Epimenia Herrera
Odessa - Mass for Epimenia Herrera, 79, of Odessa will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2005, at St. Joeseph’s Catholic Church with Father Joseph Uecker officiating.
Internment followed at Rose Hill cemetery. Arrangements were by Odessa Funeral Home.
Mrs. Herrera died Saturday, Feb. 12, 2005, at The Hospice House.
She was born in Colorado. She was a homemaker and a Christian Catholic.
Survivors include her sons, Rodolfo “Rudy” Herrera and Carlos Herrera, both of Odessa; daughter, Sophia Rodriguez of Odessa; brothers, Bernardo Herrera of Muleshoe, Ramon Herrera of Presidio and Benito Herrera of Acuna, Mexico; sister, Bernarda Herrera of Redford; 10 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were: Piedad Rodriguez, Ramon Herrera, Carlos Herrera, Urbano Herrera, Francisco Chavez, Adrian Herrera, Ramon Herrera Jr., Emilio Herrera and Eric Lujan.
Carroll E. Squiers
ODESSA - Carroll E. Squiers 62, of Odessa, passed away Monday, Feb. 14, 2005, at his residence after a lengthy illness.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Immanuel Baptist Church with Dr. Jimmy Braswell officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Cory Bynum, Don Magee, Greg Martin, Anselemo Sanchez, David Snapp and Chris Ward.
Carroll was born Aug. 24, 1942, in Brady, Texas, to John Squiers and Una Turnell. He married
June Gardner on Oct. 1, 1960, in Sweetwater, Texas. He was a retired employee of Chevron.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, three brothers and five sisters.
He is survived by his wife, June Squiers of Odessa; two sons, Wayne and Karen Squiers of Odessa and James and Emma Squiers of Zachary, La.; four grandkids Morgan, Corry, Meagan and Brooklyn; three sisters, Ruth Massey, Brenda Wilkinson and Nancy Wright; two brothers, Winfred Squiers and Neal Squiers.

Joyce E. Wood
Odessa - Joyce E. Wood, 72, of Arlington died Monday, Feb. 14, in Arlington.
She was a former resident of Odessa and had owned Joy’s Mobile Villa. She also was retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. and was a member of Temple Baptist Church.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 17, 2005, at the chapel of Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald D. Wood; her mother; and two sisters.
Survivors include daughter, Donna Ferry and her husband, Raymond, of Arlington; son, Gary Wood and wife, Emily, of Plano; sister, Sue Hunt of Fort Worth; brother, Wade Wilson of Odessa; and loyal friend, Koko Wood of Arlington.
Rev. Thomas ‘Tom’ Kelley
Midland - The Roman Catholic Diocese of San Angelo, and specifically the Roman Catholic Church of Our Lady of San Juan in Midland, lost a most beloved priest after a valiant battle with cancer. Rev. Thomas “Tom” Kelley went to be in the bosom of the Lord from the Midland Memorial Hospital in Midland Feb. 21, 2005.
Rev. Tom was born in Titusville, Pa., Jan. 8, 1943, as the only son of DeAnna Heher Kelley and Spicer C. Kelley, who had two daughters. He attended the Cathedral Preparatory H.S., St. Mark Seminary H.S, and Gannon University, all in Erie; the St. Bonaventure University and Christ the King Seminary in Olean, N.Y., and the North American College in Rome. He was ordained on Dec. 21, 1967, at St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome. He received a degree in Theology from the Gregorian University in Rome and a master degree in education from Edinboro University in Edinboro, Pa.
The following are Rev. Tom’s assignments prior to the Bishop of Erie agreeing to send Rev. Tom to the Diocese of San Angelo: from 1968 to 1972, he was a parochial vicar at St. Peter Cathedral in Erie; from 1972 to 1985, he served as faculty member, principal, vice-rector and finally rector of St. Mark Seminary in Erie; from 1985 to 1989, he returned to the North American College in Rome and served as the Academic Dean; from 1989 to 1990, he was the administrator of St. Michael parish in Greenville, Pa., and then served as pastor from 1990 to 1994. The Bishop of Erie then sent Rev. Tom to the San Angelo Diocese for a six-month period on July 5, 1994. He was officially attached, incardinated, to the Diocese of San Angelo Feb. 1, 2001.
