E.C. ‘Bo’ Bohannan
BIG SPRING — E. C. “Bo” Bohannan, 73, of Colorado City died Sunday, March 14, 2004, at the Lamun-Lusk-Sanchez Texas Veterans Home.
Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 16, 2004, at the Colorado City cemetery with Rev. Walter McCall, chaplain for Odyssey Hospice, officiating.
Mr. Bohannan was born on May 10, 1920, in Weatherford and married
Rosie Lois Richards on December 21, 1938, in Benjamin. “Bo” had worked in the oilfields. He was a Baptist and a member of the Gideons. He had served in the United States Navy from 1944 to 1946.
Survivors include his wife, Rosie Lois Bohannan of Colorado City; one son and daughter-in-law, Michael E. and Linda Bohannan of Odessa; two daughters and one son-in-law, Vickie Spray of Colorado City and Rosann and Ken Allen of Rockport; five grandchildren, Johnny Dale Stallings of Rockport, Robert Stallings of Portland, Tammy Spray of Colorado City, Danie Spray and wife, Toni, of Lubbock, and Michael S. Bohannan and wife, Nancy, of Odessa; and two great-grandchildren, Autumn and Adrianne Bohannan.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

Adam B. Galindo
ODESSA — Adam B. Galindo, 36, of Odessa passed away Saturday, March 20, 2004, at his residence.
Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. March 24 in Sunset Memorial Gardens with Pastor Rosario Hill officiating.
Adam was born on July 19, 1967, in Odessa, Texas, to Joe C. and Mary B. Galindo. He lived his entire life in Odessa. He was a self-contracting carpet and vinyl installer. He loved his friends and family, was a very giving person, and loved music. He attended school at Ector Junior High.
He is survived by his son, Adam Galindo Jr. of San Antonio; brothers, Ruben Galindo and Amy Lynn, of Odessa, Robert Galindo and wife, LaDonna, of Odessa; sister, Sandra Lambardia and husband, Fabian, of Odessa; grandparents, Francis and Marcelino Barreraz of Odessa; two nieces and seven nephews. He is also survived by family members in Odessa, Presidio and Ojinaga, Mexico.
Floral arrangements will be provided by the Marquez and Dutchover families.

William ‘Bill’ Freitag
ELDORADO — William “Bill” Freitag was born April 15, 1923, and passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 20, 2004.
He attended schools in Sterling City, Ozona and Mertzon.
Bill was a veteran of World War II. While in the Army Air Corps, he proudly served in New Guinea and the Philippines. Upon returning from the service, he married
his high school sweetheart, Eunice Nell Girvin. She passed away in 1959, leaving three children, Kay, Jay and Sheliah.
Bill married
Mabel W. Koy of Roswell, N.M., in 1962. They lived in Odessa where Bill owned and operated an oil field inspection service. In 1970, they moved to the ranch in Roswell until 1977, when they moved to Live Oak Brangus Ranch, eight miles east of Eldorado.
Bill kept busy with his chores on the ranch, pushing cedar, spraying pear, bitter weed, taking care of the livestock, deer and black buck. He loved to dance, golf and fish. Bill was a very active supporter of the West Texas Rehab Center and received many honors from the Eldorado Divide Soil and Water Conservation District.
Bill is survived by his wife, Mabel; daughters, Kay Wiginton of San Antonio and Sheliah Safford and husband, Bryant, of Orem, Utah; son, Jay and his wife, Pam, of San Angelo. Other surviving family members include brother, Jimmy Freitag of Missouri; six grandchildren, Lauren and Lindsay Wiginton, Taylor and Trevor Safford, Jeff Freitag and Jana Freitag Harrison; and one great-granddaughter, Ariel Freitag.

Graveside services will be at 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 23, 2004, at the Lawnhaven cemetery in San Angelo with Brother Bob Jacobson officiating. Arrangements are by Kerbow Funeral Home of Eldorado.
Honorary pallbearers are Bobby Helmers of Christoval, Frances Shelton of Mertzon, Le Roy Covey of Mertzon, Orval Edmiston of Eldorado, Rick Sterling of Eldorado, Hyman Sauer of Eldorado, James Scott of San Angelo and Bill Taylor of Eldorado.

Dorothy Hamilton
ODESSA — Dorothy Hamilton, 83, of Odessa passed away Friday, March 19, 2004. She was born on July 14, 1920, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Claude and Beulah May Haynes. Dorothy and her family moved to Odessa in 1947.
Dorothy retired from Texas Instruments in 1984 and was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jake Hamilton in 1994, one brother, three sisters and her parents.
She is survived by her daughter, Nelda Faye and husband, James Bradley, of Odessa; sisters, Betty Snodgrass of Odessa, Billie Sue Pate of Dumas and Martha Ann Smith of Hobbs; four grandchildren, James David Bradley, Andrea Swaim and husband, Lesley, Stephanie Black and husband, James, and Chris Bradley, all of Odessa; six great-grandchildren, Casey and Amber Swaim, Amanda and Connor Black, Haylea and Dylan Bradley, all of Odessa.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 24, 2004, at Sunset Memorial Chapel with B.D. Berryhill presiding.

