Uradean Drennan Beshers
STEPHENVILLE - Services for Uradean Drennan Beshers, 84, of Plano are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday, July 21, 2005, at Lacy Funeral Home Chapel with Gary Williams officiating.
Interment will follow at the Gardens of Memory cemetery in Stephenville, under the direction of Lacy Funeral Home.
Family visitations will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 20, 2005, at Lacy Funeral Home.
Mrs. Beshers died Sunday, July 17, 2005, at an assisted living facility in Plano. She was born Oct. 29, 1920, in Bluff Dale to Benjamin and Bonnie (Sellars) Drennan. She married
Floyd Earl Beshers Aug. 23, 1947, in Las Vegas, Nev. He preceded her in death Oct. 17, 2004. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Don Drennan, and a sister, Loraine Rowe.
Mrs. Beshers was a member of the Eastside Church of Christ in Kermit and retired as a teacher from the Kermit Independent School District.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law: Steve and Lisha Beshers of Allen; two sisters: Billie Ponder of Arglye and Marjoe Apple of Irving; a brother: Jeff Drennan of Fort Worth; three grandchildren: J.R. Beshers of Allen, Stephanie Beshers of Austin, and Carly Beshers of Allen; and several nieces and nephews.

Margaret Ruby Cameron
Odessa - Ruby Cameron, 79, of Odessa, passed away Saturday, July 16, 2005, at Avalon Nursing Home.
Ruby was born on August 4, 1925, in Petal, Mississippi, to Claude Joseph and Mary Viola Lee. She married
Otho Calbert Cameron on December 21, 1946, in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. They moved to Odessa in 1951 and together had 5 children.
Ruby worked for Walgreen’s for many years and was a longtime member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Otho Cameron; one sister, Jewel Berry; four brothers, Burlon Lee, Lellon Lee, Joe Lee and Hayes Lee.
She is survived by her son, Dwight Cameron and wife, Peggy, of Odessa; four daughters, Carmen Ward and husband, Johnny, of Graham, Texas, Sharon Watkins and husband, Fred, of Odessa, Crystal Claire of Odessa, and Penny Jordan and husband, Jimmy, of Odessa; nine grandchildren, Deanna Bledsoe, Karen Smith, Buddy Allen Ward, Amy Cameron, Greg Watkins, Jennifer Petterson, Karris, Kaley and Logan Jordan; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Lloyd Richey, Fred Watkins, Johnny Ward, Buddy Allen Ward, Greg Watkins and Stacy Bledsoe. Honorary pallbearers are Tyson Smith and Bruin Petterson.
We would like to say thank you to the nurses and staff at Avalon Nursing Home and Odyssey Health Care and a Special Thank You to Evelyn Bailey for her love and care.
Funeral services have been scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Burial will follow the funeral service at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Daphene ‘Mer’ Dunn
Odessa - Laura Daphene Dunn, 86, passed away Sunday, July 17, 2005, in Odessa.
A longtime resident of Post, Texas, she moved to Odessa in 1966. Born November 11, 1918, she was the youngest daughter of Oscar and Ellen Polk. She married
Ben Howell in 1941. They had three daughters. While living in Post, she worked at the Post Cotton Mill. She later moved to Odessa where she married
J.B. “Shorty” Dunn.
She was a member of Greenfield Acres Baptist Church. She was an active member of the “Spady Ladies, ” who met every Tuesday night for fellowship; they always ate their dessert first.
After high school graduation, she attended Draughns Business College.
Survivors include daughters, Frankie Millican and husband, Rusty, Vonda Hanson and Iris Farley; grandchildren, Dean and Kristi Millican, and their children Dane and Claire, Doug and Tracy Millican, and their children, Mason and Hilary, Kyle Hanson, and his daughter Maegan, Rhonda Hanson, Jeremy Hatfield, and children Tori and Jonah and Dylan Farley, and Kip’s children Kaleb and K. C. She was never happier than when her family was around her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, J.B. Dunn; sisters, Desie and Estelle; and grandson, Kip Stanley.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Greenfield Acres Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Opal ‘Lorene’ Elms
Odessa - Opal “Lorene” Elms, 93, of Odessa, passed away Sunday, July 17, 2005, at the Hospice House.
The family will receive visitors from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
Funeral services for Opal “Lorene” Elms are scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday, July 21, at the Eisenhower Church of Christ. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Burt Groves, minister, in charge of the services and Jeff Sweeten and Denny Wilson assisting.
Mrs. Elms was a charter member of the Eisenhower Congregation.
Mrs. Elms was born Oct. 27, 1911, in Atwood, Okla., to G.W. and Mantie Key. She married
Clarence Elms on Nov. 22, 1927, in Sulphur, Okla. Mr. Elms is now deceased; they were married
49-and-a-half years. Lorene’s great passion was teaching small children. She taught in Oklahoma for nine years (part of that time was also spent as elementary school principal), in Arkansas for two years and in Odessa for 26 years, until her retirement in 1977. Lorene was a very hard-working lady. She got her first college degree from East Central State College in Ada, Okla., in 1940, after her children were born. After moving to Odessa, she received her master’s degree from Sul Ross University in Alpine. Lorene dearly loved her family. Mr. and Mrs. Elms with their two sons moved to Odessa in 1951 to be near their daughters and have the family in one place.
While a teacher in Odessa, Mrs. Elms taught second grade at Alamo Elementary School for the entire 26 years of her career in Texas. During this time, she was also listed in “Who’s Who in American Elementary Schools.” While a teacher, she was a member of the Kappa Kappa Kappa Fraternity. She held each of the offices and was a past president. She was also a member of the service sorority Epsilom Sigma Alpha International. She loved to travel and made many delightful trips with her sorority sisters.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband; grandsons, Jimmy Paul and Matthew Clarence Strickland and Steven Elms; her parents; two brothers, and three sisters.
She is survived by her sons, Bill Elms and wife, Anita, and Norman Elms, both of Odessa; daughters, Doris Roberson and Maxine Newton and husband, Red, of Odessa. Lorene “Mammaw” is also survived by seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren; plus, many former students who still remember with joy their time spent in second grade.