His many assignments within the Diocese of San Angelo follow: his first assignment was as Parochial Vicar at St. Agnes and St. Joseph Churches in Fort Stockton; St. James Church in Sanderson; St. Isidore Mission in Coyanosa; and Our Lady of Lourdes Mission in Imperial. On Sept. 6, 1994, he became the Pastor of St. Agnes in Fort Stockton; the St. Isidore Mission in Coyanosa; and Our Lady of Lourdes Mission in Imperial. On Feb. 11, 1995, Rev. Tom received permission from the Bishop in Erie to remain in the San Angelo Diocese for another year beginning Jan. 5, 1995; on Oct. 10, 1995, the Bishop of Erie told Rev. Tom to return to Erie after Dec. 5, 1995; on Nov. 11, 1996, he received permission from the Erie Diocese to return to the San Angelo Diocese for three years effective Jan. 2, 1997; and on that date, he was assigned as Parochial Administrator of Our Lady of San Juan Church in Midland; on Feb. 1, 2001, Rev. Tom was incardinated into the San Angelo Diocese; on Aug. 8, 2003, he was assigned as Pastor of Our Lady of San Juan, where he served until his death, became the Director of Deaconate and guided thirty men of the Diocese, until they were ordained as Deacons of the Church. On Aug. 28, 2003, Bishop Pfeifer assigned Rev. Tom as Dean of the Midland/Odessa Deanery.
Throughout his priestly vocation Rev. Tom was a member of the following Boards and Committees: Continuing Education of Diocesan Priests, Ethics Committee of Greenville Regional Hospital, President of the Association of Eastern Region of College Seminaries, Papal Evaluation Team of American Seminaries, Priestly Formation Committee of the National Bishop’s Conference, the Seminary Board of the National Catholic Education Association, the Diocesan Priests’ Senate and Personnel Board.
Visitation of the body will be from 1 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the church prior to the Wake Service and at 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., prior to the Mass. The Wake Service and Rosary will be at 7 p.m. today at Our Lady of San Juan Church in Midland, 1008 W. New Jersey St. The Rev. Bernard Gully will preside, and a bilingual homily, in English and Spanish, will be given by Deacons Sador Sotelo and Ignacio Villa. Bishop Michael D. Pfeifer, OMI, will be the main celebrant of the Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 25, 2005, at Our Lady of San Juan Church. The Rev. Joseph D. Wolf will deliver the homily. Burial will immediately follow the funeral Mass in Resthaven cemetery.
Rev. Tom’s Mother, DeAnna Heher Kelley, died Jan. 11, 2003; and his father, Spicer C. Kelley died March 27, 2003.
He is survived by his two sisters, Susan Dixon and husband, Kenneth, of Dyer, Ind., and Mary Margaret Gupta and her husband, B.D., of Swampscott, Maine. Rev. Tom is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

H.A. Lee
Monahans - H.A. Lee went to his heavenly home Feb. 23, 2005.
He was born to Hubert and Eudora Lee in Paducah Dec. 13, 1933. H.A. married
Sherrie Smith June 19, 1954. The couple had two children. They moved their family to Monahans in 1963, where H.A. has been a practicing Certified Public Accountant. H.A. was active in various civic organizations over the years. He served as president of the Lions and Rotary Clubs, and was an Ambassador of the Monahans Chamber of Commerce. He was a member of the Third and Dwight Street Church of Christ. “Pops” also served as President of the Lobo Booster Club. He was his children’s biggest fan, and continued to be his grandchildren’s as well.
H.A. is survived by his wife, Sherrie of Monahans; his son, Mike and wife, Conda, of Monahans; and their children, Danielle, Tyier and Brandon; a daughter, Jennifer Swarb and husband, Steve, of Monahans; and their children, Joshua and Candace. He is also survived by two great-grandchildren, Jaycie and Caleb, both of Monahans. Also by a sister, Margaret Gilbert, of Paducah.
H.A. was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Dorothy Butler; and his beloved grandson, Nathan Swarb.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 25, 2005, at the Third and Dwight Street Church of Christ of Monahans. Burial will follow at Monahans Memorial cemetery.
Services are under the direction of Family Funeral Services/Jackie Harkey.
Lois Reinhardt
Stanton - Lois Reinhardt, of Midland, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2005.
