Deborah Kay Rodriguez
Odessa - Deborah Kay Rodriguez (formerly Novak) was born March 6, 1959, and died November 18, 2005.
She was 46 years of age and had been a resident of Odessa for nearly 40 years. She was preceded in death by her father, Johnny Novak and brother, Steve Novak.
She is survived by her husband, Eloy and two sons, Steve Murray and Shane Murray, as well as her mother, Corene Novak, three sisters, Shelly Meyers, Lauren Musquiz, and Mary Novak and a brother, Barry Novak. Debbie was for many years one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She set a wonderful example of enduring in the faith through many years of debilitating illnesses. She tried very hard to apply the words of Proverbs 27:11, which states, “Be wise my son, and make my heart rejoice that I may make a reply to him that is taunting me.”
Debbie loved raising animals, and gardening and loved telling people about the hope that sustained her. That hope is found in the scripture of Isaiah 65:25, “The wolf and the lamb will themselves feed as one. They will do no harm nor cause any ruin in all my holy mountain, Jehovah has said.” All of Debbie’s family and friends in the congregation look forward to the resurrection in a paradise earth where these words will be fulfilled.
Debbie was an extremely caring and loving person who truly found more pleasure in giving than receiving. She was a truly special person who touched everyone’s life she came into contact with and will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her.
A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 22, 2005, at
Kindgom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
