ODESSA -- Robert Earl Baker, 67, of Odessa, died Monday, March 23, 1998, in Odessa.

Funeral services are pending with Odessa Funeral Home Angeles Memorial Chapel.

Roberto Gallardo

ODESSA -- Roberto "Pelon" Gallardo, 37, of Odessa, died Monday, March 23, 1998, at his residence.

Funeral services are pending with Martinez Funeral Home.

James Hood

ODESSA -- James Donald Hood, 58, of Odessa, died Monday, March 23, 1998, at his residence.

Funeral services are pending with Odessa Funeral Home Angeles Memorial Chapel.

Florence McNeil

ODESSA -- Florence McNeil, 83, of Pecos, died Sunday, March 22, 1998, in El Paso.

Funeral services are pending with Pecos Funeral Home.

Severo Escajeda

FORT STOCKTON -- Severo "Cookie" Escajeda, 69, of Fort Stockton, a retired maintenance supervisor at Firestone Test Track, died Friday, March 20, 1998, at Pecos County Memorial Hospital.

Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. tonight at Fort Stockton Funeral Home Chapel. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Agnes Catholic Church with the Rev. Jim Chaumont officiating. Burial will be at East Hill cemetery in Fort Stockton. Arrangements by Fort Stockton Funeral Home.

He was born in Oakland, Calif., and he was a U.S. Marine. He was Catholic.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Dominga Escajeda of Fort Stockton; sons, Orlando Escajeda of Odessa, Jimmy Escajeda, Armando Escajeda, Cookie Escajeda and Cesar Escajeda, all of Fort Stockton; daughter, Maris Escajeda of Midland; brothers, Antonio Escajeda of Pomona, Calif. and Lupe Escajeda of Van Horn; 15 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Ethel Russell

ODESSA -- Ethel Edwina Ward Haner Russell, 97, of Odessa, a retired English teacher, died Saturday, March 21, 1998, at Medical Center Hospital.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Hubbard-Kelly Chapel. Burial will be at Resthaven cemetery. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

She was born in Scurry County, and she earned a master of arts degree from the University of Texas in 1931. She was a member of First Baptist Church.

She is survived by the grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren of Frank Haner of Odessa.

Jettie Salmon

ODESSA -- Jettie Mae Salmon, 85, of Odessa, a co-founder of G.Q. Salmon & Son, died Sunday, March 22, 1998, at Derrings Nursing Home.

Graveside services will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Revs. Ernest Easley and John S. Rosco officiating. Arrangements by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.

She was born in Olney and married Guy Q. Salmon in 1931. She was a member of First Baptist Church, the Hospital Auxillary and Eastern Star.

SURVIVORS: Son, Tommy Salmon Sr. of Odessa; brother, J.C. Akers of Mendon, La.; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

William Israel

ODESSA -- William Israel, 66, of Odessa, died Sunday, March 22, 1998, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Big Spring.

Services are pending with Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

Waldine Lane

ODESSA -- Waldine Powell Lane, 87, of Odessa, died Sunday, March 22, 1998, at her residence.

Services are pending with Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

T.A. Taylor

ODESSA -- T.A. Taylor, 55, of Odessa, died Saturday, March 21, 1998, at Medical Center Hospital.

Services are pending with Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.

Max Clarke

JAL, N.M. -- Max E, Clarke, 78, of Jal, a retired electrician, died Friday, March 20, 1998, at Kermit Memorial Hospital.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church in Jal, N.M., with the Revs. Patti Butts and Don McNerlin officiating. Burial will be at Jal cemetery. Arrangements by Calvary Funeral Home.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and a member of First United Methodist Church.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Billie Clarke of Jal; son, Arthur B. Clarke of Odessa; daughter, Ceri Stevens of Columbia, Mo.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Edna Green

ODESSA -- Edna J. Green, 83, of Odessa, a retired food server, died Friday, March 20, 1998, at her residence.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Ector County cemetery with the Rev. Jimmy Braswell officiating. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

She was born in Glenwood, Ark., and she moved to Odessa in 1951.

SURVIVORS: Son, James Wayne Green of Odessa; daughter, Patsy Junell Yancy of Brownwood; and two grandchildren.

Frank Johnson Jr.

ODESSA -- Frank Johnson Jr., 57, of Odessa, died Thursday, March 19, 1998, at Medical Center Hospital.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hubbard-Kelly Chapel with the Rev. Roy Gentry officiating. Burial will be at Rosehill cemetery. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

He was born October 2, 1940, in Clarksville.

SURVIVORS: Daughter, Beverly Johnson of Plainview; brothers, Richard Johnson and Arthur Wayne Wooley, both of Grand Prairie, Don Johnson of Columbus, Ga., and Douglas Johnson of Houston; sisters, Mamie Macon of Fort Worth and Lois Jackson of Plainview.

Ramona Ruiz

LAMESA -- Ramona Ramirez Ruiz, 66, of Lamesa, a retired farm worker, died Thursday, March 19, 1998, at University Medical Center in Lubbock.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. tonight at Guajardo Funeral Chapels. Burial will be at Lamesa cemetery. Arrangements by Guajardo Funeral Chapels.

She was born in Snyder, and she was a member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church.

SURVIVORS: Husband, Domingo Marquez Ruiz of Lamesa; sons, Antonio Ruiz of Midland, Raul Ruiz of Odessa, Isidro Ruiz of Midland, Martin Ruiz of Oklahoma City, Okla.; daughter, Irma Ruiz of Waco, Ramona Escalon of Plainview and Dominga Hernandez of Lamesa; brothers, Mario Ramirez, Ruben Ramirez and Jose Ramirez, all of Midland, Baldomero Ramirez and Salvador Ramirez, both of Roswell, N.M., and Ricardo Ramirez of Kermit; sisters, Lucia Gonzales, Olga Jimenez, Maria Elena Quiroz, Armida Quiroz and Zulema Quiroz, all of Midland, Gloria Rodriguez of Artesia, N.M., and Margarita Bibero of Acuna, Mexico; 21 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
