Luther Allen Rollins
ODESSA — Luther Allen Rollins, 80, of Odessa passed away Sunday, February 15, 2004, at his residence.
He was born June 18, 1923, in Snyder, Texas. He married
Viva May Wiggins on October 26, 1945, in Snyder. He was a proud member of the U.S. Navy during WWII.
He is survived by his wife, Viva Rollins of Odessa; daughters, Sharon Nichols of McGregor, Susan Sledge of Kermit and Laura Duckworth of Odessa; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Othell Trevcy of Snyder; and a brother, Joe Rollins of Snyder.
Graveside services were held at 3 p.m. Monday, February 16, 2004, at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations be made to Second Baptist Church of Odessa.

Coleete O. Brown
ODESSA — Coleete O. Brown, 92, a former resident of Odessa, passed away Wednesday, March 10, 2004, at the Covenant Hospital in Lubbock.
She was born Oct. 23, 1911, in Jefferson County, Okla. She was married
to Charles J. Brown in 1936 in Comanche, Okla. They moved to Notrees, Texas, in 1945, where she was Postmaster for many years. She retired in 1978, and they moved to Odessa. In 2000, she moved to Ruidoso Downs, N.M.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles J. Brown in 1984; and daughter, LaNita Funderburk.
She leaves behind two daughters, Diane Stanley and husband Dale of Alamogordo, N.M., and Judy VanWinkle and husband Jonnie of Ruidoso Downs; two sisters, Gwen Daniels and husband Ned of Midland and Ruth Talley and husband Pete of Meridian, Okla.; seven grandchildren, Javaun and Dalton Amburgey of San Angelo, Chuck Stanley of Lawton, Okla., Jimmy Stanley and wife Heather of Alamogordo, Tommy Stanley and wife Trisha of McKinney, Cole VanWinkle of Ruidoso Downs and Becky Ewing and husband Mike of Ruidoso; and eight great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Jack Watkins officiating.

M. Aline Brown
ODESSA — M. Aline Brown, 92, went to be with her Lord Jesus on March 9, 2004.
She was born Jan. 22, 1912, in Corpus Christi to Clay and Marion Chandler. After graduating from Pampa High School, she married
Noble Brown in 1935. They soon moved to Notrees, Texas where he worked at the Shell Gasoline plant for 25 years. They helped start Notrees Baptist Church. In 1963, they retired, moved to Odessa, and became faithful members at First Baptist Church. After Nobles death in 1983, Aline became active at Crescent Park Baptist Church with her sister. Aline truly loved the Lord Jesus and her family and friends. Her sweet smile and many words of encouragement will be missed by all.
Aline is survived by one sister, Helen C. Warren; six nephews, Dr. Bob Warren, the Rev. Charlie Warren, Mark Warren, Kenneth Say, Olin Salisbury and Tony Salisbury; one niece, many cousins; and close friends.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today at Crescent Park Baptist Church with the Rev. Johnny Dickerson and the Rev. Charlie Warren officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Marian A. Dickerson
ODESSA — Marian A. Dickerson passed away Saturday, March 6, 2004, in Odessa.
She was born July 7, 1924, in Speonk, N.Y., to Carl and Rose Etta Raynor Lucas. She married
Stanley Dickerson in 1942, and they moved to Odessa in 1957, coming from North Carolina.
Mrs. Dickerson was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, George and Charles; and her husband, Stanley, in 1981.
Marian is survived by two sons, Dickie Dickerson and Bob Dickerson of Odessa; three daughters, Alberta Watson of North Carolina, Sally Aguirre of California and Betty Jessup of Houston, Texas; 13 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Monday, March 8, 2004, at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Sunset Memorial Gardens cemetery.