Rev. Hector R. Gonzalez Sr.
MIDLAND - The Rev. Hector R. Gonzalez Sr. went to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 16, 2005, in Midland, Texas.
He was born July 24, 1933, in Puerta de Tierra, Puerto Rico. He married
Benita Orona on Nov. 5, 1954, in Wichita Falls, Texas.
He served in the U.S. Air Force for 11 years and was a Korean War Veteran. The Rev. Hector R. Gonzalez Sr. served in the United Methodist Church for 20 years as pastor, district superintendent and conference evangelist for the Rio Grande Conference.
He graduated from Perkins School of Theology from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. He received his Masters Degree of Divinity from Almeada University.
He moved to Midland in 1982, where he established The Glory of God Church (La Gloria de Dios) in 1983 and where he served as Pastor for 22 years. In 2003, I.C.F. Ministries ordained him into the office of Bishop. He also served as Senior Chaplain of the International Conference of Police Chaplains, representing the Midland Police Department under Chief Richard Czech and Chief John Urby.
His father, Saturino Peña of Puerto Rico, preceded him in death.
The Rev. Gonzalez is survived by his mother, Tomasa Peña of Bayamon, Puerto Rico; Benita O. Gonzalez, his wife of 50 years; his children, Hector Gonzalez Jr. and wife Deborah, Victor R. Gonzalez and wife Becky, Richard H. Gonzalez and wife Elizabeth, Brenda K. Hobson and husband Dale and the Rev. Dan H. Gonzalez and wife Esther. He’s also survived by his 12 loving grandchildren, Cherylle Henkel, Mona Garcia, Jonathan Gonzalez, John Rivera, Timothy Gonzalez, Michael Gonzalez, Talitha Gonzalez, Timothy Rivera, Christopher Henkel, Kristan Gonzalez, Cailen Gonzalez and Kendall Gonzalez, all of Midland, Texas. He is also survived by two sisters, Carmen Gonzalez Peña of Puerto Rico and Clarita Montalban of California, as well as two brothers, Carlos “Charlie” Gonzalez Rivera and Raul Gonzalez Rivera of Puerto Rico.
A Celebration Service will be held at 7 p.m. today, July 19, at the Heart of Worship Christian Center, located at 1500 E. University, Odessa (corner of Maple Avenue and University Boulevard).
The Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 20, at Cornerstone Christian Fellowship, located at 1610 W. Wall St., Midland. Arrangements are under the direction of Ellis Funeral Home.

