Myrna Murr O’Dey

July 3, 1940—July 21, 2005
Anaheim, Calif. - Services were held for Myrna Murr O’Dey at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 27, at Melrose Abby cemetery.
She grew up in Odessa and graduated from Odessa High School. She lived in California for 45 years and had been retired from Pacific Bell for 10 years.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Esther Simon Murr; her father, Steve Murr; and brother, Steve Murr Allman.
Her survivors include her husband, Chuck O’Dey; children, Carrie, Laurie, Chuck Jr., and Keli and husband, Everett of Anaheim, Calif.; sisters, Carolyn Murr Thomson and husband, Don, of Alpine, and Jan Murr Cook and husband, Frank, of Odessa; grandchildren, Stephanie and Jennifer; and other loving relatives.
We will all miss her.

Jackie Joiner

Odessa - Jackie Joiner, 49, of Odessa, passed away on Monday, August 1, 2005, at her residence, after a lengthy Illness.
Jackie was born on January 5, 1956, in Mobile, Alabama, to Everett and Vivian Eaton. Jackie married Audrey Joiner on January 22, 1972. Jackie was a loving Christian wife and mother to both her own
children and many others who needed her though the years.
She is survived by her
husband of 33 years, Audrey Joiner; her sons, David Joiner and wife, April, Bo Joiner, Justin Joiner, Joshua Joiner and Patrick Joiner; her sisters, Jill Wallace, Maxine Brown, and Susan Smith; her brothers, Buddy Eaton and Bobby Eaton; nephews, Heath Joiner, Bill Joiner, Neil Smith and Michael Eaton; nieces, Cassandra Driver, Melissa Miller, Sabina Hersh, Lorrie Harvel, Jeanel Brown, Cindy Nazario, Carlo Beutel and Christine Schloesser; many grandchildren; and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. on today, August 3, 2005, at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Sam Watts officiating.
Services are entrusted to Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Bill ‘B.J.’ Waldrop

Kilgore - Services for Bill “B.J.” Waldrop, 76, of Kilgore, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 3, at Rader Funeral Home with the Reverend David Hampton officiating.
Mr. Waldrop died Monday, August 1, 2005, in Tyler, Texas.
He was born October 3, 1928, in Abilene, Texas, to Charlie and Roxie Waldrop. Mr. Waldrop married Faye Coleman January 11, 1952, in Odessa. He was an independent plumbing contractor who founded National Plumbing and Heating of Odessa and Garland, Texas. Mr. Waldrop was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Kilgore, where he was a deacon and a member of the Master’s Sunday School class.
Mr. Waldrop is survived by his wife, Faye Waldrop of Kilgore; a daughter and son-in-law, Jackie and Russ Pounds of Grand Prairie, Texas; a son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Karen Waldrop of Southlake, Texas; a brother, J.A. Waldrop of Odessa; five grandchildren, Jordan Waldrop, Kasey Pounds, Jacob Waldrop, Mason and Shawna Pounds; and numerous nieces, nephews and other loving family members.
There will be a visitation from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday morning at Sunset Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, Odessa, Texas, with the committal services.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Missions Fund of the First Baptist Church of Kilgore, P.O. Box 1170, Kilgore, TX 75663.

Chris Tillery

Odessa - Chris Tillery, our precious husband, daddy, son and friend met his Savior August 1, 2005.
He has courageously battled cancer for the last eight years. He has maintained his faithful walk with the Lord and his never-ending love for his family. He was admired for his charm and sense of humor and never knew a stranger. He showed remarkable concern for the patients surrounding him through his many cancer treatments.
He was adored by his cherished daughters, Kelsey, 10, and Madison, 8. They will forever be blessed by the legacy of love and determination he has left them.
He found joy in many outdoor activities, especially fishing, boating, golfing and cooking.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Bill Smith; and paternal grandfather, Jack “Poppy” Tillery
and mother-in-law, Shirley Leonard.
He is survived by a loving family; his faithful wife of 15 years, Leslie; and precious daughters, Kelsey and Madison of Odessa; beloved parents, Frances Tillery of Odessa, and Rip Tillery of Houston; sisters, Tracy Breidenthal of Conroe, and Holly Guinn of Odessa; grandparents, Honey Tillery of Pittsburg, Texas, and Edde Smith of Odessa; father-in-law, Jim Leonard of Odessa. He loved all of his nieces and nephews, Amanda Dugan, Tara Dugan, Kelly Breidenthal, Courtney Taliaferro, Chase Taliferro, Haley Williams and Tyler Guinn.
The family will receive visitors from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Frank Wilson Funeral Directors.
Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, August 4, 2005, at Temple Baptist Church.
Pallbearers will be: Mark Allen, Blake Batte, Chuck Daniels, Michael Taliaferro, Wes Smith, Cody Smith, Eric Echols, Donny McCulloch and Jimmy McCandlids.
Memorial may be made to the American Cancer Society of Odessa, 811 Central, Odessa, TX 79761.
Services are entrusted to Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.

