Virginia Ruth Allday
Odessa - Virginia Ruth Allday, 85, passed away Tuesday January 18, 2005 at Medical Center Hospital.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. today at Sunset Memorial Gardens. A memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Friday at Westminster Presbyterian with the Rev. Bob Sams officiating.
Virginia was born August 7, 1919, in Davilla, Milam County, Texas, to Bruce and Anna Jennings. She graduated from Texas Tech in 1942 with a B.S. degree in Home Economics Education. She married
Edgar Allday on June 28, 1942, in Austin, Texas. She worked as a teacher in Cameron and Georgetown schools and a registrar for Odessa High School in 1955. She retired in 1966 as the executive secretary for Odessa United Fund. Virginia was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, Mildred Fly Garden Club, Medical Center Hospital Auxiliary and the American Legion Auxiliary.
She is preceded in death by her husband, daughter Julianna Allday and sister Helen Key.
She is survived by her son Jim Allday and wife Christine of Austin and granddaughter Caitlin Meredith Allday of Austin.
Memorials can be made to Westminster Presbyterian Church or Women’s Auxiliary at Medical Center Hospital.

Pat Coker
Midland - Pat Coker, of Midland, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2005.
She was born July 11, 1916, to Clarence and Quilla Scott and was raised and educated in Brown County. On Jan. 7, 1950, she married
Charles Ray Coker of Odessa. The couple celebrated 54 years of marriage while living in the Greenwood community. She worked for Furr’s Super Market for 17 years before retiring. Pat was an active member of the Greenwood Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening and was member of the Prairie Lee Home Demonstration Club of Midland. Pat made beautiful quilts and loved helping people in need. One of her most memorable moments was fishing with her husband and neighbors at Port Aransas.
Pat has gone to be with the Lord and will be missed by all.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her son, Truman Phillips.
Pat is survived by her three children, Jackie Coker Hamilton of Midland, Billie June Neatherlin of Midland, Maylene Hilbun of Brownwood; brother, Hollis Joseph Scott of Victoria; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at Ellis Funeral Home today between the hours of 6 p.m. and 8 p.m.

Nedell ‘Dale’ Lane
Odessa - Nedell “Dale” Lane, 81, of Odessa, went home to be with the Lord Jan. 19, 2005. She resided at Avalon Place. Dale was a well-known business woman. She successfully owned Dale’s Catering Service for 40 years. She entered this earth Jan. 21, 1923, the daughter of Henry C. Jones and Sudie Elizabeth in Hassey, Tx.
She was preceded in death by her loving parents; brother, Elwin Raye Jones; sister, Willie May Watts; and daughter, Barbara Ann Lane.
Dale is survived by daughter, Betty Totzke and husband, Donald, of Odessa; son, Jackie Dale Lane of Snyder; granddaughters, Rachel Kevil and husband, Kyle, of Austin, Brandy Watts of Odessa, and Danielle Lane of Midland; great-grandchildren, Katie Watts of Odessa, Jaret Kevil of Austin, and Jayce Lozano of Midland; sisters, Faye Grissom of Odessa, Neva Floyd of Marble Falls, Lou Evans of Proctor; brother, Jimmie Jones of Odessa; and many nieces and nephews.
Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 22, 2005, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jeff Box officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Manuela H. Ornelas
Odessa - Manuela H. Ornelas, 69 years of age, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 15, 2005, at her Odessa residence.
She was born on June 11, 1935, in Terlingua. She was formerly of Artesia, N.M. She moved to Odessa in 1993. She was of Christian Faith and a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents Manuel and Elauteria Hinojos, son; Augustin Ornelas, brother; Jose Maria Hinojos.
She is survived by her sons, Felipe Ornelas, Raymundo Ornelas, Oscar Ornelas, Trinidad Ornelas, Moises Hinojos, all of Odessa, and Adan Ornelas of Denver, Co.; brothers; Robert Hinojos of Odessa, and Jose Hinojos of Marfa, sisters; Hillaria Rios of Odessa, Maria de la Rosa of Oregon, Alicia Catano and Lucia Catano of Fresno, Calif.; 35 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and lots of nieces and nephews.
Graveside services have been set for today at 10 a.m. at Rose Hill cemetery with the Reverend Jay Mayo of Odyssey Hospice officiating.
