Kenneth Wayne Baucom
ODESSA - Kenneth Wayne Baucom, 68, of Odessa, passed away on December 26, 2004. Kenneth was born October 29, 1936, to William “Bill” Baucom and Bertie Baucom in Clute, TX. He was owner of an Independent Service Station. On January 7, 1956, Kenneth married
Clara Bow Ward in Alvin, TX, they moved to Odessa in June of 1957, where Kenneth was a Roughneck for 13 years. He was a Lifelong Baptist.
Kenneth is preceded in death by his father, William “Bill“ Jonathan Baucom; mother, Bertie Taylor Baucom; sister, Verlin McCleary; fathers-in-law, J. B. “Curly” Ward and William L. Strawn; brother-in-law, Hardy Clemmons; and sister-in-law, Kathy Ward.
Kenneth is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Clara Ward Baucom; son, Mike Baucom and Patricia Glenn of Midland, TX, and Steve and Kelley Baucom of Odessa, TX; daughter, Tammy Baucom of Bedford, TX; grandchildren, Ashley and Brittany Baucom and Chris and Nikki Turpin; brothers, James and Ruby Baucom of Dallas, TX, and Herschel and Dorthy Baucom of Mabank, TX; sister, Dorothy Clemmons of Scurry, TX; mother-in-law, Helen Ward Strawn; brothers-in-law, Ben Strawn and Bob Ward of Odessa, TX; sister-in-law, Kay Lackey of Odessa; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
There is a visitation scheduled at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, December 29, 2004.
Services are scheduled for Thursday, December 30, 2004, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel at 10 a.m. with Charlie Weaver officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Ynes M. Luna
ODESSA - Ynes M. Luna, 78, our beloved Husband, Dad, and Grandpa went home with his Lord and Savior to rejoice in his magnificent glory on Sunday, December 26, 2004, at Medical Center Hospital. He was born December 7, 1926, in Runge, TX. He moved to Odessa in 1976 from Balmorhea. He married
Carolina Hernandez Oct. 8, 1951, in Balmorhea. He worked for the City of Odessa in the street dept. for 16 years. He had also been a farmer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ynes and Ramona Luna; son, Ruben Luna in 1964; and his sister, Maria Lozano.
He is survived by his wife, Carolina Luna of Odessa; sons, Rudy Luna and wife, Vickey, of Odessa, Felipe Luna and wife, Orfa, of Odessa and Roy Luna and wife, Theresa, of Waco; daughters, Maria Dix of San Antonio, Biola Cordero and husband, Oscar, of Ft. Worth and Delmira Jimenez and husband, Ismael, of Odessa; sister, Elida Luna of Pecos; 12 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Jimmy K. Stroud
LUBBOCK - The family of Jimmy K. Stroud will celebrate 69 years of his life Tuesday, December 28, 2004, at 2 p.m. at W. W. Rix Chapel. Mr. Stroud peacefully departed this life Thursday, December 23, 2004.
Jimmy K. was born October 14, 1935, in Davenport, Oklahoma, to Thomas H. and Mary York Stroud. He graduated from Kermit High School in 1955, and attended North Texas State. He married
Arliss Froelich, December 17, 1960, in Kermit. Jimmy enlisted in the United States Navy and served on the USS Shangri-La aircraft carrier for four years. Following his tour of service, he returned to Kermit to work as a turbine specialist supervisor for El Paso Natural Gas Company. Mr. Stroud retired from El Paso Natural Gas Company after 32 years of service. He and Arliss moved to Lubbock in 1995 after residing in Kermit for 55 years. While in Kermit, Jimmy participated in numerous community, church and school sponsored activities. Jimmy K. will be remembered as a loving, caring and humble husband, father, “papa”, and friend.
Survivors include his wife, Arliss Stroud; daughter, Kimberly Stroud Hargrove; grandchildren, Kalie and Kelby; siblings, H. W. Stroud and his wife, Martha, Darrel Stroud and his wife, Jeanette, and Ogden Stroud and his wife, Mary Lou; sister-in-law, Doris Stroud, wife of Jimmy’s late brother, Rondal Stroud; and several nieces and nephews.

