Barbara Jean ‘Sissy’ Glover

Odessa - Barbara Jean “Sissy” Glover, age 56, of Odessa, Texas, went to be with the Lord on November 16, 2005 in Brownwood, Texas. She was born on February 3, 1949 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma to Norma Jean & Pete Glover. She was the second of six children, having five brothers. Shortly after she was born, the family moved to Odessa, Texas where she grew up & lived. She remained true to her southside roots all through her adulthood, where she maintained her grandparents property business until her recent move to Brownwood.
Sissy enjoyed life & everyone she knew. Her free spirit took her on many world travels & adventures. She always enjoyed a good challenge & never turned down any task at hand. She enjoyed many activities, including hosting family gatherings, cooking, nature & the outdoors, home decorating, collecting antiques, & anything related to helping others. Sissy’s strongest & most admirable quality was her unconditional love of her family. She was totally devoted to her daughter Kara & grandson Kalep, & they were absolutely the light of her life.
God gave Sissy the gift of mercy, always evidenced by her servant’s heart, her personal sacrifices & caregiving nature, with plenty of love & affection for everyone. She cared tirelessly for both sets of grandparents before they died, putting their care & comfort before her own. Her personal burden was for orphaned & underprivileged children, as well as the elderly.
Our Sissy was first a daughter, granddaughter, a sister, then a mother, a “Granny, ” an aunt, & best friend to many who loved & adored her. She loved the Lord & always enjoyed a close, spritual relationship with Him.
Indeed many will miss her; although she left all who were blessed to have known her many fond memories. May we all enjoy her legacy left to us of living, laughing and loving life to the fullest.
