Angel G. Alvarado
ODESSA - Angel G. Alvarado, 74, of Odessa, left to join his Savior on Saturday, July 9, 2005.
This man will be remembered for his strength and his hard work ethic. During his last days, Apa made known to his loved ones that he loved them. He will always be remembered for his early morning wake up call. No one was able to sleep after that call! His work ethic was one that was learned in his youth.
He grew up in Mexico, working on ranches and developed a love for horses and goats. His love for these animals was passed down to his three sons. During his later years he was able to enjoy his love for horses as he worked with his brother at the horse tracks.
He was a man always making sure that things got done and got done right. He was a very determined man who’s way was the only way.
In his playful times he would sing a song, stumble away in or out of the house. He would make his fish lips, open his eyes wide and make a sound only known to those around him.
His life changed completely when his beloved wife, Eufemia, became ill. He held on to what he had with her up until the last days she lived. He would prepare a cup of coffee, make it to her liking and bring it to her, just like old times. The day came when he had to say goodbye to his Beloved, and a part of him also went.
Thank you, Angel Jr., for always giving him what he asked for, and we all know what that was. Thank you, Arthur for sharing with him your heart. Thank you, Sally, for listening to his final request for you and all your siblings. Thank you, Annabell, for proving to him that you can make it on your own. Thank you, Alma, for doing all the odd jobs with him that no one else was able to. Thank you, Armando, for keeping your eyes upon his well being. A special thanks to Amber, the things you did and shared with him will forever be with you. The family would like to thank all of his brothers and sisters, in-laws and friends who showed their love and kindness during his last days. A special thanks to Odyssey Health Care for their care and support.
Angel G. Alvarado was born in Fort Stockton on Aug. 2, 1930, to the late Pedro Alvarado and Guadalupe Alvarado Cervantes.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Eufemia M. Alvarado; brother, Chameno Alvarado; and his oldest grandson, Arthur D. Alvarado Jr.

Alvarado and wife Luz of Odessa, Texas; three daughters, Araceli A. Stoglin and husband Jimmy and Alma Sauceda and husband Adon, all of Odessa, Texas, and Annabell A Martinez and husband Jorge of San Antonio, Texas; 18 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Belen Jimenez and Maria Rodriguez, both of Odessa, Texas; six brothers, Jesus Alvarado of Artesia, N.M., and Fred Alvarado, Delores Cervantes, Luz Cervantes, Ernesto Cervantes and Jose Cervantes, all of Odessa, Texas.