She was born Sept. 25, 1957, to Donald K. Dill and Nadeen F. Winters Dill in Woodward, Okla., and was raised and educated in Wichita Falls. She was a graduate of Rider High School and Midwestern University. On July 1, 1995, Lois married
Monte G. Reinhardt in Odessa. Her career included working for 15 years for Central Oklahoma Freight, seven years at FA International in Odessa and one-and-a-half years for the Midland Reporter Telegram.
She was preceded in death by her mother.
Lois is survived by her husband, Monte Reinhardt of Midland; and their daughter, Sarah Reinhardt of Midland; stepdaughters, Jennifer Reinhardt; and family, Jackie Lathram and husband, Kyle, and Jessica Hammond and husband, Lewis, all of Midland; father, Don Dill and his wife, Molly, of Wichita Falls; brother, Don Dill Jr., and wife, Merrolee, of Allen; sister, Samie Peterson and husband, Brad, of Rowlett; stepsisters, Debbie Strobel and husband, Tim, of Forney; LaDonna Watkins and husband, Dan, of Dallas; three grandchildren; seven nieces; seven nephews; two great-nephews; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Louis Dwight Whisenhunt
Odessa - Louis Dwight Whisenhunt, 61, of Wallace, S.C., passed away Feb. 20, 2005, at his residence.
He was born Nov. 18, 1943, in Galveston to his parents, Louis and Opal Whisenhunt. Louis graduated from Ector High School in 1962. He married
Jan Adcox in Odessa. He served in his country’s Army with the 101st Airborne. For the past several years, Louis worked as a Quality Control Inspector.
Louis was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Laquita Dunlap.
Louis is survived by his wife, Jan Whisenhunt of Wallace, S.C.; his sisters, Yvonne Dunlap and husband, Jerry, and Paula Norman and husband, Larry, both of Odessa; brother, Gary Whisenhunt and wife, Sandie, of Odessa; daughters, Becky, Brandi, Shannon and Staci, and son, Steve. Louis also had many nieces; nephews; and grandchildren. He was also survived by his constant companion, Shadow.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 26, 2005, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Jim Braswell officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Maria Dolores Q. Wright
Pecos - Maria Dolores Q. Wright, 75, went home to be with the Lord Monday, Feb. 21, 2005, at S.W. Texas Methodist Hospital in San Antonio.
Mrs. Wright was born Dec. 25, 1929, in Chihuahua, Mexico, to father, Augustin Quesada Jr. and mother, Luz Blanca Davila. She married
Willie C. Wright Oct. 10, 1960, in Pecos. She was employed as a supervisor by the Pecos, Barstow, Toyah Independent School District for 20 years. She was a member of the Association of Guadalupana of Pecos at Santa Rosa Catholic Church. She was very active in the Pecos community, she dedicated her time and energy to helping Junior and Senior Prom, P.T.A, Booster Club, and she taught Folkloric Dancing in Pecos. She was very proud to have contributed. After moving to Odessa in 1994, Mrs. Wright joined the Association of Guadalupana with St. Josephs Catholic Church and was a member of the Lejion de Maria.
Visitation for Mrs. Wright will be at 4 p.m. today at Peaceful Gardens Funeral Home in Pecos. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Thursday at Peaceful Gardens Funeral Home. Funeral services for Mrs. Wright will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 25, 2005, at Santa Rosa Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the Greenwood cemetery.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie C. Wright; and her brother, Augustin Quesada.
She is survived by her sons, Arturo Mendoza and wife, Irma, of Sanderson, and Manuel “Monnie” Mendoza and Emma, and William C. Wright, both of Odessa; daughters, Blanca and husband, Issac, of San Antonio, Elizabeth Jones and husband, Gary, and Norma Wright, all of Odessa; brother, Zijfrido Quesada and wife, Sandra, of Auga Prieta Sonora, Mexico; sisters, Blanca Avila and husband, Pablo, of Pecos, and Krimilda Carranza and husband, Ruben, of Caborca Sonora, Mexico; grandchildren, Christopher Lozano and wife, Alegra, Sonia Lozano, Sarah Lozano, Roxanne Espino and husband, Gabe, Karina Mendoza, Daniel Mendoza, Mason Mendoza, Jennifer Mendoza, Pamela Mendoza, Mandy Mata, Zachary Bitolas, and Joe Isaac Delgado; nephews, Henry Avila and wife, Gina, and Isreal Avila and wife, Linda; niece, Sandra Avila; and five great-grandchildren.

