Roy Knott

EUNICE, N.M. -- Roy Knott, 91, of Eunice, N.M., a retired lease operator for ARCO, died Sunday, June 7, 1998, at Medical Center Hospital.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Tommy Jared officiating. Burial will be at Brunson Memorial cemetery. Arrangements by Calvary Funeral Home.

He was born in Frost and moved to Eunice, N.M., in 1994 from Odessa. He was Methodist.

Survivors: Wife, Emma Agnes "Dollie" Knott of Eunice, N.M.; daughters, Nelta Whitley and Martha Farris, both of Midland; son, LaRoy Knott of Albuquerque, N.M.; sister, Cleo Jarratt of Dallas; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Jane O'Neal

SEMINOLE -- Jane O'Neal, 70, of Seminole, a homemaker, died Monday, June 8, 1998, at Memorial Hospital.

Services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Community Chapel with the Rev. Derrell Evins officiating. Burial will be at Gaines County cemetery. Arrangements by Boyer Funeral Home.

She was born in Buffalo, N.Y., and moved to Seminole in 1988 from Dallas.

Survivors: Husband, J.E. O'Neal of Seminole; daughter, Kathy Allen of Sache; brother, Arthur Schwan Jr. of Mesa, Ariz.; and six grandchildren.

Gene Owens

PECOS -- Gene Owens, 69, of Pecos died Sunday, June 7, 1998, at his residence.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Greer Willis officiating. Burial will be at Fairview cemetery. Arrangements by Pecos Funeral Home.

He was born in Durant, Okla., and was a lifelong resident of Pecos.

He was Baptist.

Survivors: Wife, Beatrice Owens of Pecos; sons, Darren Owens of College Station and Tim Owens of Midland; daughters, Holly Barrett of Austin, Linda Meadows of Grapevine; brothers, Bruce Owens of Nedville, Marcos Owens and Charles Owens, both of Silver City, N.M.; sisters, Susie Wicker of Oklahoma City, Jessie Moore of Durango, Colo., Mary Jo Hooker of Albuquerque, N.M.; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Simon Patino

PECOS -- Simon Patino, 58, of Pecos, an employee of the Health and Sanitation Department, died Saturday, June 6, 1998, at Memorial Hospital in Midland.

Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Catherine's Catholic Church. Burial will be at Toyah cemetery. Arrangements by Martinez Funeral Home.

He was born in Pecos and was a lifelong resident.

He was Catholic.

Survivors: Wife, Mary Patino of Pecos; father, Lucio Patino Sr. of Pecos; son, Simon Patino Jr., Ray Patino and Eddie Patino, all of Pecos; sisters, Jesusita Brito of Phoenix, Isabel Patino of Odessa, Elva Saucedo of Phoenix, Vickie Mendoza of Odessa and Modesta Patino of Phoenix; brothers, Manuel Patino of California, Pablo Patino of Odessa, Lucio Patino Jr. of Phoenix, Inez Patino of Odessa; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Jewel Sanders

KERMIT -- Jewel Bertha Sanders, 83, of Wink, a homemaker, died Monday, June 8, 1998, at her residence.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Kermit cemetery with the Rev. Tim Luttral officiating. Arrangements by Cooper Funeral Chapel Inc.

She was born in Colorado City and was a resident of Wink for four years.

Survivors: Sisters, Claytie Tant of Temple, Thelma Roman of New Jersey; two grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren.

Ethel Sego

HASKELL -- Ethel Sego, 92, of Haskell, a homemaker, died Saturday June 6, 1998, at Haskell Memorial Hospital.

Services were held Monday, June 8, 1998, at First Baptist Church with the Revs. Jim Turner and Dusty Garison officiating. Burial was in Willow cemetery. Arrangements by Holden-McCauley Funeral Home.

She was born in Camel and was a longtime Haskell resident.

She was Baptist.

Survivors: Daughters, Joyce Davis of Haskell, Mary Francis Rhoads of Munday, Flora Pace of Haskell, Frankie Alvis of Odessa; brother, Frank Bledsoe of Hobbs, N.M.; seven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Rowena Sparks

ANDREWS -- Rowena Sparks, 82, of Andrews, a homemaker, died Sunday, June 7, 1998, at Permian General Hospital.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at McNett Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Don Laird officiating. Burial will be at Andrews Old cemetery. Arrangements by McNett Funeral Home.

She was born in Parker County and moved to Andrews in 1942 from Seminole.

She was Baptist.

Survivors: Daughters, Mickey Green, Pat Reid and Nancee Hanks, all of Andrews; son, Roy Marvin Sparks of Dallas; sister, Pauline Laird of Odessa; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Goldie Umfress

MIDLAND -- Goldie Mae Umfress, 71, of Midland, a retired employee of Dairy Queen, died Saturday, June 6, 1998, at a local hospital.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Fairview cemetery. Arrangements by Thomas Funeral Home.

She was born in Oklahoma and had lived in Midland for 30 years.

Survivors: Sons, Benjamin C. Umfress of Odessa, George L. Umfress of Morgan City, La., Billy B. Umfress of Midland; daughters, Nellie M. Jackson of Marita, Ga., Opal Elam of Devine, Betty Sue Lovelady of Palestine, Jo Ella Curry of Midland; brothers, Jackie Howell, Bobby Howell, Jimmy Howell and Billy Howell, all of Eufala, Okla.; sisters, Robbie Billingsley of Enis, Okla., Minnie Piercy of Libera, Kan., Linda Briskill of Elkton, Ken., Edith Kidd of Erick, Okla.; 27 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

Lillian Wallace

ODESSA -- Lillian Mae Wallace, 103, of Odessa, a retired seamstress, died Friday, June 5, 1998, at her residence.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. today at St. James Baptist Church with the Rev. R.T. McNeil officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill cemetery.

Arrangements by Martinez Funeral Home.

She was born in Caldwell.

She was Baptist.

Survivors: Daughter, Lee Ester Wallace of Odessa; three grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Edna Digby

ODESSA -- Edna Digby, 80, of Odessa, a homemaker, died Sunday, June 7, 1998, at her residence.

Services will be held at 4 p.m. today at Hubbard-Kelly Chapel with the Rev. Clydell Chapman officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

She was born in Meade, Kan., and moved to Odessa in 1961 from Andrews. She was a Baptist.

Survivors: Son, Larry Digby of Odessa; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
