Betty Geraldine Parrish Lynch
ODESSA - Betty Geraldine Parrish Lynch, 72, of Odessa, Texas, passed away Monday, December 27, 2004, at Alliance Hospital after a lengthy illness. Betty was born December 11, 1932, in Lufkin, Texas, the eldest of Lloyd and Bertha Parrish’s three children. She graduated from Lufkin High School in 1949, and worked for the Lufkin Chamber Of Commerce. On August 6, 1952, she married her high school sweetheart, Ernest C. Lynch Jr., and moved to Odessa. Betty worked for Shell Pipeline in Odessa until she became the mother of three children and a full time homemaker.
Betty was preceded in death by her father, Lloyd Parrish and her brother, Ben Parrish. She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Ernie Lynch; her son, Ernest Lynch (Tracy) and his wife, Terri, of Plano, Texas; her daughters, Melissa Lynch of Houston, Texas, and Amy Lynch of Odessa, Texas; her grandchildren, Nathan Lynch and Annelise Lynch of San Antonio; and her mother, Bertha Parrish and brother, Michael Parrish of Lufkin, Texas.
The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to Betty’s caregivers Martha T. Morales, Euncie T. Alvarado, and Romelia Natividad who gave her such comfort during her illness. The family would also like to thank the people of Odyssey Healthcare and Alliance Hospital for faithfully caring for her needs.
Graveside services for Betty Lynch were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 29, 2004, at the Bethesda Methodist Church cemetery in Garner, Texas, with Rev. Kevin Bushart officiating.
The family requests in lieu of flowers that memorials be made to Odyssey Healthcare 2651 JBS Parkway, Suite B, Bldg. 4, Odessa, TX 79761 or St. Luke’s United Methodist Church 1601 East 42nd Street, Odessa, TX. 79762.

Al McAllister
ODESSA - Al McAllister, 74, of Odessa, passed away Tuesday, December 28, 2004, at his residence.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton with Father Mark Woodruff officiating.
He was born February 11, 1930, in Waco, Texas, to John McAllister and Audrey Boyd. He married Nan Unlermeyer December 31, 1953, in Dallas, Texas. He graduated Texas University School of Pharmacy in 1954, and worked as a pharmacist until he retired in 1980 from Clinic Pharmacy.
He is survived by his wife, Nan McAllister of Odessa; his sons, Douglas McAllister of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Bradley McAllister of San Marcos, Texas; and five grandchildren.
The family would like to thank Cassandra, Susan and Holly of Home Hospice. The family request memorials be made to St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Catholic Charities, Home Hospice or Meals on Wheels.

Patricia ‘Pat’ Patterson
ODESSA - Patricia “Pat” Patterson, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, died Tuesday, December 28, 2004, at Alliance Hospital in Odessa.
Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Rev. Clydel Chapman officiating.
Pat was born October 4, 1928, in Hot Spring South Dakota to Charles Kindley and Jean Kirkham Kindley. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Barbara Stallings.
Pat was a motel manager and housewife. She loved music, dancing and her pets. Pat never met a stranger and was a friend to everyone she met.
Her sons are Kenneth Meyer and wife, Alice, of Liberty Hill Texas; granddaughters, Shannon Meyer of Round Rock, Texas, Michelle and Terry Balkwell and their daughter, Jessie Lee, of Carson City Nevada, and Monard (Marty) Matz and his children, Nicholas Matz and Jessica Matz, of Odessa; sister, Jody Bothwell of Harlingen, Texas; and brother, Kirk Kindley of Post Falls, Idaho.
Services entrusted to Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.

Joyce Louise Pittman
ODESSA - Joyce Louise Pittman, 82, of Odessa, passed away Tuesday, December 28, 2004, at Medical Center Hospital. She was born November 20, 1922, in Ouachita Parrish, Louisiana. She attended the Red Cross Vocational Nursing program in 1945, and had worked as a midwife. She loved sports and watching the Dallas Cowboys play.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Eugene Pittman; son, Eugene Pittman; and parents, Arthur and Josie Heath Striplin.
She is survived by her sons, Kenneth Pittman of Odessa and Lynn Pittman of Kermit; brothers, Woody R. Striplin of Philomath, Ore., and Ed Striplin of Lebanon, Mo.; sister, Daisy “Jean” Striplin of Odessa; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, December 31, 2004, at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Services entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

J.D. Weaver
ODESSA - J.D. Weaver, 86, died Tuesday, December 28, 2004, in an Abilene hospital.
The family will have visitation Thursday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 5701 Hwy 277 South, Abilene. The funeral service will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors Chapel in Odessa with Rev. Lee Fuller officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Odessa.
Born in Mt. Pleasant, Texas, on March 22, 1918, J. D. was the son of James Douglas Weaver Sr. and Alma Flynn Weaver. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and married Hazel York in Aztec, NM, July 9, 1957. He owned and operated Weaver Trucking Co. in Midland for 20 years and moved to Abilene in 1994 from Odessa. While living in Odessa, he was a member of Temple Baptist Church. In Abilene he was a member of Wylie Baptist Church. Mr. Weaver had a great love for the Lord, his family and his country.
J.D. is survived by his wife, Hazel Weaver of Abilene; three sons and their wives, James and Mary Weaver of Odessa, Gary and Jan York of Longview and Billy and Kathy York of Midland; two daughters, Glenda Kratzer of San Antonio and Teresa Woodard and husband, Steve, of Abilene; three sisters, Effie Alderson of Payson, Ariz, Mary Lomax of Victoria, TX, and Martha Pittman of Odessa; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
The family wishes to express their appreciation to Dr. Keith Robinson and the doctors, nurses, and staff at Texas Cancer Center and Abilene Regional Medical Center.
Memorials may be made to Wylie Baptist Church Building Fund, 6097 Buffalo Gap Rd., Abilene, TX 79606, or the charity of your choice.