Ruth ‘Midge’ Graham
MIDLAND — Ruth “Midge” Graham, 75, of Midland, passed away on Saturday, March 13, 2004.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 16, 2004, at the Greenwood Baptist Church with Wayman Swopes officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
Ruth was born to Harold and Murriel Lilleberg May 4, 1928, in Muskegon, Mich. She lived in Muskegon until the age of 12 when she moved with her family to San Francisco, Calif. She met the love of her life and soul mate, Clayte Graham, in San Francisco. They married
Nov. 17, 1945.
Ruth worked as a telephone operator in San Francisco and acquired the nickname “Midge” during World War II. After the war, Midge and Clayte came to Midland and settled in the Greenwood community in 1946, to live and work on the family farm. A few years later they moved to Odessa where Midge accepted Christ at Northside Baptist Church. They then moved back to Greenwood, and she became a member of Greenwood Baptist Church. She served as treasurer, WMU president, Sunday School teacher and Community Mission Leader at Greenwood Baptist Church. She also served as PTA president at Greenwood School for a number of years.
After Midge’s children entered high school, she entered the work force off the family farm. She worked as a legal secretary, then as an insurance claims agent for Aetna for many years. After leaving Aetna, she finished her working career with NRM Petroleum. After retirement, she became a charter member of the North East Midland County Volunteer Fire Dept. She was an active member for about 12 years.
She loved camping and belonged to the Sand Hills Good Sam’s Camping Club.
Survivors include a son, Marvin Graham and wife, Carla of Broken Arrow, Okla.; two daughters, Linda Welch and husband Bobby of Odessa and Brenda Chandler and husband Ashley of Midland; and one brother and sister-in-law, Allen and Carol Lilleberg of Napa, Calif. Grandchildren include Brian Welch, Rusty Welch, Andy Chandler, Eric Graham, Amy Keeler, Jenny Welch, Bradley Chandler, Ben Graham and Casey Martin. Great-grandchildren are Tiffani Tate, Bobby Welch, Brody Welch, Stoney Welch, Weston Graham, Gracie Keeler and Katelyn Chandler.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Clate Graham and her parents.
Members of North East Midland County Volunteer Fire Dept. will serve as pall bearers.

Rudolfo ‘Guerro’ Lopez Jr.
ODESSA — Rudolfo “Guerro” Lopez Jr., 20, of Odessa, passed away Thursday March 11, 2004, at Medical Center Hospital from injures sustained in an automobile accident.
He was born in April 5, 1983, in Odessa to Rudolfo and Maria Lopez Sr. He was a Christian Catholic and worked in the oilfield industry.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Onofre Lopez Jr.
He is survived by his son, Elija Rudolfo Lopez of Odessa; parents, Rudolfo and Maria Lopez Sr. of Odessa; grandmothers, Socorro Molina Santana and Anita Armendarez, both of Odessa; brother, Juan Ybarra of Odessa; sisters, Ashley Lopez and Jennifer Lopez, both of Odessa; several aunts, uncles, cousins and lots of friends.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Monday, March 15, 2004, at Odessa Funeral Home Chapel. Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 16, 2004, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Joseph Uecker officiating. Burial will follow at RoseHill cemetery.

William ‘Bill’ McCarty
ODESSA — William “Bill” McCarty, age 80, of Odessa, passed away on March 13, 2004.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday March 15, in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Odessa.
Bill was born on Nov. 1, 1923, in Weatherford, Texas, to William and Lynnie McCarty. He married
Wanda Stephens on May 5, 1954, in New Mexico.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Wanda McCarty; sons, Jerry McCarty, Jimmy McCarty, Will McCarty and Leo McCarty; daughters, Tommie Gesch, Carolyn Cronk and Wanda Waldhelm; bunches of wonderful grandchildren; and a very special great-granddaughter, Jasmine Nicole Simons; and great-grandson Austin Tyler McCarty.
He was preceded in death by his little angel, granddaughter DeAnna Lynn McCarty; and grandson, Robert James McCarty.

Miguel Lopez Mendoza
ODESSA — Miguel Lopez Mendoza, 19, of Odessa, passed away March 11, 2004, at Medical Center Hospital from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
He was born Dec. 23, 1984, in Odessa, to Miguel and Celia Mendoza. He was a Christian Catholic and an assistant manager in the restaurant industry.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Miguel Lopez; nephew, Marco Salazar; and aunt, Rosa Mendoza.
He is survived by his daughter, Isabella Mendoza of Odessa; girlfriend, Jennifer Trevino of Odessa; parents, Miguel and Celia Mendoza of Odessa; brothers, Alex Mendoza and Ricardo Mendoza, both of Odessa; sisters, Olga Salazar and husband Eddie, Sandra Kerr and husband James and Christina Mora and husband Jose, all of Odessa; grandparents, Antonia Chavez of Odessa, Isidro and Luz Martinez of Guanajuato, Mexico; nephews and nieces, Isaac Carillo, Jose Mora, Jasmine Kerr, Jacqueline Kerr, Fabian Salazar, Sammy Salazar and Rosa Odely Salazar; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and lots of friends.
Pallbearers will be Daniel Valenzuela, Pedro Soto, Eddie Arzate, James Kerr, Edward Chavez, Steven Muñoz, Juan Chavez and Alex Mendoza.
Mr. Mendoza will lay in state at his residence at 309 Sunset Lane from today until service time Tuesday, March 16, 2004.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Monday, March 15, 2004, at 309 Sunset Lane. Mass will celebrated Tuesday March 16, 2004 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Joseph Uecker officiating. Burial to follow at RoseHill cemetery.
