STANTON -- Christopher Dawson "C.D.Ewell, 83, of Stanton, owner of C.D. Ewell Sales Company, died Thursday, April 23, 1998, in a Big Spring hospital.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Trinity Memorial Park with Jim Starrak officiating. Arrangements by Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.

He was born in Pleasanton. He was a member of the Church of Christ. He was an Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors: Wife, Volena Ewell of Odessa; son, Bobby Wayne Ewell of San Angelo; daughter, Billie Underwood of Odessa; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Angela Gonzales

FORT STOCKTON -- Angela Haro Gonzales, 81, of Fort Stockton, a homemaker, died Wednesday, April 22, 1998, in Fort Stockton.

Rosary was said Friday, April 24, 1998, at Fort Stockton Funeral Home. Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. today at St. Agnes Church with the Rev. Jim Chaumont officiating. Burial will be at St. Agnes Catholic cemetery.

Arrangements by Fort Stockton Funeral Home.

She was born in Parral, Chihuahua, Mexico, and had been a resident of Fort Stockton for 30 years after moving from Juarez, Mexico. She was Catholic.

Survivors: Sons, Antonio Delgado of Fort Stockton and Jose Luis Delgado of Almagordo, N.M.; and two grandchildren.

Nellie Porter

ODESSA -- Nellie Mae Porter, 68, of Odessa, a retired employee of the City of Odessa, died Wednesday, April 22, 1998, at Medical Center Hospital.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Odessa South Church of Christ with Gene Collins officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill cemetery. Arrangements by Martinez Funeral Home.

She was born in Terrell and moved to Odessa 46 years ago from Terrell. She was a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors: Sons, Elder James Douglas Porter and Darrell JN Porter, both of Odessa; daughters, Doris Marie Porter of High Point, N.C., and Reva Mae Porter Mangram of Dallas.

Leona Robertson

ODESSA -- Leona Florance Robertson, 43, of Odessa, an accounting manager for Southland Corp., died Wednesday, April 22, 1998, at Medical Center Hospital.

Services will be held at 3 p.m. today at Hubbard-Kelly Chapel with the Rev. Francis Frey officiating. Burial will be at St. Joseph cemetery in Thibodeaux, La. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

She was born in Thibodeaux, La.

Survivors: Son, Michael Ray Robertson of Odessa; brothers, Roland M. Robertson and Carroll M. Robertson, both of Thibodeaux, La., Christopher M. Robertson of San Diego, Stanley T. Roberston of Salt Lake City; sisters, Julia Robertson Leblanc of San Diego, Jeneria Hogue of Thibodeaux, La., and Annie L. Hunt of Newark, Ohio.

Madge Sokolsky

MONAHANS -- Madge Sokolsky, 92, of Monahans, a homemaker, died Thursday, April 23, 1998, at Ward Memorial Hospital.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Harkey Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Maxine Burns officiating. Burial will be at Monahans Memorial cemetery. Arrangements by Harkey Funeral Home.

She was born in Gilmer County, W.Va., and was a longtime Monahans resident.

Survivors: Sister, Ruie L. Bond of Goodman, Mo.

Eugene Young

ODESSA -- Eugene "Baby GeneMack Young, 62, of Odessa, a retired maintenance supervisor, died Wednesday, April 22, 1998, at Medical Center Hospital.

Services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday at Martinez Funeral Home with Joe Parks officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill cemetery. Arrangements by Martinez Funeral Home.

He was born in Caldwell and moved to Odessa 40 years ago from Caldwell. He was Baptist.

Survivors: Wife, Alice Young of Odessa; mother, Gertrude Edwards of Palmdale, Calif.; son, Kevin Young of Ontario, Calif.; daughters, Glenda Peoples of Miniola, Net Sutton, Shelly Pachecoo and Sharon Haynes, all of Odessa; sister, Sylvia Chambers of Palmdale, Calif.; brother, John Goosby of Los Angeles; and nine grandchildren.

ANDREWS -- Dan Street, 46, of Andrews, died Thursday, April 23, 1998, at Lubbock Methodist Hospital.

PAMPA -- James Russell McKinley, 65, of Pampa, died Friday, April 24, 1998.

SEMINOLE -- Ross Marion Baker, 47, of Seminole, an auto mechanic, died Tuesday, April 21, 1998, in Ropesville.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Community Chapel with the Rev. Ernest Wall officiating. Burial will be at Gaines County cemetery. Arrangements by Boyer Funeral Home.

He was born in Seminole. He was Baptist.

Survivors: Wife, Lynn Baker of Seminole; father, R.O. Baker of Seminole; mother, Lanora Jo Baker of Stephenville; sons, Anson Kendall Baker and Errick Shayne Baker, both of Lubbock; sisters, Regina Williams and Renee Chapman, both of Stephenville; and four grandchildren.

Fred Cook

ODESSA -- Fred Cook, 83, of Odessa, a retired employee of F.C.I. of Odessa, died Wednesday, April 22, 1998, at his residence.

Memorial services will be held at 4:30 p.m. today at First United Methodist Church with the Revs. Jim Hawk, Scott Seymour and Jimmy Braswell officiating. Burial will be in Detroit, Texas. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

He was born in Wynnewood, Okla. He was Methodist.

Survivors: Wife, Martha Cook of Odessa; son, Richard Warren Cook of Stephenville; daughter, Christie Ellen Cook Bruner of San Carlos, Calif.; sister, Jewel Barritt of Ardmore, Okla.; and two grandchildren.

Bealah Copeland

PECOS -- Bealah Copeland, 90, of Pecos, a homemaker, died Wednesday, April 22, 1998, at Reeves County Hospital.

She was born in Gateville.

Survivors: Son, Robert D. Copeland Jr of Pawnee, Okla.; daughters, Helen L. Stephens of Pecos, Nancy Freeman of Ringold, La.; brother, Robert E. Beeman of Visalia, Calif.; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

ODESSA -- Opal M. Ponder, 91, of Midland, a retired employee of Ordovician Oil Well Log Library, died Thursday, April 23, 1998.

She was born in Stephens County and moved to Odessa at an early age. She was a Baptist.

Survivors: Sons, W.H. 'Bill' Ponder of Argyle, Charles Ponder of Brownwood; sister, Lula Lasater of Odessa; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
