MONAHANS - Ruben Franco Jr., 17, a Monahans High School senior, died Saturday, Feb. 15, 1997, as the result of an automobile accident. Rosary will be said at 8 p.m. today at St. John's Catholic Church. Mass will be celebrated at 3 p.m. Wednesday at St. John's Catholic Church with the Rev. John Lucido officiating. Burial will be at Monahans Memorial cemetery. Arrangements by Harkey Funeral Home. He was born in Canoga Park, Calif., and was a lifelong resident of Monahans. He was Catholic.

SURVIVORS: Mother, Rosa Franco of Monahans; sister, Sonya Franco of Monahans; and grandparents, Pedro Franco, and Norberto and Eduwiges Morales, all of Van Nuys, Calif.

Katherin Gitchell

ODESSA - Katherin 'Kathy' Helen Gitchell, 39, a financial analyst for the Forbes Group of Dallas, died Sunday, Feb. 16, 1997, at her residence. Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Unitarian Universalist Church of Midland with the Rev. Clare Petersberger officiating. Arrangements by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors. She was born in El Paso and was a resident of Odessa.

SURVIVORS: Parents, Richard and Irmgard Gitchell of Odessa; sister, Evelyn Anton of Springfield, Mo; and brother, Tommy Gitchell of Willow Park.

Josefa Lopez Gomez

ODESSA - Josefa Lopez Gomez, 60, a homemaker, died Friday, Feb. 14, 1997, at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa. Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. today at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Odessa. Burial will be at Rose Hill cemetery. Funeral arrangements by Martinez Funeral Home. She was born in Candelaria and was a resident of Odessa for 40 years.

SURVIVORS: Husband, Eusebio Luna of Odessa; son, David Gomez of Odessa; daughters, Maria Gomez of Midland, and Helen Gomez, Modesta Gomez and Tina Jaquez, all of Odessa; stepdaughter, Julia Trejo of Odessa; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Hazel Haile

DUMAS - Hazel Haile, 85, a retired Moore County district clerk, died Sunday, Feb. 16, 1997, at Healthsouth Rehab Hospital in Midland. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Morrison Memorial Chapel in Dumas with the Rev. Neil Childs officiating. Burial will be in Dumas cemetery. Funeral arrangements by Moorison Memorial Chapel. She was born in Oklahoma and moved to Odessa in 1992 from Dumas.

SURVIVORS: Daughter, Betty Childs of Odessa; brothers, W.C. Mowery of Chula Vista, Calif., Kenneth Mowery of Arlington and Joe Pat Mowery of Dumas; sisters, Lois Mills of Aurora, Colo., and Ruby Lee Simon of Stephenville; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Nellie Hewett

MONAHANS - Nellie Emily Hewett, 84, a homemaker, died Sunday, Feb. 16, 1997, at Odessa Medical Center Hospital. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Christian Fellowship Church with Sam Jordan and Everett Hewett officiating. Burial will be at Monahans Memorial cemetery. Arrangements by Harkey Funeral Home. She was born in Melrose County, N.M., and had lived in Monahans since 1939. She was a member of Christian Fellowship Church.

SURVIVORS: Sons, Hugh A. Hewett and Joe Dale Hewett, both of Odessa, Thomas Hewett of Kingsbille, Jack Hewett of San Jose Calif., Albert Hewett of Victoria and Everett Hewett of Monahans; daughter, Dorothy Hamilton of Pasadena; brothers, James Edward Van Houten of Clearview, Calif., Ira H. Van Houston of Sacramento, Calif., and W.C. Van Houten of Pampa; 13 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Georgie Ritchie

FOSTER, OKLA. - Georgie Mae Oakes Ritchie, 86, a homemaker, died Thursday, Feb. 13, 1997, in Euless, Texas. Services were held Saturday at Mountain View Church in Foster with the Rev. Gary C. Smith officiating. Burial was at Foster cemetery. Arrangements by Wooster Funeral Home of Elmore City. She was born in Soper and was a resident of Euless. She previously lived in Lubbock, Plains, Midland and Odessa. She was a member of Oakview Baptist Church in Irving, Texas.

