ODESSA — Sierra Rennee Mendez, infant daughter of Luisa Molina and Sergio Mendez, both of Odessa, died Friday, Dec. 3, 1999, at Medical Center Hospital.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. today at Rose Hill cemetery. Arrangements by Martinez Funeral Home.
She was born in Odessa.
SURVIVORS: Parents, Sergio Mendez and Susie Molina; brother, Joshua Issac Mendez of Odessa; grandparents, Aracely Gonzales, Sergio Mendez Sr. and Diana Mendez, all of Odessa.

Bibiano Ramirez
ODESSA — Bibiano Ramirez, 87, of Odessa, a retired construction worker, died Sunday, Dec. 5, 1999, in Marfa.
Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Gilbert Rodriguez officiating. Rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. today at Martinez Funeral Home. Arrangements by Martinez Funeral Home.
He was born in Presidio and has been a resident of Odessa since 1960. He was Catholic.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Juana Ramirez, of Odessa; sons, Filomeno Ramirez, Artemio Ramirez and Ramiro Ramirez, all of Odessa; daughters, Eduvijes Rodriguez, Bertha Almanse and Manuela Madrid, all of Odessa; sister, Gregoria Lujan, of Pecos; 39 grandchildren; and 59 great-grandchildren.

Susie Roberts
ODESSA — Susie Alline Roberts, 71, of Odessa, a homemaker, died Friday, Dec. 3, 1999, at Medical Center Hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Sunset Memorial Chapel. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
She was born in Texas and had been a resident of Odessa for 40 years.
SURVIVORS: Sons, Tommy Jay Roberts, Carl Rodney Roberts and Earl Barnett Roberts, all of Odessa; brother, Gene Bryan, of San Angelo; sisters, Fannie Bryan of San Angelo, Thelma Tuscana of Odessa, Ruby Deadrick of Rockport, Mae Bryan and LaVeda Bryan, both of California, and Alma Moore of Missouri; four grandchildren; five step grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Wanda Roberts
ODESSA — Wanda Mae Roberts, 86, of Odessa, a homemaker, died Monday, Dec. 6, 1999, at Avalon Nursing Home.
Memorial services are scheduled for a later date. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
She was born in Bonham and moved to Odessa in 1988 from Sacramento, Calif. She was Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Sons, Bob Roberts of Odessa, Don L. Roberts of Sacramento; sisters, Marie Carson of Sacramento, Reba Frank of Fair Oaks, Calif., and Zorene Barr of Portland, Ore.; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Doris Whidden
SANDERSON — Doris Marie Whidden, 65, of Sanderson, a homemaker, died Saturday, Dec. 4, 1999, in Odessa.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. at Cedar Grove cemetery with Alex Sable officiating. Arrangements by Fort Stockton Funeral Home.
She was born in Ochalata, Okla., and had been a resident of Sanderson since 1979. She was a Jehovah’s Witness.

Whidden Jr., of Woodbridge, Va.; sister, Joyce Aughe, of Bonny Lake, Wash.; brothers, Bill Loghry of Sanderson, Fred Loghry of Napo, Idaho, Charles Loghry of Portland, Ore., Harold Loghry of Resaca, Ga., and John Loghry of Naples, Fla.

ODESSA — Geneva Brookins, 73, of Odessa, died Sunday, Dec. 5, 1999, at her residence.

ODESSA — Robert Hall, 70, of Odessa, died Sunday, Dec. 5, 1999, at his residence.

Herman L. Brents
Odessa - There is nothing that love cannot face. There is no limit to its hope, its faith and its endurance.
Herman Luke Brents, 77, of Odessa, passed away Thursday, March 10, 2005, at Hospice House.
Herman was born July 23, 1927, to Jeff Otto Brents and Viola Gracie Sweet in Archer City. He was raised in Vega and graduated in 1946.
He moved from Amarillo to Odessa in 1965 and then to Amarillo again in the late 1980s before coming back to Odessa in 1998. He retired several years ago from the wholesale food industry.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 12, at Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Rev. E. Barnard officiating.
Herman was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Evon Lusk; brothers, Leon, Louie, Jeff Odell and Forrest Brents.
Herman is survived by his brother, Tom Brents of Liberty; mother of our children, Marie Cox of Odessa; daughters, Sue Hanna and husband, Richard, of Amarillo, Sandy Beasley and husband, Charlie, of Midland, Brenda Hanks and husband, Tony, and Becca Brents, both of Odessa. Herman is also survived by five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
The family wishes to thank Nurses Unlimited and Home Hospice for their excellent care.
Services are entrusted to Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.

