Patricia Ann Charlton Brown
ODESSA — Patricia Ann Charlton Brown, 73, passed away August 16, 2004, at Medical Center Hospital after a short illness.
Patricia was born October 21, 1930, in Fort Summer, New Mexico, to William Edmund and Elnora Plaster Charlton.
She is preceded in death by her parents, William Edmund Charlton and Elnora Plaster Charlton. She was a librarian first in Goldsmith, then Midland and then Odessa from 1950 to 1991. She was always elected church librarian first at Vine Avenue Baptist Church, then at Vine Baptist Church where she had been a member for many years. She also worked in the church nursery for many years. She was a life member of Beta Sigma Phi and past member of the Retired Teachers Association. She married
John Franklin Brown August 3, 1952, in Goldsmith.
Services will be held at Vine Baptist Church at 10 a.m. Thursday, August 19, 2004, with the Rev. Johnny Touchstone officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, John Franklin Brown of Odessa; and a daughter, Cynthia Brown of Odessa; sister, Peggy Nimz of Salem, Oregon. She is also survived by foster daughter, Eva Carrasco; and three foster granddaughters; as well as several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Vine Baptist Church.

Jessie Cleo Collins
MONAHANS — Jessie Cleo Collins was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and friend. Cleo passed away peacefully August 16, 2004, in Arlington, Texas.
Cleo has lived in Monahans since 1955 after moving from Crane. Jessie Cleo Collins was born September 20, 1909, in Bryars, Oklahoma. She was the oldest child of nine. Parents were Willie Helen Templeton and Thomas Jefferson Snelson. She married
William Lee Collins January 7, 1928. Cleo loved life, the Lord, her family and was a dedicated mother.
Cleo was preceded in death by her husband, William Lee Collins. She is survived by sons, Billy Ray Collins and Roy Joe Collins, both of Lancaster, Calif., and Johnny Collins of Grants Pass, Ore.; daughters, Delores Solomon of Odessa, Tommie Long of Arlington and Cindy Collins of Kermit; sisters, Vera Trussell of Aurora, Colo., Tillie Webster of Brownwood and Verna Livingston of Odessa; 17 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and 22 great-great-grandchildren.
Cleo will be missed by all who knew her.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, August 19, 2004, at Southside Baptist Church in Monahans, Texas, with Curtis Brewer officiating the service. Burial at Monahans Memorial cemetery.

Rhie Hudson
ODESSA — Rhie Hudson, 87, passed away August 13, 2004, at Hospice House of Odessa. A memorial services is scheduled for 2 p.m. Aug. 21 at Immanuel Baptist Church with Dr. Mark Riley officiating.
Mrs. Hudson was born December 20, 1916, in Seminole, Okla., to Elvin and Nettie Kever. She married
Cecil Hudson March 26, 1937, in Chandler, Okla. They moved to Odessa in 1953. During the late ’70s and early ’80s she worked for a health food co-op where she has many friends.
Mrs. Hudson was preceded in death by her husband; an infant son; her parents; four sisters; and two brothers.
Her survivors include son, David Hudson of Odessa; son, Andrew Hudson and wife, Edwina, of Odessa; daughter, Nancy Parris and husband, Jim, of Odessa; and son, Mark Hudson. Mrs. Hudson is also survived by grandsons, Chris Hudson, Paul Hudson, Philip Hudson, all of Odessa, Tony Parris of Odessa and Steve Parris of Wichita, Kan.; and granddaughter, April Copeland of Lubbock. Mrs. Hudson is also survived by five great-grandsons and six great-granddaughters.
The family would like to express their gratitude and thanks to the nurses and staff of Deering’s Care Center and Hospice House of Odessa.

