Presidio - Jose Arenivas, 87, of Fort Stockton, died Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2004, in Presidio.
Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. today at Santa Teresa Catholic Church with the Rev. Lazaro Gonzalez officiating. A rosary was said at 7 p.m. Friday at the church. Burial will be at Desert Hill cemetery.
He was Catholic.
Survivors: Wife, Juanita Arenivas of Presidio; son, Guadalupe Arenivas of Los Angeles; daughters, Petra Arenivas of Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico, and Manuela Arenivas of Los Angeles; and numerous grandchildren.

Jose Bustamante

Odessa - Jose Bustamante, 77, of Odessa, a foreman for a furniture store, died Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2004, at his residence.
Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. today at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. A rosary was said at 7 p.m. Friday at Odessa Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
He was born in Alpine. He was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church.
Survivors: Wife, Marta Bustamante of Odessa; sons, Jody Bustamante of Sherman and Eddie Bustamante and Adolfo Bustamante, both of Odessa; daughters, Elda Hernandez and Elva Gay Wagner, both of Fort Worth; sisters, Cruz Payne and Eulalia Muniz, both of Alpine, Maria Espinoza and Ramona Fierro, both of Odessa, and Ester Sanchez of Lubbock; and nine grandchildren.

Lafoy L. Collins Jr.

Kermit - Lafoy L. Collins Jr., 80, of Abilene, a retired railroad employee, died Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2004 at an Abilene hospital Hospice Care.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Kermit Memorial Park with the Rev. Waymon Childress officiating.
He was born in Mobeetie. He moved to Abilene in 1984 from Odessa. He was Baptist.
Survivors: Wife, Ruth E. Collins of Abilene; son, James L. Collins of Haltom City; daughter, Barbara Ely of Lazbuddie; sisters, Jane Seitz of Mobeetie and Donnie Roan of Carbon; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Marcelina Rodriguez

Grandfalls - Marcelina Rodriguez, 89, of Fort Stockton, died Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2004, in Fort Stockton.
Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. today at St. Gergrude Catholic Church with the Rev. John Lucido officiating. A rosary was said at 7 p.m. Friday at the church. Burial will be at Gamarisk cemetery.
She was born in Boquias. She was Catholic.
Surviviors: Sons, Alfredo “Freddy” Rodriguez of Fort Stockton and Ruben Santiago of Grandfalls; daughters, Alifonsa Huertas of Grandfalls and Anna Velasquez of Fort Stockton; brother, Manuel Santiago of Monahans; sisters, Nina Ornelas of Grandfalls, Leonor Calderon of Odessa and Catarina Campos of Pecos; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Mary Frances Seals

Odessa - Mary Frances Seals, 76, of Odessa, died Thursday, Nov. 25, 2004, in Odessa.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the First Church of God.
She was born in Boonville, Miss. She lived in the Permian Basin since the late 1950s.
Survivors: Husband, Jack Seals of Odessa; sons, Brian Seals of Rowlett and Alan Seals of Midland; and one grandchild.

Jimmy Dean Self

Odessa - Jimmy Dean Self, 42, of Odessa, died Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2004, in Odessa.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Jimmy Hull officiating.
He was born in Odessa.
SURVIVORS: Sons, Joshua Self and Tyler Self, both of Fort Worth; daughter, Ashley Self of Fort Worth; mother, Faye Self of Fort Worth; and sisters, Tina Self of Fort Worth and Sherri Self of Tulsa, Okla.

Ethel Snell

Odessa - Ethel Snell, 92, of Rankin, a cook, died Thursday, Nov. 25, 2004, at Comanche Community Hospital in Comanche.
Services will be at 1 p.m. today at Sunset Memorial Gardens Chapel with the Rev. Bob Bratcher officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
She was born in Blanket. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Rankin.
Survivors: Daughters, Freda Whisenant of Lamesa, and Jo Ann Woodard of Sidney; sons, Jack Snell of Rankin and Charles Snell of Sidney; sister, Nell Thorn of Malvern, Ark.; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

MONAHANS - Milton Land Duncan, 81, of Monahans, an engineer in the oil industry, died Monday, Nov. 15, 2004, at Avalon Place.

He was born in Fort Stockton.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Billie Duncan of Odessa; daughter, Jamie Bradshaw of Poquoson, Va.; brothers, Dean Duncan of College Station and Baxter Duncan of Sun City, Ariz.; one grandchild; and two great-grandchildren.

Jeanette Bowden Mehaffey

ODESSA - Jeanette Bowden Mehaffey, 77, of Odessa, a real estate and stock broker, died Sunday, Nov. 14, 2004, at Medical Center Hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Westminster Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Cheryl Homsher officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
She was born in Santa Anna. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Rose of Sharon Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. J.W. Hanson officiating. Burial will be at Ector County cemetery.
She was born in Blooming Grove.
SURVIVORS: Son, Robert Lenford Jr. of Raleigh, N.C.; sister, Herline Rosemond of Odessa; brother, Jimmie Dale Graham of Dalhart; and one grandchild.

ANDREWS - C.C. “Sonny” Shortes, 90, of Andrews, a farmer, died Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2004, at Permian Regional Medical Center in Andrews.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at McNett Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Ben Chenault and Jason Connor officiating. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Trinity Memorial Park in Big Spring.
He was born in Big Spring. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Alta Garrett Shortes of Andrews; sons, Jarrell Shortes and Calvert Shortes, both of Andrews; sister, Shirley Owens of Dallas; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
