Maria Luisa (Vicho) Galindo
Odessa - Maria Luisa (Vicho) Galindo, 64, died Friday March the 4th at Hospice House.
She was born September 6, 1940, in Terlingua, Texas, to father, Pasqual Munoz Sr. and mother Audelia Esparza, who both precede her in death.
A rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March the 8th, 2005, at 1109 Zacatecas. Mass will be celebrated at 3 p.m. Wednesday, March the 9th, 2005, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Joe Uecker officiating. Burial will follow at RoseHill cemetery.
Survivors include husband, Jesus Paul Galindo; four sons, David Galindo Sr., Daniel Galindo Sr., Martin Galindo Sr. and Jesus Paul Galindo Jr., all of Odessa; three daughters, Audelia Galindo and Esmeralda Galindo, both of Odessa, and Belinda Landaverde of Wills Point, Texas; five brothers, Jose Munoz Sr., Pasqual Munoz, Andres Munoz and Jose Antonio Munoz, all of Odessa, and Ruben Munoz of Denver, Colo.; four sisters, Guadalupe Loya, Dolores (Nana) Hernandez, Asencion Gringa Ramirez, and Mary (Cuca) White, all of Odessa; 27 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Services are under the direction of Martinez Funeral Home.
Jesse ‘Pappy’ Hobbs
Odessa - Jesse “Pappy” Hobbs, age 81, passed away Friday, March 4, 2005, at Parks Methodist Retirement Center.
He was born August 13, 1923, to David A. and JoAnna Hobbs in Bixby, Okla. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a member of Wesley Evangelical Methodist Church. He married
Betty Wiseman on May 2, 1952, in Lovington, N.M., and was employed with Ruthco Inc, and Leamco-Ruthco, Inc., and later retired from Fannie Lee Mitchel.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Sebe Bennefield; and sisters, Mae Thomas, Ella Horton, Sarah Burton, Ina Milligan and Dollie Montgomery.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Hobbs of Odessa; son, David R. Hobbs of Florida; daughter, Christy Bevel of Odessa; brother, Eldon Hobbs of Sapulpa, OK; mother-in-law, Dorothy Wiseman of Bellmont, Ill.; five grandchildren, David O’Neal, Jessica O’Neal, Sarah O’Neal, Jerry Bevel and Ray Bevel; and three great-grandchildren, Christopher O’Neal, Caleb O’Neal and Robert O’Neal.
There will be a family visitation from 6 pm.. to 8 p.m. on Monday, March 7, 2005, at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 8, 2005, at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors Chapel with Pastor Ronnie Newton of Wesley Evangelical Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Doris ‘Little Doris’ Hicks Moore
Pecos - A golden heart, Doris, age 82, passed away Thursday, March 3, 2005.
A resident of Richardson, previously of Pecos, she was born March 25, 1922, in Markham.
She is survived by her devoted husband, John; their three sons and daughter-in-laws, Monty and Tammy Moore of Richardson, Hardin and Teri Moore of Allen and Jerry and Pauline Moore of Friendswood. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and their spouses, Trey and Vicki Moore, and Jade Johnson, both of Richardson, Manda and Quinn Henderson of St. Petersburg, Fla., Shannon Glenn of Waco, Ross Moore of San Angelo, Allison Moore of Bedford and Katelyn Moore of Friendswood. She is also survived by three great-grandchildren, Koen Moore, Haidan Moore and Cali Henderson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Jerry Hicks.
Doris was raised in Brenham by her parents Roy Jerome Eddie Hicks and Mable Hunter Hicks.
She graduated from Sul Ross State University in Alpine. She married
John M. Moore on July 17, 1942.
Little Doris was a gifted artist and China painter with her fine pieces displayed in all of our homes.

A memorial service was held at 10 a.m. Friday at Atria Richardson’s home in Richardson.

