Odessa - Betty Glenn Ramage-Garvin, 83, passed away, Saturday, Jan. 22, 2005, at Hospice House of Odessa.
Betty was employed with Bill Sears Supermarkets of Odessa for 34-plus years as bookkeeper/executive secretary; Betty retired in the spring of 1987. She was also a member of American Business Women’s Association for 40 years.
Betty was born Jan. 12, 1922, in Omaha, Morris County, to Robert Hart Ramage and Helen Merle Ramage. She married
William Nelson “Bill” Garvin in Ruidoso, New Mexico, on Nov. 13, 1964. Sadly Bill preceded her in death on Sept. 29, 1987.
Betty is survived by daughters, Vicki “Sissy” McClure of Richardson, and Sarah “Cathy” Catherine McClure of Odessa; son, Rusty “Bug” Nelson Garvin and wife, Dawna, of Kerrville; granddaughters, Cynthia Rene Carruth and Rusty Glenn Ikler; grandson, Mason T. Ford; and great-granddaughter, Johnna Cathryn Carruth.

Odessa - Mary Sue Melton, 78, of Odessa, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2005, at Medical Center Hospital. She was born in Davidson, Okla.
She worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company and retired in 1984. She was a member of Saint Andrews Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She married
Jack L. Melton Dec. 16, 1949, in Clovis, N.M.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Melton, her parents, Joe and Floy Gregg; and her sister, Lonnie Allen.
She is survived by her son, Joe Melton and wife, Nina, of Odessa, four grandchldren, Jack Melton, Sharon Lyssy, Nathan Washburn and Rebecca Brown; four great-grandchildren; family member, Charlotte Melton; lifelong friend, Maurine Cole; and niece and several nephews.
Graveside services will be at 3:30 p.m. Friday, January 28, 2005, at Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Jimmy Braswell officiating.

She was born March 24, 1941, in Caldwell. She was a retired Assistant Fire Marshal for the City of Odessa and a member of the Church Of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her father, Jeff Leo Sims; and brothers, Herman Lee Sims and Melvin Parker.
She is survived by her mother, Andrew Bell Sims of Palmdale, Calif.; son, Anthony Reed and wife, Jerri, of Odessa; daughter, Cheryl Lincoln of Midland; eight brothers, Jeff Leo Sims Jr., Aurthur Sims, Bennie Sims, and Kevin Sims, all of Caldwell, Mark Sims of Dallas, Craig Sims and Boyce Sims, both of Palmdale, Calif., and Thurman Sims of Christmas; nine sisters, Rita Henderson, Ester Johnson, Ada Green, Arjustice Morris and Jackie Clark, all of Caldwell, Ester Williams of Altadena, Calif., Patricia Sims of Oakland, Calif., Dorcas Sims of Odessa, and Johnnie Wilkham of Houston; two grandchildren, Kevin Jamal Brooks of Midland, and Caroline Rose “Sunshine” Reed of Odessa; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Odessa - Gene Thomas Walsh, 77, of Odessa, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2005, at Medical Center Hospital.
He was born Nov. 4, 1927, in Ranger. He married
Dorothy L. Smith Aug. 26, 1952, in Clovis, N.M.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Dean, Cline, Pug and Gloyd Walsh and sister, Juanita Bawcom.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Walsh of Odessa; daughters, Paula Hicks and husband, John, of Plano, and Patti Pankey of Odessa; sisters, Violet Betts of Helena, Mont., and Lillie Mae Steen of Odessa; and two grandchildren, John and Kirsten Pankey of Odessa.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 28, 2005, at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
