ABILENE -- Donald William Hewitt, 62, of Abilene, died Saturday, March 28, 1998

Bobby Bailey

CARLSBAD, N.M. -- Bobby Bailey, 16, of Carlsbad, N.M., a sophomore at Carlsbad High School, died Thursday, March 26, 1998, at University Hospital in Lubbock from injuries sustained in a car accident.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at First Assembly of God with the Revs. John Burke, Fred Connell and James McCormick officiating. Burial will be at Carlsbad cemetery. Arrangements by Denton-Funchess Funeral Home.

He was born in Carlsbad, N.M., and moved to Flagstaff, Ariz., before returning to Carlsbad in 1991. He was a member of Grace Outreach Church.

Survivors: Parents, Rick and Juanita Bailey of Carlsbad, N.M.; brothers, Justin Bailey, Ricky Bailey and James Bailey of Carlsbad; maternal grandparents, Jesse and Louise Greene of Carlsbad; paternal grandmother, Agnes Bailey of Carlsbad; and aunt, Phyllis Walker of Odessa.

Yosente Quintela

FORT STOCKTON -- Yosente C. "Chente" Quintela, 88, of Fort Stockton, a laborer, died Friday, March 27, 1998.

Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today at the Fort Stockton Funeral Home Chapel. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Church. Burial will be at St. Joseph cemetery. Arrangements by Fort Stockton Funeral Home.

He was born in Terlingua and was Catholic.

Survivors: Daughters, Victoria Terrazas of Fort Stockton and Enriqueta Quintela of Fort Stockton; brother, Julio Quintela Sr. of Fort Stockton; and several neices and nephews.

Marcelina Montez

ODESSA -- Marcelina Montez, 71, of Odessa, a homemaker, died Friday, March 27, 1998, at her residence.

Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Monday at 612 Crane Street in Odessa. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Odessa. Burial will be at Rosehill cemetery. Arrangements by Martinez Funeral Home.

She was born in Pueblito Vado De Piedra, Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico.

Survivors: Daughters, Rosario Garza of Odessa, Irma Garcia, Gloria Alvarez, Irina Juarez, Alma Tercero, and Cristina Montez, all of Odessa and Marcela Gonzalez of Arizona; sons, Porfirio Garza of Dallas, Roy Garza of El Paso, Victor Garza of Dallas, Jose Alfredo Gonzalez of Brownfield, Manuel Montez of Odessa, Lupe Montez of Odessa; brother, Manuel G. Garcia of Pecos; sister, Gabriela Franco of Odessa; 39 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.

Joe Hagar

PECOS -- Joe M. Hagar, 83, of Pecos, died Saturday, March 28, 1998, at his home.

Services are pending with Pecos Funeral Home.

Roy Adams

ABILENE -- Roy Wade Adams, 71, of Abilene, a retired employee of Atlantic Richfield Company, died Thursday, March 26, 1998, at his residence.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Wylie Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike Patterson officiating. Entombment will be at Elmwood Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Arrangements by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home.

He was born in Richland and moved to Abilene in 1985 from Alaska. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and Baptist.

Survivors: Wife, Jessie Adams of Abilene; daughter, Sherrie Gail Hall of Midland; son, Roy Wade Adams II of Houston; brother, Don Adams of Longview; sister, Janelle Cruger of Prattville, Ala.; and three grandchildren.

William Collom

CARTHAGE -- William Maurice Collom, 63, of Odessa, an oil field worker, died Wednesday, March 25, 1998, at Medical Center Hospital.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Restland Memorial Park. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

He was born in Union County, Ark. He was Baptist.

Survivors: Sisters, Betty Sue Hudson of Oklahoma City and Carol Ann Hildenbrand of Levittown, N.Y.

Valeriano Flores

SHEFFIELD -- Valeriano V. Flores, 74, of Sheffield, a retired janitor and bus driver, died Thursday, March 26, 1998, at Memorial Hospital and Medical Center in Midland.

Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today and Sunday at Good Shepherd Catholic Church. Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Monday at Good Shepherd Catholic Church with the Rev. Henry Laenen officiating. Burial will be at Sheffield cemetery. Arrangements by Richard W. Box Funeral Home.

He was born in Acuna, Coahuila, Mexico, and had been a resident of Sheffield for more than 73 years. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was Catholic.

Survivors: Wife, Mary Flores of Sheffield; sons, Val Flores of Odessa, Joe Flores of Midland, Ruben Flores of McClean, Harvey Flores of Celina, Raul Flores and James Lee Flores, both of Sheffield; daughters, Marta Rivera of San Angelo, Irene Alcala of Odessa, Ester Sanchez of Marfa, Velma Gutierrez of Crane, Lillie Flores of Odessa, Elma Delgado of Wylie, Anna Marie Martinez of Odessa; sister, Jesusa Ramos of Odessa; 38 grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren.

Jewel Nichols

ATLANTA, Texas -- Jewel W. Nichols, 91, of Midland, retired owner of Nichols Garage in Atlanta, Texas, died Friday, March 27, 1998, at a local nursing home.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Hanner Funeral Home Chapel in Atlanta, Texas, with the Rev. James H. Allridge officiating. Burial with masonic graveside services will be at Pine Crest cemetery. Local arrangements by Ellis Funeral Home.

He was born in Bloomburg and moved to Midland in 1996. He was Baptist.

Survivors: Sons, Jimmy Lewis Nichols of Mabel, Minn., Ben H. Nichols of Midland; daughter, Gwen B. Durrenberger of Houston; brothers, S.G. Nichols of Doddridge, Ark., J.B. Nichols of Oakland, Calif., and Earl H. Nichols of Houston; sisters, Louise Owens of Pennsylvania, Ruth Wilbanks and Eleanor Phipot, both of Atlanta, Texas, and Rabie Mustian of Graham; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Judy Stilwell

ANDREWS -- Judy Dickson Stilwell, 50, of Andrews, a school teacher, died Friday, March 27, 1998, at her residence.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at McNett Funeral Home with the Revs. Mike Henson and Don Noble officiating. Burial will be at Andrews Old cemetery. Arrangements by McNett Funeral Home.

She was born in Dalhart. She was Baptist.

Survivors: Husband, Marvin Stilwell of Andrews; daughter, Kathy McIntire of Amarillo; stepson, Jacob Stilwell of San Angelo; brother, Mike Hardin of Washington; and sisters, Martha Noble of Fort Worth, Nancy Simpson and Linda Bills, both of Andrews, and Tommie Young of Houston.

L.D. Brooks

ODESSA -- L.D. Brooks, 73, of Gardendale, a retired bricklayer, died Wednesday, March 25, 1998, at his residence.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. today at Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Robert Berry officiating. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

He was born in Santa Anna and moved to Odessa in 1948. He was an Army veteran.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Betty Carter of Gardendale; sons, Mike Brooks of Odessa, Tony Brooks of West Palm Beach, Fla.; brothers, J.W. Brooks of Pleasant Farms, Gerald Brooks of Fort Davis; Glean Brooks of Granbury; sister, Earlene Barbour of Tulia; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Adam Gonzales

ODESSA -- Adam Ray Gonzales, infant son of Jeronimo and Veronica Gonzales of Odessa, died Wednesday, March 25, 1998, at Medical Center Hospital.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Rose Hill Babyland with the Rev. Gumecindo Flores officiating. Arrangements by Odessa Funeral Home Angeles Memorial Chapel.

He was born in Odessa.

SURVIVORS: Parents; grandparents, Rosa Santillan, Rosario Gonzalez and Ramon Lujan, all of Odessa.
