Nieves Andujo Jr.
ODESSA - Nieves Andujo Jr., 19 years of age, passed away on January 5, 2005 in Odessa, Texas.
He was born on October 1, 1985, in Lake Jackson, Texas.
He is survived by his parents, Nieves Andujo Sr. and Yolanda Andujo; brothers, Reynaldo Andujo of Falfurrias and Fernando Aldujo of Odessa; sisters, Emily Andujo of Odessa and Arlene Vargas Bermudez of Fort Wainwright Alaska; paternal grandparents, Alfonso and Emilia Andujo of Mexico; maternal grandparents, Jose Luis Ayala of Brownsville and Josephina Serrata of Victoria; girlfriend, Tiffany Salcido and their baby to be of Odessa.
He was looking forward to becoming a father and husband. He was loved by all who knew him and admired for his bravery and kind heart. He was a loving son, brother and friend and touched the lives of many. He would have been a great father to his un-born child as expressed by him on many occasions. His life had just begun. He was taken from us too soon, but his memory will always stand strong in the hearts of the numerous who loved him. He will be truly and greatly missed. “We love you, Nieves.”
A rosary will be recited at 5:30 p.m. today at Odessa Funeral Home Chapel. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, January 10, 2005, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with the Reverend Joseph Uecker officiating.

Billie Louise Bryant
FRANKLIN, N.C. - Billie Louise Bryant, beloved Mother, Grandmother and Friend, passed from this world to a better on Jan. 6, 2005. Her faith lit her life and the lives of those around her.
Mrs. Bryant was born Aug. 11, 1918, in Joshua, Texas, and lived in Franklin, N.C., for five years.
She was preceded in death by her cherished husband, Horace Doyle Bryant; sons, Thomas Bryant, Joe Edd Bryant and James Connally; parents, Ira Thomas and Mae Ella Elliott; brother, Jimmy Elliott; and sister, Oleta Montgomery. We know that they were on hand to greet her as she left her pain behind.
She left behind to carry on: her children, Leo and Betty Connally of San Angelo, Texas, and children, Tracey, Susan and Rick; Bill Connally of Kingsland, Texas, and children, Terry, Teresa, Linda, Lisa and Laura; Daughters of James Connally, Cheryl, Cende, Carla and Carrie; Judy and Stanley Arnold of Kermit, Texas, and sons, Bobby and Kenneth; Rodger and Mary Bryant of Stuarts Draft, Va., and children, Joe, Wanda, Rhonda and Donna; and Bonnie and David Pickartz of Franklin, N.C., and sons, Stephan, Gerald and Toby; brother, Tom Elliott and wife Rose of Holliday, Texas; 23 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Bryant was a homemaker for much of her life, then embarked on a career as a cottage parent at a home for neglected and abused children. She made a difference in many lives there as she shared her values with these children. She was commended by the governor of Nevada for her years of unselfish service.
There will be a memorial gathering of friends and family to celebrate her life at her home in Franklin from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 10.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make a donation in Mrs. Bryant’s memory to Westcare Hospice or any other organization you choose to support.

