Kendell Lyle Green
Pampa - Kendell Lyle Green, 84, passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2005, at Parks Methodist Nursing Center.
He was born on June 6, 1920, in Curtis, Okla., to Nathaniel and Ora Green. Kendell and Eva married
Nov. 3, 1940, in Sayre, Okla. He served as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army from 1944 to 1946 and was a production manager for the Freedom Newspaper for 40 years.
He was preceded in death by wife, Eva Jane Green Feb. 15, 2005; his parents; a son, Harold Ray Green; and brothers, Carol, Bill, Frank and Lawerence.
Kendell is survived by his son, Gary L Green and wife, Doris, of Odessa; brother, James K. Green of Artesia, N.M.; two grandchildren, Patricia Ryburn of Hobbs, N.M., and Jason Green of Odessa; three great-grandchildren; nephews, Walt Green of Artesia, N.M., Corky Green of Victoria, and Billy Joe Green of Pampa.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 5, 2005, at Fairview cemetery with the Reverend Barry Owens officiating.
Services are by Odessa Funeral Home.
Ricky Lynn Martin
Midland - Ricky Lynn Martin, 50, of Midland, went to be with his Lord Wednesday, March 2, 2005.
He was born May 8, 1954, to Luther D. Martin and Methel Faye Norton Martin in Midland. He was a loving father and brother, and best friend to the Martin family. Ricky was sold short many times in life, but not this time. Ricky had many talents. He worked as a cement operator and driver, a welder, boat mechanic, assembled airplanes in Dallas and drove trucks for the last few years. His great gift for conversations, advice and outlook on life will be truly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, James Martin and Alvis Martin.
Ricky has left behind one son, David Lynn Martin of Del Rio; one brother, Wayne Martin of Midland; and two sisters, Shirley Yerg of Rocksprings, Texas; and Midge Dendy of Amarillo, Texas.
Memorial services have been scheduled for 3 p.m. Saturday, March 5, 2005, at Ellis Funeral Home Chapel.

Hazel May Smith
Odessa - Hazel May Smith, beloved by so many, passed away Friday March 18, 2005, at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa, Texas.
Hazel was born June 4, 1910, in Hastings, Okla., to Ellis Clay McFarland and Malissa E. Mead. Hazel was the eldest of seven children.
She married
Rufus J. Smith on December 27, 1929, in Duncan, Okla. She and R.J. followed the developing oilfields starting in Oklahoma, across Texas to California until permanently settling in Odessa in 1946, where R.J. worked as a drilling superintendent until his death in 1969.
Hazel graduated high school in Empire, Okla.,
and attended college in Edmond, Okla. She was a homemaker and mother, working outside the home for Elliott’s Interiors of Odessa, Odessa College Bookstore and the University of Oklahoma Bookstore.
Hazel was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and her youngest son, Johnny Mack Smith.
Hazel is survived by her children, Vasca Beall and husband Michael of Weatherford, Texas, Janie Wilson and husband Jon of Edmond, Okla., Ronald Smith and wife Carole of Odessa and Donald Smith and wife Lynn of Farmersville, Texas; and daughter-in-law, Mary Smith, of Midland. She leaves one sister, Della Vann and husband Warren of Belfair, Wash.; and two brothers, Glen McFarland and wife Clara of Duncan, Okla., Lee McFarland and wife Iris of Lynnwood, Wash., who mourn her passing. She is also
survived by 12 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family received friends from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at Hubbard Kelly.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home of Odessa with Burt Groves of Eisenhower Church of Christ officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Her eight grandsons, Steven Beall, Jeff Beall, Patrick Beall, Scott Beall, Monty Smith, Michael Smith, Jason Smith and Jonathan Smith will serve as pallbearers.

Pauline Branson
Midland - Pauline Branson passed away Friday, April 1, 2005.
She was born Jan. 23, 1915, to Martson Eugene Clay and Lila Ann Puckett in Arkansas and was raised and educated there. Pauline married
Robert “Bob” Branson in 1931. They came to Midland in 1948 from Detroit. She was a member and Sunday School teacher at Belview Baptist Church for over 20 years. Pauline was a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, who loved cooking and taking care of her family. She loved reading her Bible and working crossword puzzles.
She was preceded in death by her husband; one daughter; one son; six brothers; two sisters; and two grandchildren.
Pauline is survived by one sister, Betty Donaldson of Michigan; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Monday, April 4 at Ellis Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bob Ellison officiating. Internment was at Resthaven Memorial Park. Arrangements are under the direction of Ellis Funeral Home.