Floyd E. ‘Pete’ Bryant
Kerrville - The Lord has called home Floyd E. “Pete” Bryant. Although we will miss his infectious grin and good humor, his loving support of his family, his bravery and courage through so many difficult times, we rejoice in the knowledge that he is now with his Savior, The Lord Jesus Christ and that he is no longer constrained by the infirmities that have bound him these past few years. When Pete was 24 years old, he made the most important decision of his life, which was to trust Jesus as his Lord and Savior. The Lord has been his strength all through the years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Lillie Bryant; and four brothers, John “Dub” Jr., Leahmon, Winston and Jimmy Douglas Bryant.
He is survived by his wife, Billie Frances Palm Bryant; two sons, Bob “Booger” Bryant and wife, Colette, and Bill Bryant and wife, Gail; grandchildren, Barbie Cooke and husband, D.C., Bobbi, Caleb, Daniel, Merissa, Matthew, Erica and Emma Bryant, Julie Fenton, Misty Brown and Chelsea Wickersham; and four great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Betty Lee and husband, Charlie, of Granbury; and his brother-in-law, Ed Palm and wife, Rita, of Fort Worth; nieces and nephews; cousins; and many precious friends. He always delighted in visiting with his family and his extended family.
Pete was born and raised in Abilene. He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. After residing 37 years in Ector County, he and his wife moved to Kerrville to be near both sons and their families. He loved the auction business and took early retirement from Texaco Inc., so he could devote full-time to auctioneering. He was president of the Texas Auctioneers Association in 1990-1991. In 1993, he was inducted into the Texas Auctioneers Hall of Fame. He was an ordained deacon and a member of Trinity Baptist Church and the Jubilee Sunday School Class, where he had so many loving and caring friends who were so faithful to pray for him during his many trying and difficult times. He always had a smile and a hug for his church family.
Graveside rites will be at 11 a.m. today at Garden of Memories. A worship and praise service will be at 2 p.m. today at Trinity Baptist Church to celebrate his “going home” with the Rev. Len Hartley and the Dr. John Petty officiating.

Carolyn Langford Firebaugh
Odessa - Carolyn Langford Firebaugh, 61, of Odessa, passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2005. She left this earth while at home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born January 28, 1944, in McCamey to S.O. and Inez Langford. As a bus driver for both ECISD and EZ Rider in Odessa, she enjoyed one of her greatest pleasures, meeting new people. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Post No. 4372 and the Church Of Christ.
Carolyn will always be loved and remembered as a kind and generous person by those whose lives she touched. She often made sacrifices by putting her friends needs before her own. She opened her heart and saw the good in everyone she met. Her husband, Forrest Leroy Gray, and her parents preceded her in death.
She is survived by her daughter, Joyce Reed and husband, Frank, their son, Corbin; and their daughter, Misty Bassham of Visalia, Calif; daughter, Elizabeth Markham and husband, Marcus, of Fort Carson, Colo.; and their daughters, Erin and Tiffany; her son, Jay Firebaugh and wife, Sunny; and their children, Laura and Andrew of San Antonio; her son, Richard Gray and wife, Patricia; and their son, Bryce of Odessa; her brothers, Roger Langford, Thomas Langford and James Langford, all of Odessa, and Robert Langford of Hobbs, N.M.; sister, Rovena Henslee of Odessa; nieces, Shirley Bruce, Sharon Kenyon and Cynthia Ruvalcaba; nephew, David Langford. Carolyn also had an extended family that included three stepchildren; and their eight children of Colorado. The song has ended, but the melody lingers on.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 12, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Griffin Jones officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Lawrence E. ‘Larry’ McColloch
Odessa - Lawrence E. “Larry” McColloch, 84, of Odessa, died Saturday, March 5, 2005, at the Lamun-Lusk-Sanchez Texas Veterans Home in Big Spring.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 12, at the First United Methodist Church in Odessa with the Rev. Blossom Matthews officiating.
He was born Aug. 20, 1920, in Burlington, Iowa, and married Beverly Williams Jan. 4, 1981, in Odessa.
Larry graduated from Burlington High School in Burlington, Iowa, in 1939. He attended Texas Tech University on a basketball scholarship, and received his Bachelor’s degree. He served in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II and in 1946, he received his Master’s degree in Education from Texas Tech.
Larry moved to Memphis in 1946. He taught and was head basketball coach at Memphis High School for three years. In 1949, his team won the State Championship and he was named “Coach of the Year.” He then moved to Big Spring where he taught and coached for three years at the high school. In 1952, he moved to Odessa and was the head basketball coach, Athletic Director and Chairman of the Physical Education Department at Odessa College, retiring in 1989. He was the second person inducted into the Odessa College Hall of Honor May 5, 1998.
He had many hobbies including dancing, hunting arrowheads, rock polishing, making jewelry and wood carving.
Larry was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Odessa and the Wesley Sunday School Class. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 955 in Odessa and had been a Mason for over 60 years, and was a member of the MCH Auxiliary for over 10 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Bertha McColloch; and one brother, Edward McColloch.
Survivors include his wife, Beverly McColloch of Odessa; two sons and daughters-in-law, Kevin and Debbie McColloch of Houston, and David and Terri McColloch of Greenwood; six grandchildren, David, Jennifer, Melissa, Michael, A. J. and Blake; four stepchildren, Kenneth Williams of Atlanta, Texas, Janice Williams-Leyba of Mons, Belgium, Barbara and John Monrad of Southlake, and Joel and Brenda Williams of Caddo Mills; 14 step-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Bonnie Sullivan of Des Moines, Iowa.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to, First United Methodist Church, Children’s Clothes Closet, 415 N. Lee, Odessa, TX, 79761.