Lola Lorene Pope
Wichita, Kan. - Lola Lorene (Schrepel) Pope, 76, of Wichita, died Friday, March 4, 2005, in Garden Plain, Kansas.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 8, at Resthaven Gardens of Memory in Wichita, Kansas, with Chuck Frankenfeld, pastor of Northwest Free Methodist Church, officiating.
Lola was born June 29, 1928, in Great Bend, Kansas, to Fredrick and Julia (Schminke) Schrepel. She attended Great Bend public schools for 12 years and the Salina Beauty School. She worked in cosmetology from 1945 to 1962. She was a laundry clerk from 1977 until Vernon’s illness in 1995. Then she returned after his death until 2003 when she became ill and could no longer continue working.
Lola was a member of the Northwest Free Methodist Church where she enjoyed attending services.
She married
Vernon Pope on July 26, 1953, in Yuma, Arizona. They resided in Wichita prior to spending many years in Odessa, Texas. When Vernon retired, they returned to Wichita to be nearer relatives.
Survivors include: two sisters, Anna Dora Hayes of Great Bend, Kansas, and Ella Mae McCandless and husband Lloyd of St. John, Kansas; nephews, David Gaunt, Vernon Hayes and wife Karen, Jerry Hayes and wife Rita, Terry Gaunt and wife Glenda, Steven Gaunt and wife Glenna, Alvin Schrepel and wife Donna, all of Great Bend; Rod Willson of Wichita; nieces, Penny Spillman of Wichita; Carolyn Anschutz and husband Wayne of Hutchinson; SueEllen Lee and husband Jack of Meeker, Oklahoma; Linda McCandless of Kansas City, Missouri; Debra McCandless of Leawood, Kansas; stepdaughter Lynda Hudson of Georgia; sister-in-law, Velma Willson and husband Don of Wichita; special friends, Richard and Sammy Flaharty of Garden Plain, Kansas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Pope on May 25, 1995; one brother, Alvin Schrepel and wife Delores; parents Fredrick and Julia Schminke Schrepel; one sister, Florence Gaunt and husband Lowell; and nephew Vincent Schrepel, all of Great Bend, Kansas.

Floyd Jack Ball
Odessa - Floyd Jack Ball, 82, of Odessa, went home to his eternal Father on March 29, 2005. He was born on April 2, 1922, to Wiley and Ella Ball in Grayson, Colo. He married
Dorothy Mae Rich on February 19, 1944, in Spur, Texas. The couple had two children Edgar Wiley Ball and Nelda Kay Scott.
Floyd enlisted in the Army Air Force on October 14, 1942, and served his country with great pride until February 4, 1946, when he was discharged as a Sergeant. Upon completion of his military service, Floyd was employed by Phillips Petroleum Company. He worked as a mechanic for 28 years.
Floyd’s retirement years were some of his most enjoyable. He had a great passion for fishing and spent countless hours pursuing this pastime. He also developed a great talent for wood working and filled the homes of those he loved with numerous treasures.
Floyd is rejoicing in Heaven with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and also his wife, Dorothy, and his daughter, Nelda.
Floyd is survived by his son, Edgar Ball of Clarkdale, Ariz.; son in law, Terry Scott of Odessa; granddaughters, Cristy Batte and husband, Blake, of Odessa, and Kelly Weaver and husband, Dan, also of Odessa. He cherished his four great-grandchildren, Alix and Abby Batte and Nikita and Nate Weaver. He is also survived by a host of friends and family too numerous to count.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 31, 2005 at 2 p.m. at Immanuel Baptist Church with Troy Stevenson officiating.

