Crane - Frankie, age 60, passed away Wednesday, May 25, 2005, at Medical Center Hospital.
She was born Dec. 11, 1944, in Coleman. She was a Christian.
A graveside memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 4, at Crane cemetery.
Her Survivors include husband, Derell Harvey; Mother, Frieda Young; ssiter, Bobbie Ivy; brother, Wayne Young. Aunts, uncles, a brother-in-law, a sister-in-law, cousins, nieces, nephews and many good friends also survive her.
Judy K. Sorensen
Odessa - Judy K. Sorensen, 51, passed away Friday, May 25, 2005, at Medical Center Hospital.
She was born July 1, 1953, to Lenora Elizabeth Reid and Floyd McKenzie. She married
Roger Moreland Nov. 17, 1969, and had four children with him. Roger passed away in 1986 and she then married
Mark Sorensen June 1, 1987.
Judy had 13 grandchildren, who loved her very much. She would let them stay the night with her and she would stay up for hours talking and creating things with them. She was always there when people needed a listening ear and she was always ready to give her opinions. Many people knew and called her Mom. In some way, she touched the lives of everyone she met. She was known by many and loved by all. We will greatly miss her.
She was preceded in death by her father, Floyd McKenzie; brother, William Robert McKenzie; and sister, Betty Jean McKenzie.
Survivors include her mother, Lenora Elizabeth Reid; sisters, Cherry Bolkenstyn, Elizabeth Castillo, Edie Bryant, Evelyn Elaine Clark and Lora Ethel Spivey; brothers, Floyd Byron McKenzie, Benjamin Harrison McKenzie and James Elias McKenzie; husband, Mark Sorensen; son, Shannon Moreland and William Moreland and Debra Durbin; daughter, Ronda Moreland and Calvin Green and Brandy Gentry and Terry Gentry; 13 grandkids; and numerous nieces, nephews and many more, who in her heart were her kids.
Judy will be cremated and memorial services will be at 7 p.m. Friday, June 3, at Bethel Assembly of God Church. Family and friends can gather through the day at 1544 N. Avery St.
Dr. Prentis Byon Vaughn
Boerne - Dr. Prentis Byon Vaughn, age 54, passed away in Midland, Texas, on Wednesday, May 25, 2005.
Dr. Vaughn was born in Kingsville, Texas, on September 6, 1950, he was the son of Tip Herndon and Lorena Stahl Vaughn. A former resident of Boerne, Byon and his family had lived in Midland for two years where they were members of Christ Church Midland (Anglican Communion). Dr. Vaughn was an ER physician at Odessa Regional Hospital and a physician at West Loop Family Medicine. He was a member of the American College of Emergency Physicians (fellow), the Texas Medical Assoc., the American Medical Association and the Ector County Medical Society.
Dr. Vaughn received his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston in 1975. Commissioned as a captain in the U.S. Army in 1973, he was the first graduate of an Emergency Medicine Residency program in the state of Texas. Promoted to the rank of major in 1978, he was honorably discharged in 1983. During his military service, he received the Expert Field Medicine Badge and the Flight Surgeon’s Badge, and was the founder and Program Director of the Emergency Medicine Residency at Darnell Army Hospital, Fort Hood. He was also the Medical Director for numerous other EMS organizations around the state. Among his many honors, he received the Surgeon General’s Physician Recognition Award as Outstanding Physician of the Year in 1980; the Army Soldier’s Medal in 1981; the Louis Livingston Seaman Award from the Association of Military Surgeons of the United States in 1981; the Army Achievement Medal-1982; and the Army Meritorious Service Medal in 1982.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Charles and Tip Vaughn.
Byon is survived by his wife, Laura Armstrong Vaughn; children, Kelly Vaughn Tomasini and her husband, Justin, Brett Vaughn and his wife, Niki, Chelsea Vaughn Hines and her husband, James, and Zachary Vaughn; grandchildren, Justin Tomasini Jr., Austin Tomasini and Loring Tomasini; mother-in-law, Eloise Armstrong; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Kelye and Mark Odell; and sister-in law-, Nancy Trant Vaughn; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation was held from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday, May 30 at Vaughan’s Funeral Home in Boerne. Funeral Services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 31, in the chapel of the funeral home with Pastors Bubba Stahl and Tom Lanier officiating. Burial with full military honors followed at Mission Park North in San Antonio.
Pallbearers were: Dr. Joe Wallace, Russell Jones, Matthew Beasley, Dr. Shaun Taylor, John Stone and Hank Sabastian. Honorary Pallbearer, Joe Duncum.