Janice Faye Lehman
ODESSA - Janice Faye Lehman, 60, of Odessa passed away Wednesday, March 9, 2005, at the Hospice House after a yearlong battle with cancer.
Jan was born September 20, 1944, to Mary Stanley and Wayne Phillips in Oklahoma City. She married Dale Lehman on August 26, 1962. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She enjoyed spending time at the lake and ranch with her family and her faithful dog, Clancy.
Jan shared her husband’s love of the sport of Judo and helped him start the Odessa Boys Club Judo Team in 1964. Together they dedicated their time and shared their lives with many young men and women not only teaching them Judo but discipline and self respect.
She was preceded in death by her father and grandmother, Villa May Loum.
She is survived by her husband, Dale; her mother and stepfather, Mary and O.E. Stanley; daughter, Tish Nash and her husband Mark; sons, Tosh Lehman and wife Sofia, and Yosh Lehman; two grandchildren, Zane and Keenan Nash; brother-in-law, Richard Lehman and his wife Chris, and their daughters, Melissa, Melinda and Melonie.
She will be dearly missed by family, friends and Judo family.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 12, 2005, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be sent to: American Cancer Society, Hospice House, Odessa Boys and Girls Club, or Texas Judo Fund.

Mary Irene ‘Renie’ Stanford
Odessa - Mary Irene “Renie” Stanford, 74, longtime resident of Odessa, passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2005, at Medical Center Hospital.
She was born April 22, 1930, in Comanche to James Madison and Mary Alma Gilliam. She married George Stanford Nov. 17, 1949, in Odessa. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church, and the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary. She was also twice past president and woman of the year of the Roadrunner Chapter of the A.B.W.A. She also delivered Meals On Wheels. She also had worked for Kenneth Esmond Civil Engineers, where she was a bookkeeper for 12 years and was a past manager of the Postal Credit Union. She enjoyed sewing and had made many quilts for her family. She made many of her and her daughter’s clothes. She enjoyed traveling. She contributed to the Door Of Hope and the American Cancer Society regularly.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Joshua Paul Trekell; nine brothers; and five sisters.
She is survived by her husband, George Stanford of Odessa; son, Bill Stanford and wife, Becky, of Odessa, daughter, Theresa Lynne Trekell and husband, Don, of Dallas; three grandchildren, Scott Stanford and wife, Shelly, Emily Dawn Trekell and Allison Wendt.
After many, many years of suffering from macular degeneration and pulmonary disorder, Granny now can see clearly and breathe deeply within the confines of her Heavenly Father.
Funeral services will be at noon Saturday, March 12, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Griffin Jones officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers Memorials may be made to the Audio Visual Books for the Blind at the Ector County Library or Temple Baptist Church Missionary Fund.
Services are entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

Ronald Dean ‘Ronnie’ Gillihan
Midland - Ronald Dean “Ronnie” Gillihan, 57, of Midland, passed away Thursday, March 10, 2005, in a local hospital.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 12, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Chapel, 3800 N. Big Spring St., Midland, with the Rev. Dudley Mullins officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park in Big Spring.
He was born April 23, 1947, in Big Spring to Doyle Mitchell and Faye Marie Gillihan. He married Nelda Kinsey Sikes on October 15, 1993, in Alpine.
He was preceded in death by his parents Doyle Mitchell and Faye Marie Gillihan.
Survivors include his wife, Nelda Gillihan of Midland; one son, Kenneth Wayne Gillihan of Converse; one daughter, Deborah Ann Gillihan of Odessa; one stepson, Clifton Sikes of Midland; one stepdaughter, Kindra Holder of Mandeville, La.; a sister and brother-in-law, Annette and Ross Smith of Granbury; and six grandchildren, Chelsea Gillihan, Keali Gillihan, Kinsey Holder, Jeff Holder, Austin Sikes and Chris Clardy.
Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home and Crematory of Midland.

Alma ‘Sue’ Hall
Imperial - Alma “Sue” Hall, 63, of Imperial, died Tuesday, March 15, 2005, in Presidio.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Assembly of God of Imperial with Dean Duckett officiating. Burial will be at Imperial cemetery. Arrangements are by Heritage Funeral Home of Monahans.
Survivors Husband, Billy Jack Hall of Imperial; daughter, Jacqueline Elizabeth Williams of Jacksonville, Ore.; brother: Thurmond Conner of Fort Stockton; and one grandchild.