Johnnie Edwards
Andrews - Johnnie Edwards, 89, of Andrews, passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2005 in Permian Residential Care Center.
She was born on July 2, 1915, in Goldthwaite. She married
Joe Edwards Dec. 16, 1960, in Andrews. She served with the Permian Regional Hospital auxiliary (Pink Ladies) from 1979 to 1987. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and a homemaker.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 2 at McNett Funeral Home Chapel with James Beard and Morris Courville officiating. Burial will follow at Andrews Old cemetery. Services are under the direction of McNett Funeral Home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe, June 26, 1988; and her son, David Davis, Sept. 14, 2004.
Survivors include friends, Laverne and Louie Bell of Andrews.
Jimmy Kenneth Ludewell II
ODESSA - Jimmy Kenneth Ludewell II passed from this world on Tuesday, March 29, 2005, at Hospice House in Odessa.
Jim was born to Jimmy and Wanda Ludewell on Feb. 17, 1963, in Hobbs, N.M. He attended Hobbs schools and graduated from Hobbs High School in 1981. He had lived in Odessa for about 10 years.
Jim was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Odessa where he enjoyed listening to the sermons and meeting people.
Jim never met a stranger and a stranger never met Jim.
He made friends with everyone he met and was a jokester who loved his friends and family.
Jim remained close his whole life with his cousins and boyhood friends.
Jim is survived by his parents, both of Odessa; his brother, Scott Ludewell of Odessa; his sister and brother-in-law, Laura and Kit Dennis of Odessa.
Jim was also much beloved and will be greatly missed by his nephew and niece, Zac Dennis and Casey Dennis, both of Odessa.
He is also survived by aunts, uncles and countless cousins and friends.
Jim’s family thanks the caregivers of Hospice House for their loving support and care.
Jim will be forever missed by his family.
A graveside service is scheduled at 2 p.m. today at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Kit Dennis, Jack Dennis, Bobby Crouch, Donnie Crouch, Buddy Webb and Danny Webb.
Arnold Gonzales ‘Big Joe’ Castro Sr.
Odessa - Arnold Gonzales “Big Joe” Castro Sr., 71, of Odessa, passed away Saturday, April 23, 2005, at Avalon Nursing Place.
He was born Sept. 25, 1933, in Camp Wood to Marcelino T. and Santos Gonzales Castro. He was a Christian-Catholic, World War II Army veteran and a retired auto body mechanic. He united in Marriage to Consuelo Casteneda Feb. 22, 1957, in Andrews and four children were born to this unification.
His wife, Consuelo C. Castro; parents; and sister, Ora Evans, preceded him in death.
He is survived by his sons, Arnold C. Castro Jr. of San Saba, and Armando C. Castro of Odessa; daughters, Ora Kay Balerio, and Alma Ann and C. Uribe, both of Odessa; six grandchildren, Benita Muro, Veronica Castro, Justin Castro, B.J. Renteria, Lorenzo Uribe Jr. and Angela Gutierrez; and 15 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and a lot of friends.
A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 26, 2005, at Odessa Funeral Home. Graveside Services will be at 1 p.m. today, April 27, at Rose Hill cemetery with the Rev. Joseph Uecker officiating.
Pallbearers will be Justin Castro, B.J. Renteria, Lorenzo Uribe Jr., Rodrigo Muro, Shawn Gutierrez, Emmanuel Acosta, Armando Acosta and Gene Evans Jr.

Noveleene Bone Fuqua
Odessa - Noveleene Bone Fuqua, 75 years of age, passed away Monday April 25, 2005, at Hospice House in Odessa.
She will always be remembered for her everlasting smile and good nature even through years of pain and suffering. Her nurturing spirit always shone through with her love of children. Her passion for gardening and animals will always be remembered and passed to future generations.
She was born July 21, 1929, in Beebe, Texas, Gonzales County, to Perry and Bertha Bone of Stockdale, Texas. She was a graduate of Southwest Texas State Teachers College in San Marcos, Texas. She taught school at Bandera, Texas, and Austin Elementary in Odessa. Before graduating from college, she met “The Love of Her Life” Raymond Fuqua. They were married
on August 10, 1950, in Seguin, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her two brothers, Freddy Ray and Perry Dean Bone.
She is survived by her husband, Raymond F. Fuqua; two daughters, Suzette and husband Donald Pradon of Odessa, and Michele and husband Brian Harris of Round Rock; grandchildren, Mariah and Barrett Pradon, Ray Tanner and Macy Harris.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 28, at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Kevin Bushart, of St. Luke’s Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Lee Edward Huckaby
Odessa - Lee Edward Huckaby, 72, passed away Sunday, April 24, 2005, at his residence.
The family will receive visitors from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Rose of Sharon Baptist Church with the Rev. Darren Wilson officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be: Thomas Huckaby, James Huckaby, Anthony Huckaby, Gregory Huckaby, Glen Sample and Ricky Sample.
Honorary pallbearers will be Lewis Woods Jr., Tory Woods, Ben Woods and Robert Huckaby III.
Lee was born Aug. 4, 1932, in Coolidge to Robert C. Huckaby and Mattie Turner. He married
Lovie Collins Feb. 7, 1962, in Odessa. Lee was a member of the Mount Olive Baptist Church, treasurer of American Legion, Treasurer City Wide Brotherhood, International Brotherhood of Boilermakers, AFL-CIO, and an associate member of the Sheriff’s Association of Texas.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Lovie in 2003; his parents, Robert C. and Mattie Huckaby; siblings, Freddie Lawrence, Robert Huckaby Jr., Thomas Huckaby and Clara Huckaby Sample.
He is survived by his brother, Benjamin Huckaby of Odessa.