ODESSA - Carlene Bryant, age 58, passed away Saturday, January 8, 2005, at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa.
She was born June 23, 1946, to Carl and Mary Pontremoli in Odessa. She married
Billy Bryant in Lovington, N.M. They were married
for 33 years. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Billy Bryant of Odessa; sons, Randy Bryant and wife Kathy of Carlsbad, N.M., and Don Bryant of Midland, Texas; daughter, Shelly Bryant of Breckenridge,Texas; brother, Henry Carroll and wife Rhonda of Odessa; sisters, Sarah Bryant and husband Johnny of Odessa and Nancy Shuster and husband Jim of Spartanburg, NC..; and eight grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, January 11, 2005, at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Eva U. Garcia
PRESIDIO - Our beloved mother and grandmother, Eva U. Garcia, 89 years old, of Odessa passed away Thursday, Jan. 6, 2005, at Medical Center Hospital.
Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 10, 2005, at Santa Teresa de Jesus Catholic Church with the Rev. Lazaro Gonzalez officiating. A rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today, Jan. 9, 2005, at the church. Burial will be at Desert Hills cemetery. Arrangements are by Martinez Funeral Home.
She was born Feb. 7, 1915, in Terlingua. She lived in El Mulato, Mexico, and Ojinaga, Mexico, before moving to Presidio in 1975. She then moved to Odessa in 2000. Besides being a homemaker, she worked in the fields around the Pecos area in the 1950s and ’60s.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Nicolas Garcia, on April 15, 1991. They were married
in 1940. She was also preceded by three infant sons, Rene, Mundo and Adan; parents, Benito and Isidora Urias; brothers, Refugio Urias, Guillermo Urias, Alberto Urias, Jesus Urias and Francisco Urias; and sister, Paula Salcido.
She is survived by her sons and their wives, Alvaro and Antonia Garcia of Odessa, Ignacio and Socorro Garcia of Presidio, Eloy and Amparo Garcia of Carlsbad, N.M., and Eleacer and Lucy Garcia of Midland; daughter, Maria Cruz Armendariz of Odessa; brothers, Jose Urias of Midland and Benito Urias of Odessa; sisters, Maria Salcido of Roswell, N.M., and Genoveva Pando of Odessa; grandchildren and their spouses, Angela and Israel Hernandez, Maria Elena and Lorenzo Garay, Olga and Eduardo Sotelo, Nora and Jorge Rivera, Eligio and Erika Armendariz, Ivonne and Aurelio Melchor, Rocio and Marco Molina, Napoleon and Theresa Armendariz, Jesus and Teresa Garcia, Alejandro and Alma Garcia, Carlos and Carina Garcia, Veronica Garcia, Jorge and Linda Garcia, Ruth and Adam Fierro, Ruby Garcia, Eloy Job Garcia, Enlil and Fernando Lopez, Edder and Laura Garcia and Yarisdi Garcia; 29 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

Juanita June Berry Hillger Moore
ABILENE - Juanita June Berry Hillger Moore, 76, died January 7, 2005 at her residence.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Elliott-Hamil Chapel of Faith, 5701 Highway 277 South. Interment will be in Elmwood Memorial Park, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home. Friends may visit the family at 1033 Chriswood Drive.
June was born to Ethel (Cutteback) and Cecil Berry on November 29, 1928, in Burkburnett, Texas. During her lifetime, she lived in Odessa, San Angelo, Fort Stockton and Abilene.
June married
William A. (Bill) Moore on February 15, 1949, in Carlsbad, New Mexico. He passed away June 1, 1964, in a farming accident. June married
George W. Hillger Jr. on December 30, 1999, in Odessa, Texas. He passed away on July 3, 2002. June was a member of Wylie Baptist Church. She was a very free spirit who lived for her family.
June was preceded in death by her parents and her husbands.
Survivors include a son, Kenneth Maxwell Moore and wife Neet of Abilene; a stepson, William Richard Moore of Bullard, Texas; a brother, Delmer Berry and wife Laura of Alto, New Mexico; a sister, Evelyn McCulloch and husband Jake of Lufkin, Texas; an aunt, Bessie Hodges of Burkburnett, Texas; three grandchildren, Monica Goin Self of Clyde, Texas, Amy Reister and husband Curt and Kelly Moore and wife Tracie, all of Abilene; six great-grandchildren, Zachary Goins, Sarah Self, Zane Self, Megan Reister, Nicholas Reister, and Hayleigh Moore.

ODESSA - Claude Homer Robison, 80, of Odessa, died Thursday, January 6, 2005, at his residence.
He was born August 15, 1924, in Scurry County, TX, to Homer Robert and Ella Gertrude Robison.

Claude married
Betty Jean Weaver in Penwell, TX, June 14, 1947. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of Crescent Park Baptist Church. He was retired from Weatherford-Enterra and had been self-employed as a contract hot shot driver.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Robison of Odessa; daughter, Susan Talley and husband, Duane, of Odessa; son, Michael Robison and wife, Sandra, of Odessa; grandsons, Richard Robison and wife, Kimberly, of Odessa, Scott Robison and wife, Misty, of Snyder, Philip Talley and wife, Deanna, of Odessa, Andrew Talley of Odessa and Jonathan Talley of Austin; granddaughters, Lori Whitmore and husband, James, of Wink, Kimberly Vargas and husband, Freddy, of Odessa, Jennifer Pinella and husband, Miguel, of Burke, Va., and Bethany Robison of Dallas; and nine great-grandchildren.

