He was born in Albuquerque, N.M. He was Catholic.

Hettie Hake
Odessa Hettie Hake, 95, of Odessa, passed from this life on November 5, 2004, at her residence.
Hettie was born January 9, 1909 in Blevins, Ark., to Isom and Phoebe Rodden.
She was employed by Missouri Pacific Hospital in St. Louis, MO., where she married
Belmont J. Hake. They later relocated to Odessa, and became members of Seventh Day Adventist Church, and she became a homemaker.
Hettie is preceded in death by her husband, Belmont J. Hake in May of 1990; as well as her daughter, Ruth Watson.
She is survived by her daughter, Darlene F. Simmons and spouse Dr. M.D. Simmons; and stepson, Belmont C. Hake and spouse Sherry; grandchildren, Dr. M.R. Simmons and spouse Dr. Karen Ives, Shelly Simmons, Reni Bavikati and spouse Navin, Kim Watson and Randy Watson and spouse Cissey; 11 great-grandchildren; and her very dear friends and caretakers, Joe Larrocha and Delia Hinojos.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, November 8, 2004, at Sunset Memorial Chapel with interment on Tuesday, November 9, 2004, at 3 p.m. at Keene cemetery in Keene, TX.

Teresa White
Odessa Teresa White went to be with our Lord and Savior on Wednesday, November 3, 2004, at Charlton Methodist Hospital, after a long battle with diabetes.
She was born on March 23, 1963, in Odessa, Texas, to Napoleon and Temple Daniels, where she was raised. She met and later married
Kelvin Mitchem and later remarried
Samuel “David” White on November 20, 1990.
She loved, enjoyed singing and telling jokes. She lived life to the fullest.
She was a member of New Friendship M.B. Church. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
She is preceded in death by her father, Napoleon Daniels; her mother, Temple Daniels; sister, Peggy Daniels, all of Odessa.
She is survived by her husband, Samuel “David” White; son, Kelvin Mitchem-White; daughter, Whitney Mitchem-White, all of Dallas; brother, Danny Daniels of Fort Worth; sister, Natalyn Daniels of Houston; and a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins and many friends.
Gertrude Margaret Arledge Weeks
ODESSA - Gertrude Margaret Arledge Weeks, age 97, died Wednesday, November 3, 2004, at Seabury Nursing Center in Odessa.
She was born January 31, 1907, in Montague County, TX, to William Edward and Ellie Ann (Prentice) Arledge.
Graveside services will be held 10 a.m. Monday, November 8, 2004, at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Nora Fitch officiating.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Peggy Jo Pool Richards, grandson, Mark Pool, brother, W.M. (Bud) Arledge, sisters, Dorothy Burnett, Bess Shirley Jones, Alma Moore, Ann Moore, niece, Judy Longino, and by her parents.
She is survived by her grandson, Mickey Ray Pool of Missouri City, TX, brother, Joe Arledge of Gilmer, TX, sister, Frances Gleaton of Odessa, and cousin, Oleta Worley of Fort Worth, four nieces of Odessa, JoAnn Harry, Linda Meyer, Jerri Brown, and Candy Homsey, and many other nieces and nephews.
Gertrude, her mother, Ellie Arledge, and her sister Frances Gleaton were longtime members of First Presbyterian Church in Odessa. The family has lived in Wink and Odessa since the mid- 1930s and had many friends here. She raised her grandson, Mickey Ray Pool through High School here.

Fayette Francis Griffin
ODESSA - Fayette Francis Griffin, 82, died Saturday, November 13, 2004, in the Regency Hospital, Medical Center Hospital, Odessa, Texas.
The Burial Office and Holy Eucharist will be celebrated by The Rev. David Mossbarger at St. Barnabas’ Episcopal Church, 4141 Tanglewood, Saturday, November 20, at 2 p.m.
Fayette was born January 12, 1922, in Rome, New York. His parents were Andrew and Lila Cary Griffin. He had one sister and one brother. He was raised in Rome, New York, and educated at the Rome Free Academy. He received a B.B.A degree from Southwestern University, Georgetown, Texas, in 1949. He attended Texas Tech University in 1966-67, and later enjoyed a part time teaching position at Odessa College.
In 1942, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps. During World War II, he served in the Pacific Theatre on Okinawa Island and was part of the occupying force at Nagasaki. He received special training at Mount Holyoke College and was posted at Southwestern University with the Marine-Navy V-12 unit.
While stationed in Georgetown, he met his future wife, Delia Elizabeth Cocke, and they were married
on August 4, 1944. They recently celebrated their 60th anniversary of marriage. They had two sons, Mark and Christopher, and two daughters, Lynne and Terry. Christopher died in infancy.
Fayette and Delia moved from Georgetown to West Texas in 1949, first living in the Gulf Oil Sandhills Community of Crane County, and then moving to Odessa in 1951.
Fayette earned Certified Professional Accountant credentials and was the founding partner of Griffin & Howell. P.C. He was active in the Marine Corps League, West Texas Jazz Society, Midland Odessa Symphony and Chorale, and Brotherhood of St. Andrew. He was a member of St. John’s and St. Barnabas’ Episcopal Churches, serving as Senior Warden in 1971 and 1978, and a Trustee from 1980 to 1991. He was also a Trustee for the J.C. Ferguson Foundation.
Fayette was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Lila Cary Griffin; brother, Terry Griffin; and son, Christopher Griffin.
Survivors include his wife, Delia; his son, Mark Griffin and his wife, Stacy, and their children, Morgan, Adam and Rachel of Cypress, Texas; his daughter, Lynne Whitt and her children, Jason and Jessica of Bridgehampton, New York; his daughter Terry Griffin, and her husband, Peter Deming, and their children, Esther and Hadley of New York City; his sister, Nora Stephen of Rome, New York; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Art and Helen Goethe of Georgetown, Texas; many nephews and nieces; and a multitude of friends
He and his wife enjoyed many activities including reading, traveling, theatre and dining with friends. However, those who knew him best know that his most passionate interests were baseball and jazz. His sense of humor will be missed by all those who knew him.
