Graveside services were held Monday at Riverside National cemetery. Arrangements were by Sierra Mortuary of Riverside.
He was born in Winnsboro. He retired from the Army.
SURVIVORS: Sons, Bruce Owens of Midland and Paul Owens of Irvine, Calif.; daughters, Linda Morteson of San Diego, Calif. and Cathy Bjorklund of Costa Mesa, Calif.; brothers, Cleo Owens, Bill Owens and Gene Owens, all of California; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Augustine Tarango
PECOS Augustine G. Tarango, 76, of Pecos, a retired bus driver, died Tuesday, May 4, 2004, in Pecos.
Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. today at Santa Rosa Catholic Church with the Rev. Manuel Munoz officiating. Burial will be at Santa Rosa cemetery. Arrangements are by Pecos Funeral Home.
He was born in Pecos and was Catholic. He was an Army veteran of World War II.

KERMIT Bill Elliott, 54, of Kermit, a contractor, died Tuesday, April 13, 2004, at Winkler Memorial Hospital.

He was born in Monahans.

IRAAN Allen Tooter Jones, 39, of Iraan, a self-employed compressor mechanic, died Tuesday, April 13, 2004, at Pecos County General Hospital in Iraan.

He was born in Coleman and was a longtime resident of Pecos County.

ODESSA - Estelle C. Beard, 81, of Andrews, died Friday, May 7, 2004, at Permian Regional Medical Center in Andrews.

She was born in Horatio, Ark., and moved to Andrews in 1942 from Quinland. She worked in the cafeteria at Permian Regional Medical Center in Andrews for 10 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Andrews.

He was born in Dekalb and was a Merchant Marine for the Civil Service. He was a Marine veteran of World War II. He was Church of Christ.