Mike Keim
MIDLAND — Mike Keim, of Midland, Texas, passed away Friday, March 19, 2004.
He was born September 22, 1957, to Robert Gerald Keim and Marybelle Myers Keim in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and was raised and educated in New Mexico. In 1980, Mike received his BS in Chemical Engineering from New Mexico State. From 1980 until present, he had been employed with Chevron/Texaco in Hobbs, N.M., and Midland, Texas. Mike was a gifted musician (guitar and banjo) and an inveterate humorist. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish, and was never known to turn down a good friendly game of poker.
Mike is survived by his sons, Matt Keim and Brian Keim, both of Midland, Texas; daughter, Taryn Keim of Euless, Texas; brothers and sister-in-laws, Robert and Cynthia Keim of Shadow Hills, Calif., John and Renee Keim of Burbank, Calif.; nephews, Jason Keim and Eric Keim; nieces, Theresa and Jennifer Keim. Also surviving is the mother of Mike’s children, Debi Keim of Midland, and his beloved dog Spud.
The family will receive friends at Ellis Funeral Home, Tuesday, March 23, 2004, between the hours of 7 p.m. and 9 p.m.

Terri ‘Jo-Gal’
Cooper Powell
ODESSA — Terri “Jo-Gal” Cooper Powell passed away Saturday, March 20, 2004, at the age of 36 after a lifelong battle with the Sickle Cell disease.
Residing in Apache Junction, Ariz., she was employed by Conseco Financial and dedicated her time volunteering for the Project Help Organization. She was a committed activist for the Sickle Cell Society.
A devoted and loving mother, she is survived by her only child and daughter, J’Trena Cooper-Petit, 15. Other survivors include her father, John Powell of Odessa; her mother, Betty Cooper of San Antonio; and many more loving family members.
Morning services will be held Saturday, March 27, 2004, in the Superstition Mountains where her ashes will be scattered.

Bart Scharlach
FORT STOCKTON — Bart Scharlach died Friday, March 19, 2004. He was born in Dallas, Texas, November 30, 1965. He spent his youth in Mount Pleasant and graduated from Mount Pleasant High School in 1984. He was married
to Julie McDonald Scharlach on June 25, 1988, in Odessa, Texas. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Austin College in 1987. He received his master’s of business administration degree from East Texas State University in Texarkana and was also a graduate of the Stonier Graduate School of Banking at Georgetown University.
Bart was the president of Guaranty Bond Bank in Fort Stockton and the owner of Fort Stockton Home Furnishings and Finance. Bart also served as president of the Fort Stockton Economic Development Corporation, the Chairman of the finance committee at the First United Methodist Church, as a mentor at Alamo Elementary School, and as a member of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
Bart is survived by his wife, Julie McDonald Scharlach; daughters, Erin and Emily; his parents, Art and Jane Scharlach; and Julie’s parents, Buddy and Sue McDonald; his sister and her husband, Allison and Jim Gramentine; and their daughters, Maggie and Sydney; and his brother, Blake Scharlach. He was a generous and gracious friend to many and will be missed by all.
His service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 24, 2004, at the First United Methodist Church in Fort Stockton with burial at Resthaven cemetery in Midland, Texas, at 3 p.m. There will be a memorial service at 2 p.m. Monday, March 29, 2004, at the Tennison Memorial United Methodist Church in Mount Pleasant.

Hugh C. Strickland
CRANE — Hugh C. Strickland, 90, of Crane, our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away at Midland Semper Care Hospital on Thursday, Feb. 12, 2004.
He was born on Oct. 8, 1913, in Roanoke, Texas. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps in Puerto Rico. Hugh was employed by Gulf Oil Corp. for 37 years, as a lease operator, retiring in 1975.
Hugh was a member of the Crane Church of Christ. He had a great sense of humor and never failed to display it, even during his illness. He was a joy to be around.
Hugh is survived by his wife of 14 years, Mary Eva of Crane; a son, Durwood of Crane and Lafayette, La.; a grandson, Chris and his wife, Tara, of Crane; and grandson, Jason of Sweetwater, Texas; and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 14, 2004, at the Mary Street Church of Christ with Minister Gene Klutts officiating. Burial will follow in the Crane County cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home of Crane.
Pallbearers will be Jack Gothard, Doug Damron, Joe Napier, Bob Butler, Wayne McWilliams and Chester Pettit.
Raymond Esteban Tavarez
ODESSA — Raymond Esteban Tavarez, 7 days old, passed away Thursday, Feb. 12, 2004, at his grandmother’s home. He was born Feb. 5, 2004, in Odessa.
He is survived by his parents, Ruben Tavarez and Coraena Vigil, both of Odessa; brother, Daniel Ray Tavarez; sister, Abrianna Tavarez; grandparents, Gayle Vigil, Lali and Steve Tavarez and Lucia and Ruben Fuentez; and great-grandmother, Virginia Young, all of Odessa.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2004, at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