Betty Geraldine Parrish Lynch
ODESSA - Betty Geraldine Parrish Lynch, 72, of Odessa, Texas, passed away Monday, December 27, 2004, at Alliance Hospital after a lengthy illness. Betty was born December 11, 1932, in Lufkin, Texas, the eldest of Lloyd and Bertha Parrish’s three children. She graduated from Lufkin High School in 1949, and worked for the Lufkin Chamber Of Commerce. On August 6, 1952, she married
her high school sweetheart, Ernest C. Lynch Jr., and moved to Odessa. Betty worked for Shell Pipeline in Odessa until she became the mother of three children and a full time homemaker.
Betty was preceded in death by her father, Lloyd Parrish and her brother, Ben Parrish. She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Ernie Lynch; her son, Ernest Lynch (Tracy) and his wife, Terri, of Plano, Texas; her daughters, Melissa Lynch of Houston, Texas, and Amy Lynch of Odessa, Texas; her grandchildren, Nathan Lynch and Annelise Lynch of San Antonio; and her mother, Bertha Parrish and brother, Michael Parrish of Lufkin, Texas.
The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to Betty’s caregivers Martha T. Morales, Euncie T. Alvarado, and Romelia Natividad who gave her such comfort during her illness. The family would also like to thank the people of Odyssey Healthcare and Alliance Hospital for faithfully caring for her needs.

Lupe Ann Montelongo
ODESSA - Lupe Ann Montelongo, beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister and aunt, died suddenly Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2004, of a sudden illness in Wichita Falls.
Lupe was born in Patterson, Calif., on Feb. 8, 1972. She was preceded in death by her father, Luis F. Cobarobio and is survived by her mother, Rosalinda Flores.
Lupe was raised in Odessa, Texas, and lived here until 1993. She moved to Great Bends, Kansas, and married
Salvador Montelongo, also of Great Bends.
Lupe was a great mother to her three children, Abel, Alberto “Rigo” and Samantha, all of Great Bends, Kan.
She is also survived by her brother, Joe Luis Cobarobio of Odessa, Texas; and sister, Rebecca “Becky” Cobarobio of Austin, Texas; and grandmothers, Jesusita Ramos and Juanita Vasquez, both of Odessa. She had two nieces, Carmen and Corina Cobarobio of Odessa, Texas.
Lupe was Catholic and an active member of her community. She participated in organizing a “Potluck” for the family members when someone passed away in Great Bends. She was also a notary Republic.
She was bilingual and was affectionately known as the “town interpreter,” who never turned away anyone in need.
Lupe worked for “We Care Clinic” in Great Bends, Kan. She has just completed her first semester of college. She was working towards a degree in Administration.
Rosary was held at 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 27, 2004, at Martinez Funeral Home. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2004, at San Juan Catholic Church with Deacon Jesus Mercado officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill cemetery.

Sim Riley
ODESSA - Sim Riley, 70, passed away Saturday, December 25, 2004, at Hospice House in Odessa.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Immanuel Baptist with Rev. Mark Riley officiating. Masonic graveside will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
He was born Sim Dennie Riley on May 14, 1934, in Hobbs, New Mexico, to Sim R. Riley and Jessie Paton. He married
Pam Wood on November 25, 1972, in Odessa. He worked for ECISD as a supervisor for the transportation department and a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. Sim had served as past master of Odessa Masonic Lodge 955 and three time past patron of Order of Eastern Star 447.
He was preceded in death by his father and a son.
He is survived by his wife, Pam Riley of Odessa; son, Jason Riley and wife, Jessica, of Odessa; daughters, Tammy Ross of Odessa and Keila McAnear and husband, Rex, of Graham; mother, Jessie McGahan of Vernon; brother, Bob Riley and wife, Marie, of Lake Kowia; sisters, Deloris Walton of Vernon and Sarah Corlias and husband, Dan, of Segalville; grandchildren, Lacey and John Gonzales, Brandon Ross, Jordan King, Bryason and Dalton McAnear and Tyler and Lauren Riley; great-grandchildren, Kaydence Gonzales and Keitan King; and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank nurse Jackie Freeman and aids Wendy and Dana for the love and care they gave to Sim