Thomas E. Northcutt
Luling - Graveside services for Thomas E. Northcutt, 96, of Lubbock, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 5, 2005, at Luling City cemetery under the direction of RIX Funeral Directors of Lubbock.
Mr. Northcutt died Thursday, March 3, 2004, at Garrison Care Center in Lubbock.
He was born Feb. 16, 1909, in Clearfork to the late Jesse Lee and Lula Bell Hansen Northcutt. He married
Florence Celesta Allen in Dec. of 1930. She died March 7, 2000. Thomas started working in Luling as a roughneck. Working in the oilfield, he and his family moved around until settling in Odessa where he was a drilling consultant in Midland, working for Dave Metts. He retired at age 75. He became a Christian in 1944 and was a Baptist all his life. He moved to Lubbock three years ago and has been a resident of Garrison Care Center. He was a member of Bacon Heights Baptist Church. He was also a Mason.
Survivors include two daughters, Jenna Guest and husband, Calvin, of Bryan, and Blanche Lang and husband, William, of Lubbock; six grandchildren, Gwen Bruchez and husband, Ernie, and Gary Guest and wife, Susan, all of Bryan, Tomi Calmes and husband, Michael, of Lubbock, and Bill Lang Jr. and wife, Michelle, Steven Lang and wife, Jill, and Kimberly Layne and husband, Robert, all of Houston; 18 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Edna Patterson Davis of George West.

Mabel Brunette Anderson
Odessa - Mabel Brunette Anderson, of Odessa, passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2005, at Parks Methodist Retirement Village.
She was born in Odessa and graduated from Odessa High School. She worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. She was a Methodist and a member of the Southwestern Bell Pioneers.
She was preceded in death by parents, Ona and Aline Anderson; brother, Dewey I. Anderson; and nephew, J. Tom Anderson.
She is survived by her brother, Zada Anderson and wife, Pauline, of Sugar Land; sister, Ruby Anderson and friend, Della Winchester, of Odessa; nephew, Jerry Anderson and wife, Lani, of Missouri City; nieces, Joyce Fambro and husband, James, Donna Parker and husband, Larry, of Lubbock; one great-nephew; five great-nieces; five great-great-nephews; and four great-great-nieces.
Visitation is scheduled from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Friday at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

Odessa - Brenda Brymer, 47, of Odessa, passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2005, at her residence.
She was born March 30, 1957, in Big Spring. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by her three sons, Jon Brymer and wife, Aubrey, of Pleasanton, Brent Brymer of New Braunfels, and Michael Brymer of Corpus Christi; brothers, Edward Ray Kennedy of Zapata, and James Kennedy of Hobbs, N.M.; sister: Deborah Jansen of Crockett, Mo.; and two grandchildren, Avery and Adyson Brymer.

Vannevar Clarence ‘Van’ Dancer
Odessa - Vannevar Clarence Dancer was born Jan. 16, 1949, to Renetta Pierce and Louis A. Dancer in Odessa. He departed this life Monday, Feb. 28, 2005, at Medical Center Hospital.
Van graduated from Odessa’s Ector High School and continued to Sul Ross University, where he received a bachelors of science degree in education, psychology and art. Van retired from The Odessa American newspaper where he worked as a pressman for over thirty years.
Van faithfully served as an usher at St. Matthew Baptist Church, where he remained a lifelong member, until he departed from this life. Van was a dedicated father, grandfather, companion and friend.
He leaves to cherish his memory, Patricia Ann McGee of Odessa, mother of their five children, Michelle Burditt of Dallas, and Jerome Dewberry, Gerald Dewberry, Vannevar Dancer Jr. and Aundra McGee, all of Odessa; his loving companion, Alma Batie and her children; five sisters, Rhonda Monroe of Dallas, Renee Baker of Houston, Rita Tribble of Cincinnati, Ohio, Mary Butler of Ferris, and Naomi Dancer of Lewisville; three brothers, Louis D. Dancer and Lawrence Dancer, both of Dallas, and Lester Rheams of Thailand; 11 grandchildren; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Van was preceded in death by his mother, Renetta Pierce, and father, Louis A. Dancer.
Funeral services are scheduled at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 5, 2005, at St. Matthew Baptist Church, 809 W. Barrett Ave, with the Rev. H. R. Lovelady officiating.
