He was born in Odessa and was member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. Rudy was a High Brass Lieutenant and member of the 2004-2005 All City Band. He was also a member of the Odessa Boxing Club and the Select Team of the Outlaws Baseball Club — he was their catcher.