Dale E. Bishop
ABILENE, KAN. - Dale E. Bishop, 67, of Abilene, Kan., a truck driver, died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2004, at St. Francis Medical Center in Topeka, Kan.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. today at Martin-Becker-Carlson Funeral Home with the Rev. Lindsey Brummer officiating.
He was born in Portland, Ore., and was Baptist. He was an Army veteran.
SURVIVORS Daughters, Koa Buckle of Denver City and Kathy Thomas of Conroe; son, William Bishop of Lovelady; brothers, Danny Bishop of Kansas City, Kan., and Tom Klassen of Hutchinson, Kan.; sisters, Nancy Leonard of Entiat, Wash., and Dorene Fuqua of Council Grove, Kan.; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Roy ‘Sonny’ Karr
ODESSA - Roy “Sonny” Karr, 63, of Odessa, died Thursday, Dec. 30, 2004, in Mobile, Ala.
Services are pending with Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.

Charley R. Moore
BALMORHEA - Charley R. Moore, 50, of Balmorhea died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2004, at his residence.
Mass will be celebrated at noon today at Christ the King Catholic Church with the Rev. James Bridges officiating. Burial will be at Balmorhea cemetery in Balmorhea. Arrangements are by Pipkin Funeral Home.
He was born in Pecos. He was a member of St. Stephens Catholic Church in Midland and Christ the King Catholic Church in Balmorhea.
SURVIVORS Brothers, John Harvey Moore Jr. of Bloomfield, N.M., and Joseph Edger Moore of Midland; and sisters, Janet Ellen Sessom of Lawton, Okla., and Peggy Christine Moore of Midland.

Sue Ellen Smith
MONAHANS - Sue Ellen Smith, 39, of Monahans, a restaurant cook, died Sunday, Dec. 26, 2004, in Monahans.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Shiloh Baptist Church. Burial will be at Monahans Memorial cemetery. Arrangements are by Family Funeral Services.
She was born in Monahans.
SURVIVORS Sons, Coey Smith and Kamar Smith, both of Monahans; mother, Susie Smith of Monahans; grandmother, Georgia Nunn of Monahans; brothers, Clifton Smith, Tommy Smith Jr. and Tony Smith, all of Monahans; and sisters, Pam Walker, Peggy Covington and Tracy Smith, all of Monahans.

Eda Mae Sherherd
ODESSA - Eda Mae Sherherd, 73, of Odessa, died Thursday, Dec. 30, 2004, at Hospice House.

Delfina Carrasco
Colorado City - Delfina Carrasco, 72, of Colorado City, died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2004, in a local hospital.
Services were at 2 p.m. Friday at the Kiker-Seale Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Felix Silva officiating. Burial followed in the Colorado City cemetery.
She was born in Bastrop. She was a 57-year resident of Colorado City. She was a member of the Primera Iglesia Bautista El Calvario Church.
Survivors Sisters, Esperanza Davala of Odessa, Connie Garcia of Devine and Sennida Pineda of Newton, Kan.; and brothers, Tom Castillo, Henry Castillo and Ernest Castillo, all of Colorado City, and Tony Castillo of Big Spring.

Minnie Kidd
Brownsboro - Minnie Kidd, 90, of Brownsboro, a homemaker, died Thursday, Dec. 30, 2004, at Hospice of East Texas.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. today at the Brownsboro Methodist Church with the Rev. Guy Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Rock Hill cemetery. Arrangements are by Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Directors.
She was born in Brownsboro and was a lifetime resident. She was a member of the Brownsboro Methodist Church.
Survivors Son, Horton Kidd of Abilene and formerly Odessa; and brother, Monroe Featherson of California.

Ethel Richardson
Midland - Ethel Richardson, 90, of Midland, a retired Shell Co. employee, died Thursday, Dec. 30, 2004, in Midland.
Graveside services will be at 9 a.m. Monday at Resthaven Memorial cemetery with the Rev. Bob Porterfield officiating. Arrangements are by Andrews Funeral Home.
She was born in Snyder, Okla. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Midland.
Survivor Nephew, Joe Bishop of Midland.

Dan Howard Yandell
Odessa - Dan Howard Yandell, 85, of Odessa, a hot oil operator and truck driver, died Friday, Dec. 31, 2004, at Hospice House in Odessa.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Kingston Avenue Baptist Church. Burial will be later that day in Tahoka cemetery in Tahoka. Arrangements are by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
He was born Durant, Okla. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was Baptist.

Beazley, all of Odessa; stepson, Allen Northcott of Anna; stepdaughter, Debra Evans of Beaumont; brother, Jim Yandell of Spring; sister, Nettie Autry of Robert Lee; 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