Charles F. Gann Sr.
Odessa - Charles F. Gann Sr., 83, of Odessa, passed away Sunday, April 3, 2005, at his residence.
Charles was born March 14, 1922, in Burkburnett, Texas, to Homer Houston Gann and Zula Hina Gann. Charles grew up in North Texas, Ringo and Henrietta; joining the Army (post no. 4372) in 1942. He served four years and received an honorable discharge. Charles married
Delsie on July 4, 1948, in San Angelo; sadly she preceded him in death on October 9, 2000.
Charles worked as a welding contractor in Odessa; also as a water well driller; had his own business; and worked as a driller on oil wells in the West Texas oilfields. He was a proud member of Northside Baptist Church and the VFW.
Charles is survived by one daughter, Norma Gann of Dallas; two sons, Charlie Gann Jr. of Gardendale, and Joe Gann of Corpus Christi; four grandsons, Tony Gann of Mansfield, Nathan Gann of Gardendale, Joe Gann Jr. of Corpus Christi, and Chris Gann of Houston; one granddaughter, Jami Pulley of Plano; and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. today, April 5, 2005, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Clydel Chapman officiating. Military honors with the VFW will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

William Chilton ‘W.C.’ Moore Jr.
Odessa - William Chilton “W.C.” Moore Jr., 68, of Odessa, passed away Sunday, April 3, 2005, at his residence.
He was born June 7, 1936, in Midland to William Chilton “Chilt” Moore Sr. and Ethelda Whitmire Moore. He graduated from Midland High School in 1954. He was a draftsman and independent landman. He was a substitute teacher for Ector County Independent School District for 5 years, mainly at Nimitz Jr. High School, Bowie Jr. High School, Ector Jr. High School and Permian High School. His time in the school system was the most enjoyable of his later years. He went to Sul Ross University on a football scholarship, before he went into the US Marine Corps. He served most of his time in Okinawa, Japan. After serving in the Marines, he attended Texas Western in El Paso for 3 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Billy Dan Moore.
He is survived by his former wife; and best friend, Barbara E. Harris of Odessa.
Graveside services will be at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 6, at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Memorials may be made to Odessa Humane Society.

Talbert Lee Robbins
Odessa - Talbert Lee Robbins, 65, went to be with our Lord and Savior Monday, March 4, 2005 at the Hospice House in Odessa.
He was born Feb. 4, 1940, in Lexington to Talbert H. and Jessie Robbins.
“I see the tears roll down your face. Please remember I’m in a better place. I have no pain, I’m feeling so well, God is with me I can tell. Only cry for me a while, close your eyes and you can see me smile. The warmth you feel in your heart, it’s just me letting you know we will never part. My beloved children you’re not alone, you have each other, and you must go on. When you are sad, sit down for a while, think of me and you will smile. God works in many wonderful ways, we will see each other again one of these days. Every time you say a prayer, you will know I am there.”
Talbert spent his life loving and taking care of his family and putting their needs first. His was a personality of patience, love and kindness. He retired from Superior Electric, after 40 and a half years and worked for Reynolds Company from 2002 to 2003. He had a passion for woodworking.
His father, Talbert H. Robbins preceded him in death.
He will be greatly missed by his beloved wife, Sheri Robbins of Odessa; mother, Jessie Robbins of Lexington; children, Donna Collins and husband, Jerry, of Arlington, Debbie Boyles and husband, Tim, of Gardendale, Sharon Duggan and husband, Carl, of Kemah, Patty Davis of Springfield, Mo., Ken Davis, Sheri Robertson and husband, Alan, and Kathy Horton and husband, Lynn, all of Odessa, Vivian Paton and husband, Sam, of Naples, Fla., and Steve Davis and Mike Davis, both of San Antonio; sisters, Laverne Martin and husband, Randal, Vera Mae Stamport and husband, Buddy, Shirley Stamport and husband, Charlie, and Francis Shelton and husband, Willie, all of Lexington; 22 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 6 at Northside Baptist Church with the Rev. Clydel Chapman officiating. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 7 at the City cemetery in Lexington.
The family would like to thank Dr. Hendrickson, Dr. Sheila Olano, Dr. Neerukonda, Dr. McLarey, Home Hospice, especially Donella and Holly, the staff of Hospice House and Clydel Chapman for their care and support.

Lola M. Taylor
KERMIT - Lola M. Taylor, 91, passed away Saturday, April 2, 2005, in Kermit.
She was born Aug. 22, 1913, in Cumby to Oliver Levi Winkle and Ola Lee Newell Winkle. Lola was a resident of Kermit for 57 years and a member of Belvue Baptist Church. She retired from C.R. Anthony Department Store, where she was employed as a clerk for many years.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 75 years, Lowell Taylor of Kermit; her son, L.C. Taylor of Universal City; two brothers; Calvin D. Winkle of Dallas, and O.L. Winkle of Fritch; three sisters; Dorothy King of Healdton, Okla., Wanda Landers of Duncanville, and Fay Clark of Whitewright.
She will also be missed by her grandchildren; James Taylor of Huntersville, N.C., Diane Martin of Sierra Vista, Ariz., Lynda Collins of Matthews, N.C., Monica Taylor Fagett of Converse; and great-grandson, Joshua Collins of Matthews, N.C.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today at Belvue Baptist Church in Kermit with the Rev. Bill Campbell officiating. Interment will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 7 at Oakhill cemetery in Whitewright.

