ODESSA — Jessica Joann Lucas, 25, of Odessa, a homemaker, died Thursday, Feb. 5, 2004, in Odessa.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Rose Hill cemetery with the Rev. Jimmy Braswell officiating. Arrangements are by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
She was born in Ector County. She was Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Son, Jordon Alvarez Merritt of Odessa; daughter, Summer Dawn Alvarez of Odessa; parents, Rocky Lucas and Mary Alvarez, both of Odessa; stepfather, Ron Rickman; brothers, Tommy Allred of Odessa and David M. Wright of Balmorhea; sister, Christina Perkins Kirk of Georgia; grandparents, Charlie Culpepper of Odessa and Endia Alvarez of Balmorhea.

Rosa Swain
ODESSA — Rosa Lee Swain, 70, of Odessa, a homemaker, died Thursday, Feb. 5, 2004, in San Angelo.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Rose of Sharon Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. J.W. Hanson officiating. Burial will follow in the Ector County cemetery. Arrangements are by Martinez Funeral Home.
She was born in Gonzales.
SURVIVORS: Son, Chauncey Swain Sr. of San Angelo; daughters, Felecia Crook Jackson Murphy and Fonda Swain-Morris, both of San Angelo, and Cassandra Swain-Carr of Clairton, Penn.

ODESSA — Jesse Fierro Martinez, 83, died Saturday, Feb. 7, 2004, at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa.
Services are pending with Martinez Funeral Home.

Abraham Friesen
SEMINOLE — Abraham ‘Honest Abe’ Friesen, 53, of Seminole died Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2004, at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Gospel Mennonite Church with the Revs. David Klassen and Martin Kehler officiating. Burial will be at the Gaines County cemetery South. Arrangements are by Boyer Funeral Home.
He was born in Mexico. He was a member of the EMMC Church.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Katharena Friesen of Seminole; sons, Wesley John Friesen and Randy Abraham Friesen, both of Seminole; brothers, Peter Friesen and Jacob Friesen, both of Mexico, Neil Friesen of Seminole, Issiak Friesen, John Friesen and Frank Friesen, all of Canada, and Bill Friesen of Paraqua, South America; sisters, Katharena Wiebe, Anna Wiebe and Agatha Wiebe, all of Mexico; one grandchild; and eight grandchildren.

ODESSA — Helen R. Garner, 80, of Odessa, a church secretary, died Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2004, at the Hospice House.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the 6th and Jackson Church of Christ with Roy Smalling and Larry Roberts officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
She was born in Sanderson. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
SURVIVORS: Son, Richard Garner of Odessa; daughter, Kay Robbins of Abilene; brothers, J. M. Harrell of Abilene and Jack Harrell of Sanderson; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

John Garrison
IRAAN — John M. Garrison, 81, of Iraan, a self-employed hair-stylist, died Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2004, at Pecos County Hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church in Iraan with the Rev. Mike Wright officiating. Burial will be at Restland cemetery. Arrangements are by Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home.
He was born in Midian, Kan. He was a Army veteran and a Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Sisters, Macie Harvey of Iraan and Betty Davis of Snyder.

Mary Havens
ANDREWS — Mary Pipes Havens, 99, of Longview died Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2004, at a nursing home in Longview.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at McNett Funeral Home Chapel in Andrews with Maroline Smith officiating. Burial will be at the Andrews Old cemetery. Arrangements are by McNett Funeral Home.
She was born in Thurber and lived in Andrews for many years. She was Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Sons, William O. Havens of Longview and John Dean Havens of Lumberton; daughter, Maroline Smith of Foreman, Ark.; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Laverne Jones
MONAHANS — Laverne Jones, 77, of Monahans, a homemaker, died Monday, Feb. 23, 2004, at the Hospice House in Odessa.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Immanuel Baptist Church. Burial will be at Monahans Memorial cemetery. Arrangements are by Heritage Funeral Home.
She was born in Crosbyton. She was Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Son, Garlon Jones of Perryton; daughters, LaJuana Thames of Kermit, Jayne Grametbaur and Doronna Langston, both of Odessa; brother, Charles Love of Leander; 14 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

ODESSA — August DeAnda Chavez, 31, of Tucson, Ariz., died Saturday, Feb. 21, 2004, in Tucson.

SPERRY, Okla. — Rosie Marie Coombes, 83, of Hobbs, N.M., died Friday, Jan. 16, 2004, in Hobbs.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Cornerstone Free Will Baptist Church with the Rev. Jim Holcom officiating. Burial will follow at Sperry cemetery. Arrangements are by Calvary Memorial Funeral Home in Hobbs and Johnson Funeral Home in Sperry.

ODESSA — Dee Addison McDaniel Jr., 82, of Odessa, a field superintendent, died Thursday, January 15, 2004, at Medical Center Hospital.

He was born in Iowa Park, Texas. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. He was Methodist.
