KERMIT -- Martha Thompson, 71, of Kermit, a homemaker, died Wednesday, Feb. 25, 1998, at her residence.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Eastside Church of Christ with Jodie Garrett officiating. Burial will be at Kermit cemetery. Arrangements by Cooper Funeral Chapel Inc.

She was born in Brownfield and was a resident of Kermit for 34 years.

SURVIVORS: Husband, Jeff Thompson of Kermit; son, Don Thompson of Kermit; daughters, Rebecca Jones of San Antonio, Ida Beth Armstrong of Odessa, Emily McElveen of Crane; sister, Ruby Lawson of Sinton; and eight grandchidlren.

Emma Rushing

ODESSA -- Emma Rushing, 64, of Odessa, died Wednesday, Feb. 25, 1998, at Memorial Hospital and Medical Center in Midland.

Services are pending with Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

Sara Murray

ODESSA -- Sara Murray, 51, of Odessa died Sunday, Feb. 22, 1998, at Medical Center Hospital.

Rosary was said Tuesday at Odessa Funeral Home. Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. today at St. Mary's Catholic Church with the Rev. Francis Frey officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Odessa Funeral Home Angeles Memorial Chapel.

She was born in Villa de Fuente, Mexico, and was an Army veteran.

SURVIVORS: Sons, Robert Murray of Odessa and Michael J. Murray of Yokosuka, Japan; daughters, Anne M. Murray of Lubbock and Sara Ortega of Odessa; brothers, Manuel Sanchez of Uvalde and Luis Sanchez of Eagle Pass; sisters, Victoriana Lopez and Amada Sanchez, both of Eagle Pass, Antonia Segura of Villa de Fuente, Mexico, Martina Sanchez of San Antonio, Juanita Navarro of Kerrville; and four grandchildren.

Destiny Roe

ODESSA -- Destiny Shyann Roe, infant daughter of Billy and Lacy Roe of Odessa, died Monday, Feb. 23, 1998, at Cook's Childrens Hospital in Fort Worth.

Graveside services will be held at noon Thursday at Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Rev. C.E. Shuffield officiating. Arrangments by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

She was born Jan. 28 in Odessa.

SURVIVORS: Parents; brother, Brandon Jack Roe of Odessa; grandfathers, Roy Permenter and Joseph Boyd Roe, both of Odessa; grandmothers, Linda Coffman and Sandy Roe, both of Odessa, Jacquelyn Stirman of Albuquerque, N.M.; and great-grandmother, Louise Stirman of Loma Linda, Calif.

ODESSA -- John Blake, 62, of Odessa died Tuesday, Feb. 24, 1998, at Medical Center Hospital.

ABILENE -- Jaunita B. Cox Dodson, 77, of Abilene, a retired employee of the Abilene State School, died Saturday, Feb. 21, 1998, in Odessa.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. today at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Memories with Bob Connell officiating. Burial will be at Clyde cemetery. Arrangements by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Homes. She was born in Lewisville, Ark. and moved to Abilene from Odessa in 1970. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
SURVIVORS: Son, Cleadith "CleteDodson of Abilene; daughters, Gladys Stanley of Odessa, Dianna Roberts of Abilene; brothers, W.C. Henry of Texarkana, John L. Cox and Murray Cox, both of Lewisville, Ark., Lon Cox Jr. of Garland, Dallas Clinton "CowboyCox of Bronte; sisters, Elvira Fane of Stamps, Ark., Cora Poenisch of Saratoga, Ark., Frances Shipp and Dorette Forsyth, both of Texarkana; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

ODESSA -- Ray Shaffner, 57, of Odessa, died Monday, Feb. 23, 1998, at his residence.
Services are pending with Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.

Quinon H. Reid

COAHOMA -- Quinon H. Reid, 78, of Coahoma, died on Saturday, Feb. 21, 1998 in a local hospital.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Coahoma Church of Christ with Russell Mullins officiating. Burial with full military rites will follow at Coahoma cemetery. Arrangements under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.

He was born in Hayden, Ariz. and lived most of his life in Coahoma. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a former prisoner of war. He worked for Texas Electric for more than 30 years and served on the Coahoma School Board.

SURVIVORS: Son, Ronnie Reid of Coahoma; daughter Quinett Jones of Odessa; sisters, Mildred Menser of Coahoma and Sandra Duenzl of Weatherford; brother, Wallace Reid of Coahoma, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials to the American Heart Association, Howard County Division, P.O. Box 1223, Big Spring, Texas or the Coahoma Church of Christ.

Modell Sinclair

ODESSA -- Modell Sinclair, 76, of Odessa died Saturday, Feb. 21, 1998 at Medical Center Hospital.

Services wil be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Rosehill cemetery with Paul Smith officiating. Burial will be at Rosehill cemetery. Arrangements by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.

She was born in Wolfe City and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Church of Christ.

SURVIVORS: Husband, Leonard Sinclair of Odessa; son Leo Sinclair of Hernando, Miss.; brother, Leo Powell of Lovington, N.M.; three grandchildren.

Boyd Miller

ODESSA -- Boyd George Miller, 89, of Odessa, a retired Haliburton employee, died Friday, Feb. 20, 1998, at Medical Center Hospital.

Services will be held at 7 p.m. Monday at the Odessa Funeral Home Angeles Memorial Chapel. Arrangements by Odessa Funeral Home.

He was born in Missouri.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Bettie D. Miller of Odessa; brothers, Rollie Miller of Marietta, Ga., and Richard Miller of Oritero, Calif.

J.R. Blackmon

SEMINOLE -- J.R. "SandyBlackmon, 76, of Cedar Creek Lake, formerly of Seminole, died Friday, Feb. 20, 1998 at his home.

Services will be held at 2 p.m., Monday at Trinity Baptist Church in Seminole with Rev. Randy Bush officiating. Arrangements by Boyer Funeral Home.

He was born in Lamesa. He had moved to Cedar Creek Lake in 1987 and had been a lifelong resident of Seminole before moving. He was Baptist.

SURVIVORS: Sons, Buford Blackmon, of Gun Barrel City, Texas, Eugene Blackmon of Seminole and Roy Blackmon of Monahans; daughters, Juanita Blake of Morton, Sandra King of Kemp and Martha Hadden of Ballinger; brother L.M. "ShortyBlackmon of Seminole; 20 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren.