Raul Armendariz
Odessa - Raul Armendariz, 79, passed away May 31, 2005, at Sienna Nursing Home.
He was born Sept. 2, 1925, in Loving, N.M. to parents, Paz and Fermina Armendariz.
Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Mark Miller officiating.
Survivors include his son, Jesus Armendariz and wife, Alma, of Fort Stockton; daughters, Lorena Campbell and husband, Lawrence, Socorro Armendariz and Gracela Armendariz and husband, Javier, all of Odessa; brother, Robert Armendariz Carlsbad, N.M.; sisters, Elvira Dominguez of Pecos, Esperanza Alvarez of El Paso, and Emma Urquidiz of Littlerock, Ark.; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.

Delma ‘Del’ Baucum
ODESSA - Delma “Del” Baucum passed away May 31, 2005 in Odessa, Texas.
The beloved family patriarch was born May 18, 1910 in Springhill, Louisiana to Oscar Fulton and Odelia Slack Baucum. He was married
to Lula Mae Barr in 1928 until her death December 7, 1964. From this union was a son, James Delma. Del later married
Edena Marie Davidson August 17, 1965.
Employed by Humble Oil and Refining Company for 37 years, he obtained the position of drilling and production Superintendent, working Alabama, Arkansas, Mississippi, New Mexico and Texas. Delma was the acting “driller” of the R.M. Means No. 1, Andrews County, Texas, the initial discovery well on the lease in 1934. After his tenure with Humble, he was a partner in the forming of Santiago Oil, later to become Texam Oil Company. Thereafter he co-owned Meter Service, Gasket Service and Master Manufacturers. In 1993, he became associated with Lone Star Packing & Gasket of Odessa and Lubbock.
Del was a lifetime member of the Rocky Mountain Lodge 63, Overton, Texas, Fellowship Lodge 1385 in Odessa, a 32ND degree Shriner, El Maida Temple Lodge and Scottish Rites Bodies, El Paso and Odessa Shrine Club. He was member of Petroleum Pioneers of Texas and Westminster Presbyterian Church of Odessa.
He is survived by his son James and daughter-in–law Patricia of Salt Lake City, his adopted daughter Barbara Lively of Dallas; grandchildren Stephen, Michael and Lori; great-grandchildren Adam and Austin and great-great-grandson, Maddix Baucum, all of Salt Lake City; Suzanne Richards, stepdaughter from his marriage to Edena; niece and nephew Polly and Joe Hunter of Minden, Louisiana and adopted grandson, Brian Hensley of Dallas.
Graveside services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday in the Sunset Memorial Gardens Mausoleum with Rev. Robert Sams officiating.

William Terrell Watson
Graham - William Terrell Watson, 90, passed from this life Wednesday, June 1, 2005, at Graham Regional Medical Center in Graham, just a short distance from where he was born.
Terrell was born Nov. 8, 1914, in Young County, Texas. He was the fourth youngest child of Robert Butler and Eda Patterson Watson. He graduated twice from high school, first at Bunger then the following year, 1932, at Graham High School.
Terrell became a Christian and church member while attending Bunger Baptist church. As a teenager, he served as a substitute song leader and Sunday school teacher for the fourth-grade boys. His favorite Bible passage was Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount.
Terrell came to Ector County July 4, 1937, and began a 41 year career with Stanolind Oil & Gas, which later became BP Amoco. Terrell married
Addie Florine Ardis Feb. 19, 1938, in Abilene. The couple celebrated over 67 years of marriage. Their four children were born and raised in Odessa.
Terrell loved to meet and get to know people he encountered. He really never met a stranger. Terrell was an accomplished gardener, who loved to share his produce and gardening skills with others. He also enjoyed collecting relics and found it challenging to discover a purpose for these treasures. As an adventurer, he boasted of traveling to all but two counties in Texas. He was an avid reader with a wide range of interests, especially Texas and Young County history.
Terrell and Florine moved back to Young County in April of 1980. They enjoyed many years of activities involving family and old friends, as well as traveling with church friends from the First Baptist Church of Graham. Terrell will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Preceding Terrell in death were his parents; three siblings, Wileth Ribble, Bertha Roye Taylor and Jim Bob Watson; and one nephew, Wayne Roye.
His survivors include his wife, Florine of Bryson; his sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Louise Watson of Odessa, Bob and Barbara Watson of Roswell, N.M., and Vic and Jean Ann Watson of Round Rock; daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Carl Ross of Leona; eleven grandchildren, Dal Watson and Travis Watson, both of Midland, Nolan Watson, Zane Watson and Meredith Watson, all of Lubbock, Aaron Watson of South Asia, Rachel Watson and Philip Watson, both of Round Rock, Mike Rose of Austin, Jhana Dudley of Little Elm, and Jeff Ross of Port Arthur; and 12 great-grandchildren. Also surviving him are nieces and nephews, Jimmy Watson and Max Watson, both of Houston; Payne Roye of Waxahachie, Betty June Goff of California, and Peggy Gregory of Fort Worth.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 4, at Morrison Funeral Home in Graham with the Rev. Edgar Jones officiating. Burial will be at Pioneer cemetery.
His grandsons will be Pallbearers.
Memorial may be made to the Library of Graham, 910 Cherry St., Graham, TX 76450.