Eleno Romero
ODESSA - Eleno Romero, 82, died Thursday, December 23, 2004, at Desert Springs Hospital in Las Vegas.
Rosary will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2004, at Martinez Funeral Home. Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2004, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Fr. Joe Uecker officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Guadalupe Romero of Odessa; sons, Pablo Romero, Manuel Romero and Juan Romero, all of Las Vegas; daughters, Laura Quintana and Maria Romero, both of Odessa, Blanca Romero of Las Vegas and Ramona Romero, Mercedes Romero, Guadalupe Romero and Irma Romero, all of Chihuahua, Mexico; 36 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.

Henry G. Enriquez
ODESSA - Longtime Odessa resident Henry G. Enriquez went home to be with the Lord December 18, 2004.
Daddy was born March 6, 1921, in San Angelo, Texas, to Rosendo and Jeusista Enriquez. He attended school in San Angelo after which he volunteered for the Civilian Conservation Corps. While in the CCC he helped build road bridges across Arizona. Following the CCC he was drafted into the U.S. Army to serve as a medic during WW II. He participated in the D-Day invasion landing in Normandy’s Omaha Beachhead. He saw action in Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe earning the Victory Ribbon, EAME Campaign Medal with 5 Bronze Stars and Bronze Arrowhead. In addition to his Service Stripe he was awarded 4 Overseas Service Bars.
Following the war Daddy married
Mary Natalia Hernandez on February 26, 1947, in San Angelo, Texas. He latter settled in Odessa where he first worked at the Kit Kat Klub, followed by many years with Manuels Restaurant and Alvarado’s Restaurant culminating his working career with the Odessa Independent School District.
He was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 4373 and the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 2914, Inc. Additionally, he was a 50 continuous year member of the American Legion, Post 0430.
Daddy, the youngest of eight children was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Elisa, Agatha, Luisa, Clara; and brothers, Johnny and Eduardo. He is survived by a sister, Maria of San Angelo; his loving wife of 57 years, Mary; sons, Henry Jr. and wife, Evangeline, (Abilene, Tx), Michael and wife, Diana, (Allen, Tx); grandchildren, Henry III and wife, Lisa, (Odessa), Aaron, Samuel, Rebekah, JohnDavid, and Caliegh; great-grandchildren Christina, Andrew, and Trey. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews ranging from Connecticut to California.
Visitation from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. and a memorial service at 7:30 p.m. will be held at Odessa’s Martinez Funeral Home, 1040 S. Dixie Tuesday, December 21.
Daddy will be taken to San Angelo on December 22 for viewing at Johnson Funeral Home, 435 W. Beauregard Ave. from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with rosary at 7 p.m.
Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. December 23 at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens, San Angelo, Father Quirino presiding. Burial is under the direction of Martinez Funeral Home of Odessa.
Pall bearers will be grandchildren and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to your favorite charity or Home Hospice of Odessa.

Margaret Frances Gerald
MONAHANS - Margaret Frances Gerald joined the other angels in heaven on Monday, December 20, 2004. She was born on April 22, 1925, in Tipton, Oklahoma, to Thomas and Fannie Overstreet. Frances moved to Monahans from Andrews in 1961. She was a bookkeeper for Hoyer, Hardesty, Kelly & Smith, until she retired. She is survived by a son, Dennis Hargrove of Lubbock; and two daughters, Janet Howell of Monahans and Pamela Davison and her husband, Bill, of Monahans. She leaves behind her eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Clarice Price of Wichita Falls, Texas, as well as a host of friends and neighbors including Valarie Smith and E.W. Forbess. She was married
to L. D. Gerald, who preceded her in death in 1983. She was preceded in death by four sisters, Cleo, Georgia, Mary Sue and Beulah.
Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, December 22, 2004, at First United Methodist Church in Monahans at 10 a.m. with Pastor Bill Sylskar officiating under direction of Family Funeral Services/Jackie Harkey.
