Francis Johnson
Francis Johnson, 86, of Odessa, died Saturday, Oct. 9, 2004, at Sienna Nursing Home in Odessa.
He was born June 28, 1918, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to Francis and Emily Johnson.
Funeral services are pending in Calverton, N.Y.
He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. He served in Burma, India.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother; and sisters, Christine, Edith and Nellie.
He is survived by wife, Anastasia Johnson of Odessa; sons, Kenneth Johnson and wife Nancy of Ocala, Fla., and Barrie Johnson and wife Joëlle of Rockville Center, N.Y., and James Johnson of Odessa; and grandsons, Kenneth and Brian; numerous nephews and one niece.
Armando Medina Sr.
ODESSA — Armando Medina Sr., 79, of Odessa, died Friday, Oct. 8, 2004, at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa.
Mr. Medina was a Catholic and was born Aug. 19, 1925, in Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico to father, Francisco Medina and mother, Paula Gonzales, who precede him in death.
A rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 11, 2004, at Martinez Funeral Home Chapel. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2004, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Frank Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Rosehill cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Maria Alvarez of Ojinaga, Mexico; daughter, Irma M. Pinto of Mexico City; sons, Francisco H. Medina of El Paso, Martin Franco of Hobbs, N.M., and Armando H. Medina of Odessa; sisters, Dora Hernandez of Marfa and Julieta Gonzales of Odessa; 18 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Services under the direction of Martinez Funeral Home.
Francisco J. Sotelo

Francisco J. Sotelo, 52, passed away Thursday, Oct. 7, 2004. He was born Oct. 4, 1952, in Ojinaga Chihuahua, to Jesus and Ysidora Fuentes Sotelo. He was married
to Maria Luisa Molinar for 30 years. He lived a prosperous and fulfilling life.
He is survived by his wife, Maria Luisa Sotelo; two sons, Francisco Sotelo Jr. and Miguel Angel Sotelo; one daughter, Edith Sotelo; and three sisters, Maria De Jesus Sotelo, Maria C. Chandler and Maria Isela Martinez.

Deloris Jane Williams
ODESSA — Deloris Jane Williams was born Dec. 28, 1961, to Billy Mack and Josephine Williams in Odessa.
Deloris passed away Thursday, Oct. 7, 2004, at Medical Center Hospital from a long battle with diabetes.
Deloris was a lifelong resident of Odessa, only leaving to attend Angelo State for a couple years.
Deloris was a friend to all and her family circle was big. She enjoyed all kinds of music, yet her favorite was Michael Bolton.
She had a wonderful life with her family and friends especially with her special “baby” Harley and the rest of “the girls.”
Deloris was preceded in death by her parents; her sister and brother-in-law, Stan and Patricia McCutcheon.
She is survived by a brother, Billy Mack Williams Jr.; sister, Sheila Williams and Jason Jackson; a niece and nephew whom Deloris cared for and loved dearly, Carole and Shawn McCutcheon. Deloris treasured these children and will be missed greatly by them. She is also survived by her uncle, Arnold Perez of San Angelo; and many more cousins and relatives; and a special love, Mark Ayers, of Sun City, Texas.
Memorial services were at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 9, 2004, at Bethel Assembly of God with the Rev. John Van Hoose and Perry Willis officiating. A reception will follow in the fellowship hall.
The family requests memorials be directed to the American Diabetes Association.
The family gives special thanks to many friends; members of Bethel Assembly of God, MCH staff, Dr. Steven Riley and staff, Dr. Glen Stockbridge, the staff at Deerings Nursing Home, ORH staff and many, many more.
Paulino Salinas
ODESSA - On November 22, 2004, Paulino Salinas went home to be with the Lord. Mr. Salinas was born August 19, 1937, in Agualeguas, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, to father, Jose Salinas and mother, Severa Peña Salinas, who both preceded him in death.
He was also preceded in death by his five brothers, Genaro, Manuel, Felix, Loy, Mario, Jose and Guillermo Salinas and two sisters, Lucinda San Miguel and Dominga San Miguel.
Paulino was raised and educated in Agualeguas. At age 15, he came to the United States with his family to make a better life. There was nothing that he loved more than music and fellowship with his family. He later returned to marry his school sweetheart, Elvira Ruiz, on December 28, 1958. They settled in Odessa in 1975, to raise their two daughters.
He is survived by his loving wife, Elvira Salinas of Odessa; daughters, Teresa Sotelo and husband, Herman, and Rosalba Renteria and husband, Ismael, all from Odessa; two sisters, Juanita Rodriguez of Goliad, Texas, and Esther Leal of Odessa. He was blessed with six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 24, 2004, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Father Joe Uecker officiating, with interment following at Ector County cemetery Rose Hill Section. A rosary was said at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Martinez Funeral Home.
Services are under the direction of Martinez Funeral Home.
Leona McIlvain
Midland Leona McIlvain, of Midland, passed away Saturday, Nov. 20, 2004.
She was born July 23, 1922, to Charles Henry Tiemann and Lillie Louise Stiemann Tiemann in Eden, Texas, and was raised and educated there. On April 2, 1939, Leona married
Jasper Lee “Jap” McIlvain in Pecos, Texas. She had worked in the meat department of Leader Grocery in Pecos. Leona and “Jap” farmed side by side in Lomax, Texas. While in Lomax, she was the cooking leader in the 4H Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Leona is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Betty Lee and Carl Rodgers; four grandchildren, Sabrina Early and her husband, James, Greta Caldwell and her, husband, Michael, Chad Rodgers and his wife, Chrystal, and Katie Rodgers; and one great-grandchild, Jordan Lee Caldwell, all of Midland, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services have been scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2004, at Ellis Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Tommy Potter officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Chad Rodgers, Michael Caldwell, James Early, David Grant, John Clarke and Roman Baker.

