Aldene Wright Locklar
Odessa - Aldene Wright Locklar, 88, a longtime resident of Odessa passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2005, at Parks Methodist Retirement Village.
She was born April 19, 1916, in Waynesburg, Pa. She was a homemaker.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Otis S. Locklar; and son, Grady W. Locklar.
She is survived by her sons, Otis B. Locklar and wife, Debbie, Curtis G. Locklar and wife, Shirley, both of Odessa, three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, March 4, 2005, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jay Mayo officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Anita (Hensley) Watkins
IRAAN - Mrs. Anita (Hensley) Watkins, 85, widow of Jesse Watkins, passed away on Monday, February 28, 2005, in Medical Center Hospital in Odessa after a sudden illness. She joins her beloved ones with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Anita was born in Wingate, Texas, on May 6, 1919, to Gordon and Virginia Hensley.
Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, March 3, 2005, at Restland cemetery in Iraan. Brother Mike Wright of First Baptist Church in Iraan will officiate.
Anita retired from Iraan General Hospital where she nursed for approximately 20 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, loving husband, her brothers Durward and Elward Hensley and grandson Shawn Waggoner.
Anita is survived by her devoted family, Joyce and Dave Howard of Marfa, Ginger Julian of Kingwood, Texas, sister Frances Bredemeyer of Abilene, grandchildren Lorinda Chriesman of Flower Mound, Lisette Hawkins of San Angelo, Scott Howard of Falls Church, Virginia, and Devin Waggoner of New Caney, Texas.
Great-grandchildren include Brad and Chris Hawkins of San Angelo, Ashley Hawkins of Marfa, Zachary Chriesman of Flower Mound, Kevin Waggoner of Porter, Texas, Audrey Waggoner of Houston and Tyler Waggoner of New Caney, Texas.
Great-great-grandchildren are Bryce Hawkins of Kingsland and Sterling Hawkins of Marfa. She is also survived by nephews Zane, Troy and Harold Hensley and Ronald Bredemeyer and niece Eva Hoffman, numerous other family members and loving friends.
The family of Anita Watkins wishes to extend special heartfelt thanks to Iraan General Hospital staff and Medical Center Hospital in Odessa and for all the special prayers and loving support of all her dear friends of Iraan.

Paul Edward Campbell
Odessa - Paul Edward Campbell, 78, a longtime resident of Odessa, passed away Thursday, February 10, 2005, at Midland Memorial Hospital.
He was born March 11, 1926, to Roy and Bessie Campbell. He was a graduate of Breckenridge High School and excelled in all athletic programs. He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II. He was quarterback for the University of Texas in 1947, 1948 and 1949, at which time he broke two of Bobby Layne’s records and led the all-star team to victory to win the 1949 Orange Bowl Title. He was later drafted to the Philadelphia Eagles.
He was an avid golfer, pilot, Medical Center Hospital volunteer and a member of the University of Texas Football Letterman’s Exes.
Paul learned the qualities for success — leadership, dependability and determination.
He is survived by his sons, Paul Andrew Campbell and wife Karen of Odessa, James Patrick Campbell and wife Sherry of Odessa and Thomas Clay Campbell and wife Nancy of Midland. He had four grandchildren, Bethany Michelle Campbell, Annabelle Lee Campbell, Robert Lance Campbell and Chad Edward Campbell. He had three great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his companion, Phyllis Schaefer of Odessa; and, of course, his weiner dog, Short Stop.
Paul was deeply loved by friends and family and will be greatly missed.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, February 14, 2005, at Asbury United Methodist Church with the Rev. Paul Bauernfeind officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the UTPB Sports Department or St. Judes Children’s Hospital.

‘Butch’ Glass
Odessa - “Butch” Glass went to be home with his Lord on Thursday, February 10, 2005. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.
He served in the U.S. Air Force in the Vietnam era. Beginning in 1964, he worked for El Paso Products, Rexenne and later retired from Huntsman in 1999.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Sue Glass; his son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Leslie Glass; his daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Charles Bagley Jr.; and three granddaughters, Aundrea and Logan Glass and Ashley Bagley, all of Odessa; his brother and sister-in-law, Joe and Rosalie Glass of Comanche, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Esa and Katie Glass of Lovington, N.M.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today in the chapel of Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors with Dr. Jimmy Braswell officiating. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Monday, February 14, 2005, at Rock Church cemetery in Blanket, Texas.

