ODESSA — Neysa Mae Smith, 47, of Odessa, died Saturday, Aug. 7, 2004, at Medical Center Hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Vine Baptist Church with the Rev. Johnny Touchstone officiating. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
She was born in Carlsbad, N.M.
SURVIVORS: Husband, Gary Smith of Odessa; son, Henry Reeves Smith of Odessa; daughter, Dondi Mae Smith of Odessa; mother, Effie Reeves of Carlsbad, N.M.; and sister, Cindy Reeves of Albuquerque, N.M.
Jose Tercero
PECOS — Jose M. Tercero, 85, of Odessa, a retired carpenter and contractor, died Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2004, at Medical Center Hospital.
Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Frank Chavez officiating. Burial will be at Mount Evergreen cemetery. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home and Pecos Funeral Home.
He was born in Fort Davis. He served in the Army and was a Catholic.
SURVIVORS: Son, Steve Tercero of Odessa; daughters, Mary Botello of Orange Park, Fla., and Priscilla Ely and Rosa DeLaO, both of Odessa; brothers, Dolores Tercero of Surprise, Ariz., and Ildefonso Tercero of Prescott, Ariz.; sisters, Fabiola Garcia of El Monte, Calif., and Teresa Hernandez of Surprise, Ariz.; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Viola Brady
FORT STOCKTON — Viola K. Brady, 84, of Fort Stockton, a retired restaurant owner and operator, died Thursday, Aug. 5, 2004, in Odessa.
Private services will be held at a later date. Arrangements by Fort Stockton Funeral Home.
She was born in Pierce, Okla. She was Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Sisters, Mary Ann Miller of Groesbeck and Glenda Jean McKinney of Boerne; and brother, Lewis John Simpson of Teague.
Barbara Brooks
FORT STOCKTON — Barbara L. Brooks, 77, of Abilene, a homemaker, died Saturday, Aug. 5, 2004, in Abilene.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at East Hill cemetery with the Rev. Dr. Larry Krueger officiating. Arrangements by Fort Stockton Funeral Home.
She was born in Fort Stockton. She was Methodist.
SURVIVORS: Husband, Roy Brooks of Abilene; son, Sterling Brooks of Winters; daughter, Karen Cohan of San Angelo; sister, Cherrye Ann Kerley of Kennewick, Wash.; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

FORT STOCKTON — Elauteria R. Chacon, 92, of Fort Stockton, died Sunday, Aug. 8, 2004, in Fort Stockton
Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church with the Rev. Floro Hinacay officiating. Burial will be at Fort Stockton Catholic cemetery. Arrangements by Memorial Funeral Home.
She was born in Castolon.
SURVIVORS: Sons, Alfonso Chacon of Odessa and Nicasio Chacon Jr. of Midland; daughters, Maria Luisa Viscallino of Midland, Guillerma Hinojos and Maria Lujan, both of Odessa, Dominga Gomez of Fort Stockton and Eva Morales of Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico; brother, Asencion Garcia of Alpine; 41 grandchildren; and 66 great-grandchildren.

MIDLAND — Steven Carl Duff, 54, of Midland, a retired oilfield worker, died Sunday, Aug. 8, 2004, at a local hospital.
Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today at Pipkin Funeral Home Chapel. Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with the Rev. Ray Wilhelm officiating. Arrangements by Pipkin Funeral Home.
He was born in Andrews. He was in the Air Force.
