif., and Herb and Melvin Santiago of San Jose, Calif.; sisters, Helen Walker of San Jose, Calif., and Dolores Zweigle of Jamestown, Calif.
Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2004, at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Father Michael Udegbunam officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Services are under the direction of Martinez Funeral Home.
Bruce Eugene Wells
HEBER SPRINGS, Ark. — Mr. Bruce Eugene Wells, 69, of Higden, Ark., passed away at his home Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2004. Born in Pampa, Texas, on Nov. 9, 1934, he was the son of the late Bruce and Ray (Swafford) Wells.
Mr. Wells graduated from Crane High School in 1953 and moved to Rangely, Colo., in 1954. He was an independent oil driller and the owner of B.E. Wells Service in Colorado. He had been a resident of Fairfield Bay since 1999 and had recently moved to Higden.
Mr. Wells was an antique collector and a coin collector. He was a member of the Jaycees in Colorado. His religious belief was Methodist.
Survivors include four daughters, Nakina Gray and her husband, Arlis, of Fairfield Bay, Ark., Darcy Allen of Dinosaur, Colo., Angie Innes and her husband, Keith, of Midland and Melissa Ward and her husband, Rick, of Fairfield Bay, Ark.; two sisters, Norma Arnold and her husband, Marvin, of Odessa and Sherra Nell Titus of Longview; 10 grandchildren, Chris Wells, Nicole Bates, Farra Edwards, Natalie Allen, Bo Allen, Joshua Allen, Jason Innes, Jessica Innes, Cassie Ward and Cory Ward; and six great-grandchildren. Mr. Wells is also survived by other relatives and his many friends.
Daphna ‘Debbie’ Doss
ODESSA — Daphna “Debbie” Doss was born on Jan. 12, 1929, in Poteau, Okla., to Arthur and Rosie Hill. Ms Doss passed away on March 5, 2004, at Regency Hospital in Odessa. She was 75.
Debbie married
Marvin Lee Doss on Oct. 24, 1952. They shared 49 years together before his death in 2001. Debbie was a retired office administrator for Cummins Diesel. She attended Central Baptist Church.
Her husband, Marvin Lee Doss, precedes her in death.
She is survived by her son, David Doss of Leander, Texas; daughter, Rebecca Burrows of Irving, Texas; sister, Maxine Phillips Thacker of Tehachapi, Calif.; and grandson, Drew Doss, also of Leander.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday March 9, 2004, at Sunset Memorial Gardens cemetery with the Rev Mark Scott officiating.
Mother, you were always the Rock of Gibraltar of this family. You were our best friend, confidant, lecturer, philosopher and our mother, all rolled into one. Your kindness and generosity will be missed not only by us, but by anyone you have called a friend. We couldn’t have handpicked a better mother or role model. God blessed the both of us by letting us be your children and by letting you be our mother. We will always love and miss you. Love, your children.

Julie Diane Holland
ODESSA — Julie Diane Holland, 44, of Odessa, went to be with our Lord on Wednesday, March 3, 2004, in Odessa.
She was born Oct. 22, 1959, in Henderson, Ky. She was the second of five children.
She is survived by her father, Robert Holland Sr. of Odessa; mother, Verna Sigler of Evansville, Ind; daughter, Nicole Diane Holland-Bowley and husband Todd of Robards, Ky.; granddaughter, Kaitlyn Bowley also of Robards; brother, Robert D. Holland Jr. of Corydon, Ky.; sisters, Natalie Alves and husband Bob of Mount Vernon, Ind., Terri Holland of Odessa and Connie Holland-Phelps and husband David of Odessa; honorary sister, Kandy “Lou” Anderson and husband Mark of Odessa; four nephews and five nieces; many aunts, uncles and cousins as well as friends.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 8, 2004, at the Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors Chapel with the Rev. Clydel Chapman officiating.

Fannie Loretta Robinson
ODESSA — Fannie Loretta Robinson, 79, of Odessa, was led into heaven Friday, March 5, 2004 by her husband of 55 years and three of her children.
Born Dec. 9, 1924, in Council Grove, Kan., to Roy Dutton and Mary Morris. She married
Fitzhugh Lee Robinson Oct. 21, 1941, in Kansas. They moved to Odessa in 1960 where they owned and operated several furniture stores. Mrs. Robinson was a member of Temple Baptist Church.
Preceding her in death were her parents; and husband, Fritz; a daughter, Debra Faith; two sons, Michael and Morris; and eight brothers and sisters.
Mrs. Robinson is survived by two daughters, Loretta King of Hobbs, N.M., and Sandra Bailey of Odessa; five grandchildren, Keith King, Kyle King, Michelle Musick, Melissa Dunlap and Amos Humphries; six great-grandchildren; and one brother, Tom Dutton of Kansas.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Sunset Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home with Pastor Johnny Thomason officiating.

Frank C. Martin
WINNSBORO — Mr. Martin passed away on Dec. 18, 2003, in a Tyler hospital.
Burial was in Lee cemetery in Winnsboro on Dec. 20th. He was born on March 14, 1923, in Pittsburg, Texas, to the late Franklin Christopher and Thelma Lee Stewart Martin.
He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a 50-year resident of Odessa. He retired from El Paso Products.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Norma Jean Bryce Martin; and sister, Fayrene White.
Survivors include his wife of 10 years, Wanda Jo Anderson Martin of Winnsboro; son, Sammy Martin of Newark; daughters, Cathy Smith of Arlington and Linda Richard of Round Rock; stepdaughters, Paula Irby of Pickton and Rita Bowen of Hallsville; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