Savannah Logan
ODESSA — Savannah Logan went to sleep in death August 14, 2004, at Odessa Regional Hospital, awaiting God’s promise of a resurrection here on a renewed earth in the near future. (John 5:28, 29:2 Peter 3:13)
She was born February 10, 1910, to Jimmy and Lillie Owens in Washington, Arkansas.
On September 29, 1929, she was united in marriage to Ambers Logan. To this marriage, 10 children were born. They resided in Hempstead County Arkansas, until moving to Odessa, Texas, in 1954. She was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses March 8, 1969, and remained faithful until death.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; four children, Aldestra Woods, Arnita Campbell, Robert Logan and Catherine Logan; and four grandchildren, Gary Cooper, Wendell Woods Jr., April Nichols and Ira Nichols.
She is survived by: three sons, Ivian Logan and wife, Margie, of Midland Texas, Ambers Logan Jr. of Denver Colo., and Eugene Logan of Aurora Colo.; three daughters, Mary Cooper and husband, Billy, of Gardendale Texas, Velma Byrd of Denver Colo., and Arlene Nichols of Odessa Texas; and one cousin, Ester Saulter of Los Angeles, Calif.
Savannah “Big Mama” is also survived by 30 grandchildren; 65 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other friends and relatives.
The family would like to express thanks and gratitude to all involved in her nursing care.

Oscar Ruiz Padilla
ODESSA — Oscar Ruiz Padilla, 32, of Odessa, a person full of life who was a wonderful son, father, excellent brother a devoted husband, grandson and dear friend, passed away Saturday, August 14, 2004, at Medical Center Hospital. He was born May 14, 1972, in Bakersfield, California, to Cruz Padilla Sr. and Isabel Ruiz.
He was a Catholic and an assembly mechanic for the oilfield industry with Weatherford Company. Mr. Padilla graduated from Arvin High School in Arvin, California, afterward served two years in the U.S. Navy. Oscar was a very dedicated person that if he ever wanted something he would be the person that would achieve his goals. He would go out of his way to do anything and everything for anybody, tough love or not he had a heart of gold. A sense of humor like no other! Always smiling and cracking jokes. Oscar will always live in our lives and will miss him dearly.
Oscar was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Celestina Ruiz and Elena Rodriguez Padilla. He is survived by wife, Dena Reyes of Odessa; daughter, Elvira Isabel Padilla of Odessa; father, Cruz Padilla Sr. of Odessa; mother, Isabel Ruiz Of Bakersfield, California; brother, Cruz Padilla Jr. of Odessa; sisters, Stella Padilla, and Elena Padilla, both of Bakersfield, California and Olivia Padilla of Odessa; God-parents, Jesus and Esperanza Padilla of Odessa; uncles, Florenco Ruiz and Abraham Ruiz, both of Bakersfield, Ca.; and aunt, Patricia Baca of Bakersfield, Calif.
Pallbears will be Cruz Padilla Jr., Manuel Cruz, Vivian Reyes, Bart Gomez, Caeser Russell, Gilbert Casarez, Paul Rodriguez and Kathy Padilla.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today, August 18, 2004, at Odessa Funeral Home Chapel. Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Thursday August 19, 2004, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Joseph Uecker officiating. Burial to follow at Rose Hill cemetery.

Cleta Lillian Wineberg
ODESSA — Cleta Lillian Wineberg, 93, of Odessa, passed away Saturday, August 14, 2004, at her residence.
Mrs. Winberg was born August, 28, 1910, in Lamar County, Paris, Texas, to R.O. and Simmie Stuart. She moved to Odessa in 1927 and since then was a member of the 6th and Jackson Church of Christ. She attended Odessa High School and worked as a sales clerk for Jack Nolan Photography Studio. On October 6, 1934, in Odessa, she united in marriage to B.K. “Slim” Wineburg.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Slim Wineburg; parents; daughter, Bobbie J. Martin; and sisters, Ninnie Steffey, Mildred Nolan and Veta Votaw. She is survived by grandson, Jim B. Martin of Oklahoma; granddaughter, Jaime Webster of Oklahoma; nephew, Gordon S. Votaw of Odessa, Texas; great-grand nephews, Jeff S. Votaw of Gillette, Texas, Jon H. Easley of Odessa, Jay A. Easley of Kermit, David Clark of Odessa and Lowell Steffey of Brookston, Texas; niece, Sara Easley of Odessa; great-grand niece, Jene Brown of Midland, Texas; good friend, Judy Wallum of Odessa; and five great-grandchildren.

