BIG SPRING — Denver Heffington, 92, of Big Spring, a farmer and owner of a garage and a grocery store, died Tuesday, March 9, 2004, at Seton Highland Lakes Medical Center in Burnet.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mount Olive Memorial Park with the Rev. Herb McPherson officiating. Arrangements are by Myers & Smith Funeral Home.
He was born in Howard County. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
SURVIVORS: Daughters, Donna Earhart and Saundra Webb, both of Tow, and Dorothy Carter and Shirley Slate, both of Big Spring; sons, Denver Heffington and Dennis Heffington, both of Tow, and Bennie Heffington of Odessa; sister, Charlotte Gilbert of Big Spring; 32 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Luis Lopez
SEMINOLE — Luis Manuel Lopez, 13, of Seminole, died Tuesday, March 9, 2004, at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Gaines County Civic Center in Seminole with Joel Melendez officiating. Burial will be at the Gaines County cemetery South. Arrangements are by Boyer Funeral Home.
He was born in Seminole. He was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness in Hobbs, N.M.
SURVIVORS: Parents, Ernesto and Luz ‘Lucy’ Lopez of Seminole; brother, Daniel Lopez of Seminole; sister, Nancy Lopez of Seminole; and grandparents, Agustine and Maria Lopez of Mexico and Elijandro and Criselde Morales of Lubbock.

Lee Sanders
NEDERLAND — Lee Bryant Sanders, 52, of Nederland, died Monday, March 8, 2004, at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Pat A. Riley Funeral Home with Dr. David Higgs officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. at Guidry cemetery in Batson, Texas. Arrangements are by Pat A. Riley Funeral Home of Nederland.
He was born in Nederland. He was a member of First Baptist Church.
SURVIVORS: Nieces Lynette Howerton, Regina Williams and Sheila Gillespie; two aunts; and numerous cousins.

William Smith
ODESSA — William Durwood Smith, 78, of Pilot Point, a retired postal carrier, died Wednesday, March 10, 2004, at Denton Community Hospital.
Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. today at the Odessa cemetery with Luther Slay officiating. Arrangements are by Slay Memorial Funeral Center in Aubrey.
He was born in Throckmorton. He was an Army veteran.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Kathleen Smith of Pilot Point; brother, Ben Smith of Denton; and a sister, Peggy Moore of Humble.

ODESSA — Coleete Brown, 92, of Odessa, died Wednesday, March 10, 2004, at the Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock.
Services are pending with Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

Willean Brown
ODESSA — Willean E. Brown, 67, of Odessa, a homemaker, died Wednesday, March 10, 2004, at Medical Center Hospital.
Services are pending with Martinez Funeral Home.

Christine Brown
ODESSA — Christine Brown, 86, of Odessa, a homemaker, died Wednesday, March 3, 2004, at Avalon Place.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Gary Groves officiating. Arrangements are by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
She was born in Batson.
SURVIVOR: Son, Gerry Edney of Midland.

Frank Caudle
ODESSA — Frank ‘Abe’ Caudle, 82, a retired oil field manager for National Supply, died Tuesday, March 2, 2004, at Medical Center Hospital.
Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church with the Rev. David Messbarger officiating. Arrangements are by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
He was born in Santa Ana. He was Episcopalian.
SURVIVORS: Son, John Caudle of Colleyville; daughter, Brenda Rush of Amarillo; sister, Nona Scott of Midland; and four grandchildren.

Johnny Herbold
MONAHANS — Johnny Herbold, 76, of Monahans, a retired consultant in the oil and gas industry, died Tuesday, March 2, 2004, at his residence.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. William McReynolds officiating. Burial will be at Monahans Memorial cemetery. Arrangements are by Family Funeral Services/ Jackie Harkey.
He was born in Artesia, N.M.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Pat Herbold of Monahans; sons, Frank Herbold and Steve Herbold, both of Monahans; daughter, Diana Davenport of Port Lavaca; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Ruth Latham
BRECKENRIDGE — Ruth E. Latham, 87, formerly of Breckenridge, an insurance salesperson for Modern Woodmen, died Tuesday, March 2, 2004, at a Weatherford nursing home.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Morehart Mortuary Chapel with Jim Cox officiating. Burial will follow in the Hart cemetery. Arrangements are by Morehart Mortuary.
She was born in Throckmorton.
SURVIVORS: Daughter, Shirley Hoover of Weatherford; son, W.C. Latham of Odessa; brother, Lloyd Wester of Fort Worth; sister, Beulah Clark of Weatherford; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Lynn McCormick
ODESSA — Lynn McCormick, 90, of Odessa, a former surveyor for the government in Idaho, died Sunday, Feb. 29, 2004, at Avalon Place.
Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Temple Baptist Church with the Rev. Johnny Thomason officiating. Arrangements are by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
She was born in Poteau, Okla. She was Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Sister, Opal Neely of Bakersfield, Calif.

Emma Montez
MIDLAND — Emma Morales Montez, 76, secretary of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and director of the La Florecita Day Care Center, of Midland, died Monday, March 1, 2004.
Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today at Ellis Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with the Rev. Ray Wilhelm officiating. Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Park. Arrangements are by Ellis Funeral Home.
She was born in Fort Stockton. She was Catholic.
SURVIVORS: Husband, Sal M. Montez of Midland; sons, Tony Montez and Richard Montez, both of Dallas, and Edward Montez of Midland; daughters, Diane Montez of Abilene and Tina Bernal of Austin; brothers, Frank Morales Jr. and Eloe Morales, both of El Paso; sister, Marcela Hall of Bodfish, Calif.; and 10 grandchildren.

ODESSA — Dorothy Mae Pledge, 81, of Odessa, a retired schoolteacher, died Sunday, Feb. 29, 2004, at Regency Hospital.
Wake services will be at 6 p.m. Friday at Martinez Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. E. M. Fleming officiating. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Greenleaf cemetery in Brownwood with the Revs. J. Turner and H. Lewis officiating. Arrangements are by Martinez Funeral Home.
She was born in Hutto. She was Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Sisters, Maude Lucas of Odessa and Emma Glenn of West Covina, Calif.

Manuel Rivera Sr.
ODESSA — Manuel Rivera Sr., 66, of Odessa, owner and operator of the Kermit Drive Inn, died Tuesday, March 2, 2004, at Medical Center Hospital.
Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Friday at Odessa Funeral Home Chapel. Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church with the Rev. Mark Woodruff officiating, Burial will be at the Kermit cemetery in Kermit. Arrangements are by Odessa Funeral Home.
He was born in Kent, Texas.
SURVIVORS: Wife; Eleanor L. Rivera of Odessa; sons, Manuel L. Rivera Jr., Eddie L. Rivera and Lee Roy Rivera, all of Odessa, and Ruben L.
