Justo Tarango

PECOS -- Justo Tarango, 67, of Pecos, a retired truck driver, died Monday, March 23, 1998, at Reeves County Hospital.

Rosary was said March 24, 1998, at Martinez Funeral Home Chapel. Mass was celebrated March 25, 1998, at Santa Rosa Catholic Church. Burial was at Greenwood cemetery. Arrangements by Martinez Funeral Home.

He was a lifetime resident of Pecos. He was Catholic.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Cecilia Natividad Tarango of Pecos; sons, Abel Tarango and Arthur Tarango, both of Pecos; step-son, David Natividad of Kermit; brothers, Ramon Tarango and Felix Tarango, both of Odessa, Alex Tarango of Pecos; sisters, Elfida Lujan of Arlington, Elena Ortega of Pecos; and six grandchildren.

W. "Rex" Thames

JAL, N.M. -- W. "Rex" Thames, 35, of Jal, N.M., an auto fleet mechanic for Fulfer Electric Company, died Monday, March 23, 1998, at University Medical Center in Lubbock.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. today at First Baptist Church with the Revs. Jim Green and G.M. Magee officiating. Burial will be at Jal cemetery. Arrangements by Calvary Funeral Home.

He was born in Kermit and moved to Jal, N.M., in 1996 from Phoenix.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Kelly Thames of Jal, N.M.; sons, Kyle Thames and Casey Thames, both of Jal, N.M.; mother, Jacqueline Thames of Jal, N.M.; and brother, Tim Thames of Midland.

Malcolm Wagner

ELKTON, Md. -- Malcolm Wagner, 81, of Odessa, a retired supply supervisor for the Pennsylvania Turnpike, died Wednesday, March 25, 1998, at his residence.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. April 2 at Gee Funeral Home. Burial will be at Hephzibah cemetery in Coatsville, Penn. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

Hew was born in Modena, Penn., and moved to Odessa in 1995 from Red Point, Md.

SURVIVORS: Son, Malcolm Norman Wagner of Amber, Penn.; daughter, Christine Furstenberg of Odessa; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Addie Shellhouse

ODESSA -- Addie Shellhouse, 83, of Odessa, died Wednesday, March 25, 1998, at Odessa Regional Hospital.

Services are pending with Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

Alyne Carrigan

LAFAYETTE, Calif. -- Alyne R. Carrigan, 86, of Concord, Calif., died Wednesday, March 18, 1998, in San Leandro, Calif.

Graveside services were held March 21, 1998, at Oakmont Memorial Park. Arrangements by Oakmont Mortuary in Lafayette, Calif.

She was born in Texas and was a longtime resident of Concord, Calif.

SURVIVORS: Sisters, Francis Brown, Dorothy Tennis and Joann Cheatham, all of Odessa; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Roberto Gallardo

ODESSA -- Roberto Morquecho "Pelon" Gallardo Jr., 37, of Odessa died Monday, March 23, 1998, at his residence.

Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today at Martinez Funeral Home Chapel. Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. David Herrera officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill cemetery. Arrangements by Martinez Funeral Home.

He was born in Odessa. He was Catholic.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Nancy Gallardo of Odessa; mother, Narcissa Gallardo of Odessa; son, Roberto C. Gallardo III of Odessa; daughter, Valerie Ann C. Gallardo of Odessa; brothers, Bobby Gallardo and Ruben Gallardo, both of Seguin and Santos Gallardo of Odessa; sisters, Gloria Hinojos and Diana Gallardo, both of Odessa.

James Hood

ODESSA -- James Donald Hood, 58, of Odessa, died Monday, March 23, 1998, at his residence.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Rose Hill cemetery with the Rev. Dick Brown officiating. Arrangements by Odessa Funeral Home Angeles Memorial Chapel.

He was born in Akron, Ohio.

SURVIVORS: Sons, George Hood and Tom Hood, both of Akron, Ohio; daughters, Lori Hood of Akron, Ohio, Barb Board of the United Kingdom; step-daughter, Yvette Riley of Cinncinati, Ohio; mother, Frances Hood of Odessa; brothers, Gerald Hood of Barberton, Ohio; sister, Judy MacMullan and June Baumann, both of Odessa; and six grandchildren.

William Israel

ODESSA -- William Edward Israel, 65, of Odessa, a retired oilfield worker, died Sunday, March 22, 1998, at Veterans' Medical Center in Big Spring.

Services will be held at a later date. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

He was born in Phoenix, Ariz. He was Baptist.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Rebecca Israel of Odessa; son, Keith Walker of Odessa; brother, Earle Israel of Texas; sister, Lovella Teston of Odessa; and four grandchildren.

Delmer James

RANGER -- Delmer Lee James, 86, of Odessa, a retired employee of Gulf Oil Company, died Monday, March 23, 1998, at Medical Center Hospital.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Evergreen cemetery. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

He was born in Lorena and was a longtime resident of Odessa. He was Baptist.

SURVIVORS: Sister, Eva Eugene Blackwell of Abilene; one grandchild and one great-grandchild.

W.L. Lewis

ANDREWS -- W.L. Lewis, 92, of Andrews, a retired farmer, welder, oilfield worker and janitor, died Tuesday, March 24, 1998, at Permian General Hospital.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at McNett Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. H.A. Hanks officiating. Burial will be at Andrews Old cemetery. Arrangements by McNett Funeral Home Inc.

He was born in Sulphur Springs and moved to Andrews in 1952. He was Baptist.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Carrie M. Lewis of Andrews; sons, Marvin Lewis of Amarillo, David Lewis of Andrews, Ralph Lewis of Odessa; daughter, Genevieve Townsend of Crane; sisters, Gurtha May Holcomb of Lamesa, Johnnie Doris Bird of Seagraves, Maudine Gray of Indio, Calif.; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Jewell McNeil

PECOS -- Jewell Florence McNeil, 83, of Pecos, died Sunday, March 22, 1998, at Sierra Medical Center in El Paso.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. today at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Greer Willis officiating. Burial will be at Fairview cemetery. Arrangements by Pecos Funeral Home.

She was born in Oklahoma and had lived in Pecos since 1947. She was baptist.

SURVIVORS: Sons, Floyd James McNeil of King Island, W.C. "Dub" McNeil of Horizon City, Jimmy Don McNeil of Presidio; seven grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