ODESSA - Rosa Josephine Thomas, age 86, passed away Friday, January 7, 2005, in Jefferson, Texas, after a lengthy illness.
She was born June 25, 1918, in Jenning, OK, to Owen Bernard and Josephine Hibbs. She married
Richard Paul Thomas on May 10, 1934, in Walters, OK.
She was a homemaker. She lived in Odessa from 1948 to 1978 and then retired to the Lake of the Pines. She was a member of the Baptist Church.
Her parents; two sons, Richard and Robert Thomas; and a daughter, Geneva Thomas, all preceded her in death.
Survivors include her husband, Richard Paul Thomas of Avinger, Texas; children, Millie Garnet and husband Chris of Odessa, Paul Thomas of Avinger, Texas, Melvin Thomas of Weatherford, Texas, Dody Martin of Avinger, Texas; Thelma Bonner of Maui, HI, and B.J. Kinser of Avinger, Texas; brother, O.B. Hibbs of Burkeburnett, Texas; 23 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Margorie B. Thornton
ODESSA - Margorie B. Thornton, 64 years, died Saturday, January 8, 2005, in Odessa.
Marjie was born January 1, 1941, in Chickesha, OK, to Chester and Vinola Howery. Her family moved to Odessa in 1954, where she attended Bowie Junior High and Odessa High Schools. While attending OHS, she was a member of the Order of the Rainbow for Girls, where she served as Worthy Advisor in 1958 and 1959. She graduated in 1959.
Marjie married
the love of her life, Travis “Bud” Thornton, on March 4, 1961. They were married
37 years. Marjie retired from Odessa College Business Office in 1997. She loved spending time with Bud at their lake place in Brownwood. They enjoyed fishing, spending time with family and friends, and watching the deer from their back porch.
Marjie’s greatest joy was her four grandchildren. They spent countless hours together laughing, playing, sharing and loving. Each grandchild was special to their Mee-Mee Thornton. They loved each other dearly.
Marjie had a wonderful group of friends that she spent lots of time with, laughing and caring for one another. She loved these special girls of the “Six Pack,” Judy Clements, Lou Ann Hitt, Judy (Gibson) Paris, Nita Baldwin and Judith Cain.
Marjie loved her family, her friends and life. She contributed a countless number of smiles and unselfish love to all those who knew her.
Her husband, Travis “Bud” Thornton; and her brother, Chester “Chettie” W. Howery, Jr, both preceded her in death.
Survivors include her parents, Chester and Vinola Howery of Odessa; sons, Greg Thornton and wife Danna of Ozona, Texas; and Jeff Thornton and wife Rhonda of Odessa; four grandchildren, Megan and Mark Thornton of Ozona, Texas; Cassie and Danille Thornton of Odessa; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2005, at First Christian Church with Dr. David Mindel officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

ODESSA - January 7th marks the beginning of a marvelous journey by Marilynn Yost to join her brother Jimmy Lynn and her Granny to help in the building of the house where she will joyously await the arrival of her family and friends in the coming years.
She will someday greet her husband of twenty years, Raymond Yost; son, Wesley Hollowell, and daughter, Lisa Brooks; granddaughters, Stacey Wade and Mikelle Farris; grandsons, Heath Hollowell and Wesley Farris; great-granddaughter, Ashlynn Wade; and great-grandson, Tyler Wade; mother, Geneva Rhodes; sister, Kim Chaney; brothers, Donny Rogers and Danny Rogers; and beloved nieces, nephews and friends.
She was a beautiful soul and could see the best in all and knew the needs of most. She will be missed dearly and never forgotten.
Funeral services will at 2 p.m. Monday, January 10, 2005, in the Lutheran Church of the Risen Lord in Odessa, Texas, 1601 N. Grandview Avenue.