Johnny ‘Moe’ Molina
Monahans Johnny “Moe” Molina, 63, died Thursday, Nov. 18, 2004, at Ward Memorial Hospital.
He was born May 28, 1941, in Monahans. His parents were Raymundo Gonzales and Lupe Molina Gonzales.
Johnny married
Josie Sanchez on Dec. 17, 1966, in Monahans.
He served his country in the U.S. Army, where he served in Viet Nam. He was awarded the Army Commendation Medal in 1966. He was a member of the VFW Post 4004, where he served as Commander, Quartermaster, and District 25 Commander. He was recognized as All American District Commander for 1988-’89. He was the Constable for Ward County Precincts 1 and 4 for 10 years.
Survivors include his wife, Josie Molina of Monahans; one son, John Michael Molina of Monahans; and two daughters, Marlene Sanders and husband Mike of Midland and Susie Valdez and husband Ramon of Monahans. He’s also survived by his brothers, Martin Gonzales of Odessa, Raymond Gonzales Jr. of Midland and Ben Gonzales and John Gonzales, both of Monahans; also his sisters, Amelia Gonzales, Mary Fierro and Frances Dominguez, all of Monahans, Dolores Mejia of Twain Heart, Calif., and Becky Fuentes of Mineral Wells; also by two grandchildren, Steven Roy Valles and Stephanie Ann Valles.
Services are set for 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 22, 2004, at Grace Fellowship with the Rev. Mark Bristow officiating. Burial will follow at Monahans Memorial cemetery under the direction of Family Funeral Services/ Jackie Harkey.
Charlotte Lee Bridges
ODESSA — Charlotte was born Sept. 14, 1946, in San Angelo, Texas, to Charles and Wanda Rudd. She died Friday, Sept. 24, 2004, at the Hospice House in Odessa, Texas.
She was raised in Odessa, and started her nursing career as an O.R. Technician at Medical Center Hospital. She was a member of Terrace Hills Baptist Church.
On Nov. 26, 1979, she married
Larry Bridges. They moved to McKinney, Texas, where she continued her nursing career as an O.R. Technician until she received her RN in 1986 from Grayson County Community College in Sherman, Texas. She worked in McKinney until they moved back to Odessa in 1992, where she again worked for Medical Center Hospital.
Eventually, Charlotte began working for Hospice of the Southwest as a field RN, and she finished her career with Home Hospice. During that career she earned her certification as a Hospice nurse. She is remembered by her fellow employees and the families of her patients as a no-nonsense nurse who went out of her way to provide comfort, care and love.
In 2002, Charlotte was diagnosed with a brain stem tumor and after surgery and therapy, she was unable to recover. Along with other family members and friends, her husband cared for her diligently until her death. Their love for each other grew stronger during the last 2 1/2 years.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Wanda Rudd.
She is survived by her loving husband, Larry Roberts of Odessa; sons, Larry Roberts Jr. and wife Paula of Odessa; Chuck Roberts and wife Rhonda of Odessa; Larry Allen Bridges and wife Carolyn of Anna, Texas; and Kevin Pike and wife Kathy of Ellworth, S.C.; daughters, Sherri Keel of Princeton, Texas, Kathy Richardson and husband Clarence of Van Alstyne, Texas, and Gina Bielski and husband Andy of Bella Fontaine, Ohio; father, Charles Rudd Sr. of San Antonio, Texas; brothers, Frank Rudd of San Angelo, Texas, and Charles Rudd Jr. of College Station, Texas; sisters, Debbie Mann of San Angelo, Texas, and Sandra Jones of Lorraine, Texas; 15 grandchildren; and her beloved pet, Angel.
A very special thank you goes to Pastor Mike Martin and Dr. Jimmy Braswell and to the Home Hospice Family and all their employees.
In lieu of flowers, donations should be given to the Hospice House of Odessa, or Home Hospice of Odessa.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 27, 2004, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Jimmy Braswell and Pastor Mike Martin officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Pall bearers will be Kenneth Bridges, John Penney, Charlie Penney, Kyle Penney, Skipper Hunt and Grayson Hankins. Honorary pall bearers are Jeremy Roberts, Logan Roberts, Colby Roberts, Joseph Keel, Gene Michael Keel and Kevin Pike.