Chester W. Howery
Odessa - Chester W. Howery, 87, a 50-year resident of Odessa passed away Thursday, February 10, 2005, at his residence.
Chet was born January 14, 1918, in Poteau, Oklahoma, to Clay Howery and Lula Irvin, one of 12 children.
Chet married
Vinola M. Welch March 2, 1940, in Chickasha, Oklahoma. They would have been married
65 years on March 2, 2005. They moved to Odessa in 1954 and had two children, Marjorie and Chester Jr.
At age 18, Chester joined the Civilian Conservation Corps in 1932. He worked in northern Arizona and southern Colorado and central New Mexico. After learning to weld in the shipyards during World War II, welding became his lifelong profession. He worked throughout the oilfields of West Texas for more thant 40 years.
Chet enjoyed traveling in his motor home and spending time on his Lake Brownwood property with family and friends. The pride of his life was his two grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Chet was preceded in death by his son, Chester Jr.; and his daughter, Marjorie Thornton; and son-in-law, Travis Thornton; and numerous siblings.
Survivors include his wife, Vinola M. Howery; one brother, Bill Howery of Santa Paula, California; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, John and Sharon Welch of Midland; two grandsons, Greg Thornton and wife Danna of Ozona and Jeff Thornton and wife Rhonda of Odessa; four great-grandchildren, Megan and Mark Thornton of Ozona, and Cassandra and Danielle Thornton of Odessa. He is also survived by numerous nephews and nieces.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday, February 14, 2005, at the First Christian Church with Dr. David Mindel officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Luetta Isabella Slate Hawkins
Odessa - Luetta Isabella Slate Hawkins entered into eternal rest on Friday, Feb. 11, 2005.
She was born June 2, 1927, in Purcell, Okla., and was married
at age 17 to Jacob Hawkins on June 2, 1944. Mother lived in Oklahoma, Texas, Nazareth, Israel and moved back to Odessa in 1975.
Mother’s survivors include sons, Gordon Hawkins and wife Wilma and David Hawkins and wife Erika, both of Odessa, and Otis and Debbie Hawkins Of Oklahoma City; daughter, Margarita Klein and husband Carlos of Odessa; including 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Mother was dearly loved and respected by all of her family and friends and will be greatly missed.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 14, 2005, at Sunset Memorial Gardens with her sons officiating.

