Opal Griggs

ODESSA -- Opal Lee Griggs, 89, of Odessa died Friday, April 3, 1998, in Odessa.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Chapel with the Revs. Glenn Harlin and Clydel Chapman officiating. Burial will be in Odessa cemetery. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

She was born in Samford.

SURVIVORS: Son, A.C. Griggs of Tulsa, Okla.; daughters, Jodie McCuistion and Juanita Kiker, both of Odessa; seven grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.

Billie Johnston

ODESSA -- Billie C. Johnston, 85, of Odessa, a retired executive secretary for Mobil Oil, died Friday, April 3, 1998, at Parks Methodist Retirement Village.

Services will be held at 9 a.m. today at Frank W. Wilson Chapel with the Rev. Johnnie Dickerson officiating. Burial will be at 4 p.m. at the Garden of Memories cemetery in Kerrville. Arrangements by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.

She was born in Cordele, Ga., and moved to Odessa from Kerrville in 1990. She was Baptist.

SURVIVORS: Brother-in-law, Joe Johnston of Odessa; sister-in-law, Ida Mae Johnston of Odessa; and several nieces and nephews.

Willie Lois Thomas

ODESSA -- Willie Lois Thomas, 79, of Odessa, a former ECISD a cafeteria cook and a homemaker, died Saturday, April 4, 1998, at Medical Center Hospital.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. today at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Kyle Rodgers officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

She was born in Doddridge, Ark. She was a Baptist. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

SURVIVORS: Daughter, Mary Beeman of Odessa; brothers, Hardy Adcock and Knowles Adcock, both of Doddridge, Ark., and Dale Adcock of Houston; sisters, Ruby Templeton of Doddridge, Ark., and Naomi Harrest of Atlanta, Texas; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Oscar Brady Jr.

ODESSA -- Oscar Earl 'Skid' Brady Jr., 70, of Odessa, a truck driver and mechanic, died Thursday, April 2, 1998, at Medical Center Hospital.

Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Rose of Sharon Baptist Church with the Rev. Jim Hanson officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill cemetery.

He was born in Fairfield and was a resident of Odessa for 40 years. He was an Army veteran of World War II and Baptist.

Survivors: Wife, Reaule Brady of Odessa; sons, Dennis Lee Brady of Lynwood, Oscar Brady III and Edward Earl Brady, both of Odessa, Lindale Brady and Buford Brady, both of Los Angeles and Billy Earl Brady of Irving; daughter, Linda Brady of Odessa; brother, Clarence Erskine of Houston; and sisters, Emma Lee Brady of Fort Worth, Ruby Brady of La Marque and Christin Brady of Kansas City, Kan.

Eula Cryer

DINUBA, Calif. -- Eula Bell Cryer, 78, a retired nurses aide, died Thursday, April 2, 1998, at her residence in Dinuba, Calif.

Services will be held Monday at Dopkins Funeral Chapel in Dinuba, Calif. Arrangements by Dopkins Funeral Home.

She was born in Louisville, Texas, and was a former resident of Odessa before moving to Dinuba, Calif., in 1965.

Survivors: Sons, Don Cryer of Houston, Robbie Cryer of Corpus Christi and Jimmy Cryer of Glenwood Springs, Colo.; daughter, Judy Wellman of Odessa; brother, Roy Justiss of Mineral Wells; sisters, Ola Mae Brock of Stephenville and Vera Smith of Amarillo; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Ruth Holcomb

RANKIN -- Ruth Lancaster Holcomb, 73, of McCamey, a homemaker, died Friday, April 3, 1998, at Upton County Convalescent Center.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church in Rankin. Burial will be at Rankin cemetery. Arrangements by Richard W. Box Funeral Home.

She was born in May and was Baptist.

Survivors: Sons, Albert Holcomb and Cecil Holcomb, both of Odessa; daughters, Gay Long of Odessa and Mary Robbins of McCamey; brother, Franklin Lancaster of Houghton, La.; and sister, Gay Burkett of Austin.

John Lynn

ODESSA -- John Rex Lynn, 69, of Odessa, an oil field representative, died Friay, April 4, 1998, at his residence.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Hilton Chancellor officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

He was born in Seguin and was Baptist.

Survivors: Son, Phillip Lynn of Austin; brother, Harold Lynn of Stockdale; sisters, Donna Pounds of Midland and Suzy Walsh of Odessa; and six grandchildren.

ODESSA -- Ruby Ruth Geers, 67, of Odessa, a retired cashier, died Thursday, April 2, 1998, at Medical Center Hospital.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Banky Stocks officiating. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

She was born in Red River County and moved to Odessa in 1952 from Red River County. She was Baptist.

SURVIVORS: Sons, Jerry Glenn Geers of Midland and Michael Gwin Geers of Odessa; brother, Charley Robert Lee Blackburn of Paris, Texas; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Virginia Goyne

ODESSA -- Virginia Goyne, 69, of Odessa, a homemaker, died Thursday, April 2, 1998, at Medical Center Hospital.

Services will be held at 3 p.m. today at Hubbard-Kelly Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Tony Henson officiating. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

She was born in Denison and moved to Odessa in 1945.

SURVIVORS: Husband, Thomas Otho Goyne of Odessa; sons, Tommy Lynn Goyne and Donald Lee Goyne, both of Odessa; daughters, Georgia Louise Baez of Mesquite, Ruth Ann Bryan of Weatherford, Alicea Henson of Tyler and Mary E. Aleshire of Alvarado; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
