Mass will be at 2 p.m. today at Santa Rosa Catholic Church with the Rev. Gustavo Lopez officiating. A rosary was said Sunday. Burial will be at Greenwood cemetery. Arrangements are by Peaceful Gardens Funeral Home.
He was born in Pecos. He was Catholic.
SURVIVORS: Son, Ruben Pando III of Monahans; parents, Lelia and Alvaro Alvarez of Monahans and Ruben Pando Sr. of Ojinaga, Mexico; brother, Jason Alvarez of Odessa; sisters, Heather Guebar and Stacy Underwood, both of Gilbert, Ariz.; grandparent, Guillermo Guebara of Pecos.

Teresa Portillo
ALPINE - Teresa Cobos Portillo, 93, of El Paso, a homemaker, died Thursday, Jan. 8, 2004, at her home.
Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. today at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church with the Rev. Mike Alcuino officiating. A rosary was said Sunday. Burial will be at Holy Angels cemetery. Arrangements are by Geeslin Funeral Home.
She was born in Alpine. She was Catholic.
SURVIVORS: Daughters, Isabel Portillo of El Paso, Elma Schodts of Grand Prairie, Berta Garcia of Monahans and Julia Monclova and Gloria Gallego, both of Alpine; sons, Luis Portillo of Chaparral, N.M., David Portillo of El Paso, Jesus “Chuy” Portillo of Las Cruces, N.M., and Jose Portillo and Armando Portillo, both of Monahans; 34 grandchildren; 62 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

ODESSA - Joe M. Ramirez, 64, of Odessa, died Friday, Jan. 9, 2004, at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa.
Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. Joseph Eucker officiating. A rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today at Martinez Funeral Home. Arrangements are by Martinez Funeral Home.
He was born in Florence. He was Catholic.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Felicia Ramirez of Odessa; daughters, Peggy Wills, Rebecca Ramirez and Connie Luna, all of Georgetown, and Nancy Flores, Christie Ramirez and Lily Ramirez, all of Odessa; sisters, Josefina Ramirez and Margaret Miranda, both of Georgetown, and Isabel Zuniga of Leander; 13 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was born in Alpine.

Jasso, all of Midland; brothers, Edward Hernandez of El Paso, Manuel Hernandez of Fort Stockton and David Hernandez of Andrews; sisters, Josephina Valenzuela of Alpine, Cecilia Hernandez of Keyna, Africa, and Aida Carrasco of Midland; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Kimberly Turner
ODESSA - Kimberly Dawn Turner, 16, a student, died Saturday, Jan. 10, 2004, at Medical Center Hospital.
Services will be at 4 p.m. Thursday at Immanuel Baptist Church with the Revs. Mark Riley, Brian Swiggart and Don Fankhauser officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
She was born in Midland. She was Baptist. She was the granddaughter of the late Joe White of Odessa.
SURVIVORS: Mother and stepfather, Carol and Mark Johnson of Odessa; father, Donnie Turner of Clovis, N.M.; grandparents, Lois White of Odessa and Sid and Loretta Turner of Clovis and Bill and Eddie Johnson of Odessa; half-brother, Jeremy Turner of Clovis; stepbrother, Cole Johnson of Odessa; half-sister, Jennifer Wheeler of Clovis; stepsister, Stevie Johnson of Odessa.

He was born in San Antonio del Bravo, Chihuahua, Mexico. He was Catholic.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Maria B. Valeriano of Pecos; sons, Jose B. Valeriano of Grand Prairie, Efrain B. Valeriano of Irving, Saul B. Valeriano and Artemio B. Valeriano, both of Pecos, and Humberto B. Valeriano of Alamogordo, N.M.; brothers, Hector Valeriano, Gregorio Valeriano and Pedro Valeriano, all of Pecos, and Jesus S. She was born in Bolsa Cemada and was a longtime resident of Pecos.

FORT STOCKTON - Ben Peeler, 77, of Fort Stockton, a retired employee of the Texas Department of Human Resources and former sports reporter for the Odessa American, died Friday, March 5, 2004, in Fort Stockton.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at First Christian Church with the Rev. Ernie Waggoner officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Laurel Land cemetery in Dallas. Arrangements are by Fort Stockton Funeral Home.
He was born in Dallas. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of First Christian Church.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Juanita Peeler of Fort Stockton.

G.B. Pilgrim
ANDREWS - G.B. Pilgrim, 89, of Longmont, Colo., and formerly of Andrews, a retired pumper for Texaco, died Thursday, March 4, 2004, in Boulder, Colo.
Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at McNett Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jeff Donnell officiating. Burial will be at the Andrews West cemetery. Arrangements are by McNett Funeral Home.
He was born in Mineral Wells and moved to Andrews in 1945. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of First Baptist Church.
SURVIVORS: Son, Jerry E. Pilgrim of Boulder, Colo.; daughter, Ann Mayes of Green Valley, Ariz.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

ALPINE - Jose Luis Victorino Urias, 18, of Alpine died Wednesday, March 3, 2004, in Presidio County.