Mabel V. Wall
Dublin - Mabel V. Wall, 96, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, lovingly known as “Nanny, ” passed away Saturday, April 2, 2005, at Medical Center Hospital.
She was born in Alexander in Erath County June 19, 1908, to W.R. and Nettie Strong. She married
the “light of her life” R.L. Wall July 25, 1942 in Dublin. He preceded her in death November 18, 1956. Mabel attended John Tarleton University and received her bachelor of science degree from University of North Texas. She retired from the El Paso Independent School District in 1975 as a second grade teacher. Her teaching career spanned from the 1930s in a one-room schoolhouse, until her retirement. Upon retirement, she moved from El Paso to Odessa to be closer to her family. She had a great passion for teaching and loved children.
Mrs. Wall was a life member of Retired Teachers Association and a member of the Local Retired Teachers Association, a former member of Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority, and an active member of Wesley Sunday School class at Asbury United Methodist Church, where she was a devoted Christian.
Family and gardening became her inspiration. After retirement, her daughter, grandchildren and great-grandchildren became the center of her life. She had a kind heart and nurturing ability that she shared with everyone. Her passion for gardening was shared with everyone. She spent most of her life rejoicing in the lives of her daughter, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved her.
She is preceded in death by her husband, R. L. Wall; her parents, W.R. and Nettie Strong; two brothers, J.T. Strong and Sam Strong; and one sister, Gracie Mae Fisher.
Mabel Wall is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Eades and husband, Royce, of Hobbs, N.M.; three grandchildren, Kary Bailey and husband, John, Robert Evans and wife, Lydia, and Todd Evans, all of Odessa; three great-grandchildren, Morgan Evans of Dallas, and Austin and Dystani Bailey, both of Odessa; six step-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. today at Asbury United Methodist Church with the Rev. Paul Bauernfeind officiating. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 6 at Live Oak cemetery.

Bobby Knox Beck
Midland - Bobby Knox Beck, 21, died Saturday, April 9, 2005, in Abilene.
A memorial service was at 7 p.m. Monday evening at the Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 542 Hickory Ave. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Fairview cemetery.
Bobby was preceded in death by his mother in December 2003. He will be laid to rest beside her.
He was born to Michelle (Carter) and Grady Beck on November 7, 1983, in Midland. Bobby worked as a floor hand in the oil field. He loved music and his family.
Survivors include his father, Grady Beck and his wife, Lori, of Odessa; brothers, Cole James of Midland, Dustin Sartain and Jonathan Beck, both of Odessa; and a sister, Kristen Beck of Odessa. Bobby is also survived by his maternal grandmother, Valerie Flowers of Clyde; his paternal grandparents, Ernest and Elizabeth Beck of Ranger; great-grandparents, Nellie and Marshall Flowers of Abilene; aunts, Heather Sorensen and husband James Bramlett, Marty Carter of Abilene, Rachel Conley of Clyde, Shannon Wallace and husband, Stacy, of Midland, and Sherri Ainsworth and husband, Ronnie, of Ranger; uncles, Wylie Beck of Ranger, and Buddy Beck of Michigan; several cousins; and many friends.
Tommy L. Clyburn
League City - Tommy L. Clyburn, of League City, passed away April 9, 2005, in Houston.
Tommy was born in Hawley, Texas, on August 16, 1938, and was the youngest child of Ella and Lewis “Slim” Clyburn. He has seven brothers and sisters and is survived by his sister, Bobbi Barnes of Midland, Texas, and numerous family and friends in West Texas. He was preceded in death by his son, David W. Clyburn
Tommy graduated from Hawley High School, class of 1956, and joined the Army, shortly after graduation. He was always involved in racing cars and motorcycles, then became a pilot and owned many airplanes over the years. His “Baby” was a 1967 Mooney M-20E, which won numerous “Best of Show” awards in Kerrville, Texas. The Mooney is now owned by his son-in-law, David Caughell.
Tommy had recently retired from a career in the petrochemical industry as a project manager with jobs in the United States and in the Caribbean.
Tommy is survived by his wife of 22 years. Vikki Clyburn, of League City; one daughter, Tracye Caughell of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, and was the only father Vikki’s daughter, Allison Armstrong of League City, ever knew.
He was so proud of his three granddaughters, Caitlyn and Britney Caughell of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, and Ashleigh Armstrong of League City.
Honorary Pallbearers will be: Lee Robb, Bob Atchley, Charles Bearicks, Kenneth Hurst, Art Denmon, Larry Malone, Steve Storm, Dane Ellis, Tim Franke, Matthew Peters, Lefty McCathern, Doctor David Caughell and in spirit, Curtis “Bubba” Melton.
Memorial services will be today, April 13, at Jack Rowe Funeral Home of League City, 1625 E. Main St., with visitation for family and friends beginning at 1 p.m. to celebrate his life.