SURVIVORS: Daughters, Jean Cole of Lebanon, Ky., and Charlene Pickett of Irving; Sons, P.O. 'Sonny' Ritchie of Lubbock and Gerald Ritchie of Midland; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Willodean Warren

ANDREWS - Willodean Warren, 78, a homemaker, died Sunday, Feb. 16, 1997, at Odessa Medical Center Hospital. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Grace Baptist Church with the Rev. Benson Kennedy officiating. Burial will be at Andrews Old cemetery. Arrangements by McNett Funeral Home. She was born in Marion County, Ala., and was a resident of Andrews. She was a Baptist.

SURVIVORS: Sons, Billy Dean Warren of Breckenridge, Ray Allen Warren, Preston Lee Warren and Ricky Joe Warren, all of Andrews, and Walter H. Warren of Windfield, Ala.; daughters, Melba Stokes of Odessa, Sue Sullens and Marsha Perez, both of Andrews, and Patsy Ann Tadlock of Abilene; sisters, Lois Warren of Seymour, Ind., Anna Faye Aldridge of Birmingham, Ala., Gracie Wood of Vallejo, Calif., and Mildred Hall of Big Stone Gap, Va.; 21 grandchildren; and 37 great-grandchildren.

BIG SPRING - Lee Butler, 70, an ordained minister, died Thursday, Feb. 20, 1997, at his residence. Services will be held at 4 p.m. today at First Baptist Church in Big Spring with the Revs. Kenneth Patrick and Harold Smith officiating. Burial will be at Trinity Memorial Park Mausoleum. Arrangements by Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home. He was born in Houston and was a resident of Big Spring. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a Baptist. SURVIVORS: Wife, Molly Butler of Big Spring; sons, Tommy Butler of Whitehouse and Terry Butler of De Soto; daughter, Janie Strader of Houston; sister, Gloria Restelli of Big Spring; and four grandchildren.

PLAINVIEW - Santana 'Sam' Gloria, 75, a retired employee for East Mound Gin, died Thursday, Feb. 20, 1997, in Plainview. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Sunday at Lemons Memorial Chapel. Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Plainview with the Rev. Elbert Fadallan officiating. Burial will be at Plainview cemetery. Arrangements by Lemons Funeral Home. He was born in Zaragoza, Mexico, and was a resident of Plainview. He was a Catholic. SURVIVORS: Sons, Norman Gloria, Sam Gloria Jr., Arthur Gloria, Richard Gloria and Larry Gloria, all of Plainview, and Robert Gloria of Mendota, Ill.; daughters, Maria Talamantes of Midland, Beatrice Arteaga of Mendota, Ill., Virginia Gloria Landeros and Guadalupe Gloria, both of Plainview, Janie Gloria of San Antonio and Gloria Ramirez of Hart; sisters, Angie Villarreal of Pontiac, Mich., and Salume Melendrez of Corpus Christi; 35 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.

Fred Justice

ODESSA - Fred Burrell Justice, 85, a retired employee of Lee Drilling Co., died Wednesday, Feb. 19, 1997, at New Horizon Nursing Center. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Northside Baptist Church with the Revs. Glen Harlin and Clydell Chapman officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. He was born in Pueblo, Colo., and was a resident of Odessa. He was a Baptist. SURVIVORS: Wife, Maudie Lee Justice of Odessa; son, Gene Justice of Big Spring; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

ALPINE - Joe Lindsey McLean, 74, a salesman, died Friday, Feb. 21, 1997, at Big Bend Regional Medical Center. Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Elms Grove cemetery in Alpine. Questa Robinson

ODESSA - Questa L. Robinson, 89, a homemaker, died Thursday, Feb. 20, 1997, at Medical Center Hospital. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Jess Little officiating. Arrangements by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors. She was born in Red Rock, Okla., and moved to Odessa from Alberta, Canada in 1943. She was a Baptist. MIDLAND - Hilda Clark Terrell, 70, a retired employee of Exxon Company U.S.A, died Friday, Feb. 21, 1997, at her residence. She was born in McAlister, Okla., and was a resident of Midland. SURVIVORS: Daughter, Terri Lynn Terrell of Midland.