Kaye Mann
CRANE — Kaye Mann, 63, of Odessa, and formerly of Crane, passed away Monday, August 16, 2004, in the Medical Center Hospital after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, August 19, 2004, in the Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Crane County cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home.
Kaye was born December 25, 1940, in De Queen, Arkansas. She was an office manager in home construction. She had lived in Crane from 1955 until 1968 when she moved to Odessa.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William A. Rowlett Sr. and Carrie Louise Rowlett; and two brothers, W.A. Rowlett Jr., and James Wesley Rowlett.
She is survived by her life companion of 20 years, C.T. Arnold of Odessa; two sons, Dennis Mann of Andrews and David Mann and his wife, Kasey, of Odessa; a daughter, Wyvonnia Mann of San Angelo; a brother, Johnny Rowlett and his wife, Gayle, of Forney; three sisters, Freda Law and her husband, Joe, of Forney, Maxine Patton and her husband, Elmer, of Talco, Texas, and Gwen Urie and her husband, Don, of St. Helens, Oregon; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mary Love Walker Allbright
ODESSA — Mary Love Walker Allbright slipped into her Heavenly Father’s hands Tuesday morning, August 17, 2004, freeing her from her earthly bondage of sickness.
Mary Love was born January 28, 1925, in Loraine, Texas, to James Wiley and Syble Walker and was the oldest of two daughters. She grew up in Loraine and attended schools there graduating from Loraine High School. After her high school graduation she attended Texas Tech University in Lubbock and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Home Economics.
On June 12, 1946, Mary Love married
the love of her life, Jack Goodwin Allbright. They were married
for 57 years until Jack’s death on July 31, 2003. Mary Love and Jack were blessed with a daughter and son, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
“Grandma Mary” was a special lady! She was a friend to everyone she came into contact with. In all of her travels she never met a stranger no matter where she went. She never hesitated to help anyone and was willing to give whatever was needed. She stressed to all she knew how important first and foremost her faith in her Lord and Savior was.
Mary Love taught school in Loraine, Texas, for half a year and moved to Odessa to begin teaching. She taught for 35 1/2 years and retired from Austin Elementary. She was a dedicated educator and stressed how important learning was for all ages.
Mary Love was a member of First United Methodist Church, Tau Beta Sigma, a lifetime member of Texas State Teachers Association, charter member of Beta Epsilon Conclave of Kappa Kappa Iota, Retired Teachers Association, past member of The Modern Mother’s Club and Old Timer’s of Ector County.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack, and parents, J. Wiley and Syble Walker.
She is survived by her daughter, Jeanie Finn and husband, Paul Dee; son, Gordon Allbright and wife, Mary, all of Odessa; grandchildren, Jerrod Finn and wife, Sabrina, of San Angelo, Brad Allbright of Odessa, Elizabeth Dominguez and husband, Jason, of San Marcos, Mandy Allbright of Houston and Melissa Finn of Lubbock; great-grandchildren, Ryan, Jonathan and Victoria Finn, all of San Angelo; sister, Jean Kegans and husband, Troy, of Arlington; brother-in-law, Joe Allbright and wife, Francis, of Andrews; sisters-in-law, Polly Allbright of Odessa and Ruth Allbright of Alpine; and twelve nieces and nephews. Special cousins, L.B. and Oneta Bitner of Odessa; and special niece, Judy Allbright of Aztec, N.M. Special family who adopted her as “Grandma Mary,” Rick and Linda Aneregg and Tyler of Odessa, Emmy Aneregg of Lewisville, and June and Glenn Finn of Odessa.
Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons, Jerrod Finn and Brad Allbright; nephews, Joe M. Allbright and James Allbright; friends, Kenneth Huse, and Leon Rybolt.
The family invites you to share in a celebration of Mary Love’s life at a graveside service at 9 a.m. Saturday, August 21, 2004, at Sunset Memorial Gardens followed by a Memorial Service at 10 a.m. at First United Methodist Church. A time of visitation will follow with the family in the Church Parlor.
