in April, 1940. As members of the Greatest Generation, during World War II, while her husband served in the Navy Seabees, Angie did her part in the war effort by working in the “rivet bin” for Douglass Aircraft in Oklahoma City. Following the war, Anglen and Calvin lived in Texas, Arizona and California; settling in Odessa in December 1955. When their children were in school, Angie became a beautician, work she dearly loved, and made many good and lasting friendships during those years.
Through her life, Angie was always optimistic and had little use for negativity. She was an excellent seamstress, and after her retirement, developed her talent for painting by taking art lessons. She loved a project, and was always busy doing whatever her current interests were. Angie loved being with people and had a very competitive nature, so the weekly Bingo games at the Northside Senior Citizens Center were a highlight of her life for several years. She was Senior Citizen “Bingo Queen” one year at the Permian Basin Fair.
Following a stroke at the age of 80, Angie moved to Lincoln Tower where she lived for three years, and “had a ball, ” in her words, participating in the activities there. She loved Country and Western music and dancing and was happiest when gliding across the dance floor with her son at the monthly dances.
Angie was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, and was able to enjoy her two great-grandchildren for several years, as well.
Angie was preceded in death by her husband in 1994; by her parents; and one brother.

She also leaves a brother, Lawrence Endsley & wife, Barbara, of Mountain Home, Ark.; two sisters, Jackie Ahmadzadeh of San Antonio and Georgia Lee Endsley of Las Vegas, Nev.; three nieces and three nephews; and wonderful friend and caregiver, Barbara Watt of Odessa.
The Roy family wishes to thank all our friends and family who’ve been so caring and supportive. A special thanks also is due Avalon Nursing Center for your kindness to Angie and family. And to Odyssey Health Care, we extend our appreciation for seeing us through this difficult time.
Mama, you are loved so much and will be missed by all of us, but we know that Pops just couldn’t wait to have you with him again.
