FORT STOCKTON -- Severo "Cookie" Escajeda, 69, of Fort Stockton, a retired maintenance supervisor at Firestone Test Track, died Friday, March 20, 1998, at Pecos County Memorial Hospital.
Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. tonight at Fort Stockton Funeral Home Chapel. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Agnes Catholic Church with the Rev. Jim Chaumont officiating. Burial will be at East Hill cemetery in Fort Stockton. Arrangements by Fort Stockton Funeral Home.
He was born in Oakland, Calif., and he was a U.S. Marine. He was Catholic.

ODESSA -- Ethel Edwina Ward Haner Russell, 97, of Odessa, a retired English teacher, died Saturday, March 21, 1998, at Medical Center Hospital.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Hubbard-Kelly Chapel. Burial will be at Resthaven cemetery. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
She was born in Scurry County, and she earned a master of arts degree from the University of Texas in 1931. She was a member of First Baptist Church.
She is survived by the grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren of Frank Haner of Odessa.