Florene Lancaster
CRANE - Florene Lancaster, 62, of Crane, passed away on Sunday, July 17, 2005, in a vehicle accident in Crane County.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 20, at the Tabernacle Baptist Church with the Reverend Lyndel Lee officiating. Burial will follow at the Crane County cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home of Crane.
Florene was born on December 9, 1942, in Winters, Texas, to Johnny William and Flora Gertrude Lancaster. Florene was a very dedicated carrier of the Odessa American.
She had previously worked for Tubeco and Executive Lodge in Crane.
She leaves to cherish her memory her twin sister, Lorene Kennedy of Crane; Estelle Horton of El Reno, Oklahoma; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, J.T. Lancaster and Robert Cecil Lancaster.
Charlene Amelia ‘Granny’ Blanks Larremore
Odessa - Charlene Amelia “Granny” Blanks Larremore, 77, of Odessa, passed away Saturday, July 16, 2005, at the Herman Memorial Hospital in Houston.
She was born June 10, 1928, in Abilene to Charlie and Mamie Blanks. She married
LaVerne Larremore (who has preceded her in death) on June 9, 1949. They moved to Odessa in 1959 and raised three children. Charlene worked for Dr. John L. Clark, pediatrician for 15 years, where she became known as “Granny” by many of her young patients. A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, mother-in-law and friend who always loved helping other.
Charlene is survived by her son, Tony Larremore of Hattisburg, Miss.; daughters, Gwen Hodnett of Odessa, and Charla Barnett of Andrews; brother, Charles Hollis Blanks of Abilene; sisters, Geneva Millhollon of Brownwood, and Idoma Allegro of Sylacauga, Ala., stepsister, LaDonna McGee; 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
There will be a family visitation from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. today, July 19, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 20, at Temple Baptist Church with the Rev. Griffin Jones officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Fort Stockton - Larry Joe Lujan, 23, a lifelong resident of Fort Stockton, passed away Friday, July 15, 2005, in Dallas.
There will be a viewing from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today, July 19, at Fort Stockton Funeral Home Chapel
Rosary will be at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home chapel. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will be at East Hill cemetery.
He was born Jan. 17, 1982, in Kermit. He was Catholic and a college student.
He was preceded in death by sister: Lisa Marie Lujan, Aunt Sylvia Hernandez of September 2004; maternal grandparents, Francisco Hernandez of September 1993, and Maria Hernandez of June 1996; paternal grandparents, Manuel Lujan of February 1984 and Mary Lujan of March 1977.
His survivors are parents, Larry and Mary Lujan of Fort Stockton; brother, Michael A. Lujan of Fort Stockton; sister, Mallarie M. Lujan of San Angelo; uncles, Pete and Rosie Hernandez and Henry Hernandez, both of Kermit, Manuel Hernandez of Odessa, Joe and Patsy Hernandez of Big Spring, Mingo Hernandez of Las Vegas, Chris and Julie Hernandez of Fort Worth, Ruben and Leticia Lujan of Jal, N.M., and Raul Lujan of Abilene; aunts, Florence and Willie Garcia of El Paso, Eraldo and Margie Dominguez and Irene Lujan, both of Kermit, Octavio and Toni Valenzuela of Burleson, Ed and Birgina Reballo of San Antonio, and Lorraine King of Abilene.
Pastor Allison L. Patrick
Grand Prairie - Pastor Allison L. Patrick, 88, passed away Friday, July 15, 2005, at his residence in Grand Prairie.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. today at Sunset Baptist Church, 721 Manning St., Grand Prairie. Burial will be at Moore Memorial Gardens in Arlington.

Jewel Ragan
Priddy - Funeral services for Jewel Ragan, 72, of Early, will be at 2:30 p.m. today, July 19, at the Zion Lutheran Church in Priddy with the Rev. Donald H. Kingman officiating. Burial will follow at St. John’s cemetery.
Jewel died Thursday, July 14, 2005, in Oklahoma City as a result of an auto accident.
She was born to Carl and Hattie Hopper Grelle June 7, 1933, in Priddy. She later married
Don Ragan April 1, 1965, in Muleshoe. They have resided in Early since 1972. Jewel was employed by Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. in Lubbock and Odessa for many years and later worked for the Early Independent School District working in the Cafeteria between 1988 until 1998.
Left behind to cherish her memory is her husband, Don Ragan of Early; three sons, David Lee of Kerrville, Tony Lee of Lubbock, and Jim Ragan of Norman, Okla.; grandchildren, Harry Lee of Lubbock, Josh Lee of Seattle, Kasey Lee of Baton Rouge, La., and Kathren Ragan and Haley Ragan, both of Norman, Okla.; and four brothers; C.W. Grelle, Clarence Grelle and Larry Grelle, all of Priddy, and Glyn Grelle of Early.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Hattie Grelle; and a son, Doyce Randel Lee.

Librado Subia
ODESSA - Librado Subia, 76, of Odessa, passed away shortly after midnight Sunday, July 17, 2005.
He was born Oct. 21, 1928, in Alpine to Juan and Cruz Subia. He was a loving father and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Lorina and Juana Dominguez.
Survivors include his wife: Elpidia Subia; sons: Fred, Oscar, Orlando, Subia, all of Odessa; daughters: Valentina Subia and Belinda Perez, both of Odessa; brothers: Johnny Subia, Joe, Subia, all of Odessa, Alfonso Subia of Midland and Eduardo Bustamante of Semiole; sister: Esperanza Hernandez of Odessa; grandchildren: Freddie Jr., Devon, Erik, Veronica, Oscar Jr., Anthony, Christopher, Jackie, Brian, Fabian, Orlando Jr., Yvonne Subia, Johnny Rodriguez, Mayra Rodriquez, Christina and Richard Ramos, Josie and Chris Lopez; and 32 great-grandchildren.
Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today at Odessa Funeral Home.
Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Joseph Uecker officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
