Larry ‘Cotton’ Potter
KERMIT - Larry “Cotton” Potter, 53, of Kermit, a diesel mechanic, died Sunday, Jan.2, 2005, at Midland Memorial Hospital.

He was born in Brownwood. He was a Baptist.

Francis Carrol Bolen
McCAMEY - Francis Carrol Bolen, 70, of McCamey, died Sunday, January 2, 2005, at the Midland Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 5, 2005, at the First Baptist Church with Reverend Paul Evans officiating. Burial will follow in the Resthaven cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home.
Mr. Bolen was born September 29, 1934, in Palo Pinto County, Texas. He was a lifetime resident of McCamey, Texas. He was born to Floyd Otto Bolen and Emma Viola Bolen. During his younger years he lived with his family in a company house on King Mountain. He attended school in McCamey. After graduating from school he held various jobs before spending fours years in the Navy. During his stint in the Navy he traveled to many different countries and enjoyed the different places. After returning to McCamey he owned a hamburger stand and enjoyed making and serving a really good hamburger and fries. He began dating Willadean Bradshaw and they began their life together October 14, 1960. They remained in McCamey and bought the Gulf oil and gasoline distributorship in 1965. Carrol hauled lube oil and gasoline to many users in the surrounding counties for 39 years. He ventured into the oil business in 1983, and really enjoyed working on the various leases. During this same period Carrol and Willadean built a convenience store in Bakersfield, Texas. He enjoyed working at the store and visiting with the numerous customers passing through. Carrol never met a stranger. In 1996, they built their second store in Crane, Texas. Carrol served on the McCamey Hospital board of trustees. He also served on the McCamey city council.
He is survived by his wife, Willadean Bradshaw Bolen of McCamey; sons, Kyle Bolen and wife, Velinda, of McCamey, Leland Bolen and wife, Katie, of Iraan, and Brad Bolen and wife, Cindy, of San Angelo; daughters, Machele Keesee and husband, Marty, of Andrews and Lynette Watson and husband, Greg, of Monahans; brother, Joe Bolen of Hurst, sisters, Nelda Chadic, Ada Slaton, and Faye Bushwar, all of McCamey, and Nancy Baldaramos of California; 14 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Hardy Willis
LAMPASAS - Mr. Hardy Willis, age 76, of Lampasas, died Thursday evening, December 30, 2004, at his residence.
Funeral services for Mr. Willis will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 5, 2005, at First Baptist Church in Lampasas.
Reid Schaub will officiate.
Burial will follow at Willis Family cemetery in Burnet County.
Hardy Willis was born September 9, 1928, in Odessa, Texas, the son of John Jerome Willis and Mary Adele (Hunter) Willis. Mr. Willis graduated from Texas Tech University, and later joined the Army. He had been a rice farmer, had run a trucking company with several of his brothers, he was a retired Burnet county commissioner for Pct 2. Lastly he had been a rancher for many years. He married
Bessie Sue Heaton on March 20, 1954, in Odessa and was of the Baptist Faith.
Survivors are daughters, Karen Vann of San Antonio and Judy Flores and husband, Lider, of Cedar Park; son, Robert Willis and wife, Pam, of Lampasas; sisters, Mary Rhoades and husband, Jake, of Odessa, Sarah Harrington and husband, Russ, of Odessa and Becky Hardin and husband, Larry, of San Saba; brothers, Fred Willis and wife, Wanda of Lampasas, Palmer Willis and wife, Ann, of Odessa and Joe Willis and Carolyn of Dallas; sister-in-law, Mozelle “Hootie” Postelle of Odessa; and six grandchildren, Robi Willis, Mardi Willis, Philip Vann, Patrick Vann, Joseph Flores and Jacob Flores.
Mr. Willis was preceded in death by his wife in 1991; his parents; and one brother, John Jerome Willis Jr.