Barbara Burton Winemiller
Crane - Barbara Burton Winemiller left this life to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, February 12, 2005.
Barbara accepted Christ as a young woman. She attended the Cross and Crown Church and the New Beginning Bible Study Group in Crane.
Barbara was born on April 21, 1942, in Chicago Heights, Illinois, to Earl and Bernice Schmidt Burton. She worked at C&W convenience stores in San Angelo until 1992 when they moved to Crane. At the time of her death, she was employed by Rural Home Health of West Texas as business manager for 12 years.
She married
Jerry Winemiller on September 18, 1961. To this union was born three children, Mark, Debra and Michael Winemiller.
She was preceded in death by her father, Earl Burton; and mother, Bernice Schmidt Burton; and grandson, Curtis Winemiller.
She leaves to mourn her death her husband, Jerry Winemiller of Crane; three children, Mark Winemiller and his wife Amy and their two sons, Eric and Alex of Carthage, Missouri, Debra Winemiller of Odessa, Texas, and Michael Winemiller and his sons, Justin and Jacob, all of San Angelo; her two sisters, Betty King of Crane and Bonnie Burton of Crane; a brother, Danny Burton and his wife Peggy of Kermit and their children, Nathaniel, Baylee and Barbara Burton; nieces, Kathy Austin and her husband Jimmy and their sons Kane and Ethan all of Crane; Kristene Augusta and husband Robert and sons Eli and Joey, all of Crane; and she also leaves behind a host of cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 15, 2005, at the Cross and Crown Church at 1301 South Gaston Street in Crane. She will be buried at the Shiloh cemetery in Whittington, Illinois.
Services are under the direction of Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home of Crane.
Shirley Louise Peebles McBee
Kermit - Shirley Louise Peebles McBee, of Midland, passed away Thursday, Feb. 10, 2005.
She was born Sept. 6, 1929, in Galveston, Texas, and was adopted by James Shelton Peebles and Huddie Carrie Norton Peebles.
Shirley was raised and educated in Wink, Texas, graduating from high school there. On Jan. 7, 1948, she married
Earl L. “Cotton” McBee in Monahans, Texas.
Prior to her retirement in 1986, Shirley had been a legal secretary for many years for attorneys, James Mashburn and J. K. “Rusty” Wall.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cotton McBee in 2003; her parents; and brother, Shelton Peebles.
Shirley is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Peggy and Ken Bassett of Albuquerque, N.M.; son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Denisa McBee of Seminole; daughter, Carol McBee of Midland; son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Ann McBee of Big Piney, Wyo.; brothers, George L. Peebles of Andrews and Jack Peebles of Lynchburg, Va.; three granddaughters, Brandy Bassett of Austin, Kristan McBee of Norfolk, Va., and Allison McBee of Dallas; three grandsons, Justin McBee of Big Piney, Wyo., Tyler Reynolds of Midland and Austin McBee of Sherman; and four great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Ellis Funeral Home.
Graveside services have been scheduled for 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 14, 2005, at the Winkler County cemetery.

Mary Lillian McFarlin
Odessa - Mary Lillian McFarlin, 75, of Odessa, was born Aug. 9, 1929, in San Miguel County, N.M., to Catalino and Anastacia Trujillo.
She was married
to Bennie Joe McFarlin in 1953 in Las Vegas, N.M.
As a young woman, she worked as a LVN at New Mexico State hospital and later as an operating room nurse in Lovington, N.M., at Lee County Hospital.
Mary and Ben McFarlin moved to Odessa in 1971, where Mary reentered college and became a dietician working in various nursing homes in the Odessa area. She was also a member of the First Church of the Nazarene.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her daughter, Debra Ann McFarlin.
She is survived by her husband of 51 and a half years, Bennie Joe McFarlin of Odessa; her daughters, Edith Jennifer Kinney and husband David of Whitharral and Gloria McFarlin Baumstimler and husband Danny of Odessa; her sisters, Carmen Ortiz of Los Animos, Colo., and Lena Herrera and husband Ben of Las Vegas, N.M.; her brothers, Michael Trujillo and wife Lila of Aspen, Colo., Donnie Trujillo and wife Connie and Benito Trujillo, both of Commerce City, Colo., and Seferino “T.J.” Trujillo and wife Cora of Fountain, Colo.; five grandchildren, Lisa Nuanez, Larry W. Robinett Jr. and wife Vicky, Champion Baumstimler and wife Connie, Madison Baumstimler and Ben Baumstimler; and six great-grandchildren, Claire, Thomas, David, Heather, Mikayla and Champion.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 14, 2005, at Odessa First Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. Terry G. Pierce officiating.
She will be loved forever and missed by all who knew her.
LaNelle Frazier Evans
LAMESA - Graveside services for LaNelle Frazier Evans, 86, of Lamesa, were scheduled for 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 12, 2005, at Lamesa Memorial Park with Roy Bird officiating.
A visitation was held from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.
Burial was at Lamesa Memorial Park.
Mrs. Evans died Thursday, Feb. 10, 2005, at her residence.
She was born Aug. 3, 1918, in Sweetwater, Texas. She married
Dr. Sam Frazier. After he died, she married
Ray Evans.
Mrs. Evans was a homemaker and a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church.
Survivors include daughter, Diane Frazier Robinson of Odessa; two granddaughters, Renne Elfert of Odessa and Rissé B Rogers, also of Odessa; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wade and Mattie Bartlett; and her first husband, Dr. Sam Z. Frazier and second husband, Ray Evans.