ODESSA - Delma ‘Del’ Baucum passed away May 31, 2005, in Odessa, Texas.

Leona ‘Joyce’ Taylor
Odessa - Leona ‘Joyce’ Taylor, 77, of Odessa, passed away Wednesday, June 1, 2005, at Augusta Medical Center Hospital in Virginia.
She was born June 17, 1929, in McCamey, to parents, Jack and Leona Taylor. She moved to Odessa in 1934 and graduated from Odessa High School in 1947.
She is survived by her brothers, Aaron Taylor of Waynesboro, Va., and Spencer Taylor of Clyde.
Graveside services will be at 9 a.m. Monday, June 6, at Sunset Memorial Gardens cemetery.

Bobby Lee Guyer
ODESSA - Bobby Lee Guyer, age 55, passed away Saturday, June 11, 2005, at his residence in Odessa.
He was born June 16, 1949, to Troy and Billie Guyer in Seminole, Texas. He moved to Odessa from Phoenix, Ariz., in 1992, and married
Paula Denyce Walker that same year. He was a retired U.S. Army veteran and a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Denyce Guyer of Odessa; sons, Bobby D. Guyer of Mesa, Ariz., and Scott Anderson and Vernon Hodgkins, both of Odessa; daughters, Dusti Guyer of Dallas and Stormy Burleson of Odessa; mother, Billie Glaze of Lubbock, Texas; brother, George Mize of Lamesa, Texas; sister, Juanita Allison of Lubbock, Texas, and Billie Currie of Lamesa, Texas; eight grandchildren; and a host of friends.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 14, 2005, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with Roy Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Edward N. Halsell
ODESSA - Edward N. Halsell, 59, of Fort Davis, passed away Thursday, June 2, 2005, at the Hospice House.
He was born April 29, 1946, in Lubbock to O.E. And Betty Norman Halsell. He was a graduate of Permian High School, where he ran track with lifelong friend, Phil Irwin. He was a Vietnam veteran; held a master’s in political science and a bachelor’s of arts in sociology/management; but most of all he was an adventurer extraordinaire.
In addition to his 20 years of oilfield experience, he had gold mines in Mexico; spent four years as owner and operator of his own mud company; was an avid artist and philosopher; and traveled the world. He was fluent in German and Spanish. He loved geology and had a great collection of fossils, meteorites and artifacts.
He was known as Edwardo Magnifico by his close friend Andrew Jackson. Andrew says Eddie was “intelligent, resourceful, experiential, romanceful and spirited — a necessary combination for living life to its fullest; and Eddie’s loving hands are set in stone at Glen’s place in Fort Davis, where he had spent the last 15-plus years. From a spiritual standpoint, Eddie had been to the mountaintop. He had an uncanny, wonderful spirit-minded perspective.”
He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Norman Halsell; nephew, Paul Wade Drake; and grandparents, Jesse and Mamie Norman and Harry and Ruth Halsell.
He is survived by his father, Dr. O.E. Halsell; brother, Glen G. Halsell; sister, Missy Renner and husband Ted; niece, Elizabeth Drake; aunt, Margaret Parker; and several cousins.
