Carlene Meridith Williams
BAIRD — On October 12, 2004, The Good Lord called his daughter, Carlene Meridith Williams, to spend eternity in his kingdom.
The youngest of four children, Carlene was born on February 6,1931, in Baird, Texas to Lacy and Lela Meridith. She married
Otis Williams then shortly after moved to Pecos, TX to start her legacy.
Carlene and Otis were married
for eight years before her fondest hope was born, her son Mark. This, her oldest son, was everything she could want in a son. He brought into her life the kind of joy only a child can. Then shortly after her prayers were answered again by the birth of her only daughter, Joy. And that word describes what she meant to her. Joy was the apple of her mother’s eye and they remained close throughout the years as only a mother and daughter can. After many years watching her other children grow, God blessed her with her baby boy, Michael. He was adored by Carlene as her other children grew up and moved away to start their own families. Carlene and Michael were bonded by the fact that Michael was the last of her children and close to her heart. She devoted her life to her three children and to the adults that they became.
And after the birth of her six grandchildren, Renee, Christi, Marcus, Laci, Michael Craig, and Justin, she was renamed Memaw, whom everyone remembers her as. She loved her grandchildren as they were her own, and always had a helping hand in their raising. And as time passed and her family grew she became a proud and loving great-grandmother of eight great-grandsons, Brenton, Braden, Cameron, Jerod, Aric, Ashton, Cabot, and Cayden, one great-granddaughter, Keira, and another great-grandson due in December. In this is her Legacy.
There are no words to describe the love and devotion Carlene’s family felt for her every day of their lives. Carlene was adored by all whom met her. Her loss is felt by many friends and family. Carlene was preceded into the kingdom by her older brother Tommy, and survived by her two older sisters, Wenona and Floydia Ann.
Graveside services will be held at Ross cemetery on Thursday, October 14th, at 3 p.m. in Baird, Tx.
Services are entrusted with Parker Funeral Home in Baird.