Ralph B. Flournoy

Kingsland - Ralph B. Flournoy, 89 of Kingsland, died Thursday from cancer and its consequences.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, Aug. 9 at Highland Lakes Church of Christ, at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Lakeland Hills Memorial Church in Burnet County officiated by Bro. Joe Winnett.
Arrangements by Waldrope-Hatfield-Hawthorne Funeral Home Inc, Kingsland, Tx.
Through his long and happy life, Ralph loved his wife, Louise, his sons, Wayne and James, and their wives, Elaine and Molly, respectively. Many things brought him happiness and strength during his lifetime — his family, his church, friends, fishing, golf, and singing. His active retirement in Kingsland, Texas, came after a long and successful career with Shell Oil Company as a drilling foreman. He will be missed.
Survivors: Sons, Wayne Flournoy and wife, Elaine, of Colorado Springs, and James Flournoy, and wife, Molly, of Houston; brother, Luther Flournoy and wife Bonnie, of Lubbock; sister, Nora Durham of Roswell; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
preceded in death: Wife, Louise, of Kingsland; one sister; and five brothers.

Toby and Sue Hart

Odessa - Sara Sue Hart, age 81, a devoted wife and mother, passed away Friday, Aug. 5, 2005, at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa.
She was born Dec. 3, 1923, in Mineral Wells, Texas. She married Newton O’Brien “Toby” Hart on July 5, 1941, in Weatherford, Texas, later moving to Odessa in 1955. They were members of Sherwood Baptist Church, where she was very active in teaching Sunday school and Bible studies. She was an active witness and very involved in her church work.
Newton O’Brien “Toby” Hart, 86, devoted husband and father, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2005, at his residence.
He was born March 17, 1919, in Eastland. He was a deacon and chairman of the deacons for many years at Second Baptist Church. He worked for Texaco Oil Co. for 49 years and retired as a production supervisor.
They are survived by sons, Toby Ray Hart and wife, Dodie, of Charlotte, N.C., Larry Hart and wife, Thea, of Tulsa, Okla.; three grandchildren, Melanie Suzanne Ysen and husband, Travis, Kevin O’Brien Hart and Jonathan Douglas Hart; and one great-grandchild is due in late February. Also surviving Toby are his brother, Bill Hart of Eastland; his sister, Marie Brock of Abilene; and Sue’s brother-in-law, Wilbur Roberts of Carlsbad, N.M.
Toby and Sue had prayed that they would go to heaven together. They died four days apart and were laid to rest together on Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2005, after 64 years of marriage.
Services are entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

Terie Augusta Segler

Odessa - Terie Augusta Segler, 87, beloved mother, went to be with her Lord, family and friends Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2005.
She was born March 4, 1918, in Mart, Texas, to William Lee and Lilly Belle Hicks Burrough.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Conway Segler; son, Joe Dean Segler Sr.; and grandson, Anthony Segler.
She is survived by her daughter, Pat Swearingen and husband, Boyd, and Linda LaRoque; son, Charles
Segler; grandchildren, Alecia Bumstead, Jimmy Wayne Williams, Joe Kevin Williams, Kent Swearingen, Keith Swearingen, Troy Martin, Brady Martin, Joe Dean Segler Jr., Becky Segler, Tammy Segler and Ronald Segler; and several great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. (MST) Thursday, Aug. 11, at the Prairie Haven cemetery in Hobbs, N.M., where she will be laid to rest next to her husband. Services will be held by her longtime minister, Brother Emmett Barnard.
Memorials may be made to Seabury Nursing Home or Home Hospice.
Services are entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

Thelma ‘Grandmother’ Toles

Odessa - Thelma Toles (fondly known by all as “Grandmother”) went home to heaven Sunday, Aug. 7, 2005.
She was born Feb. 12, 1910, in Lamar County, Texas. She had been a resident of Odessa, Texas, since 1937 and was a charter member of Immanuel Baptist Church, where she faithfully served for more than 67 years. Her greatest joy was serving her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Jess Toles; and her daughter, Betty Brown.
Her survivors include daughter, Sharon Gillham and husband, Bobby, of Odessa; son-in-law, Jim Ray Brown of Odessa; grandchildren, Ray and Carla Ford of Friendswood, Rick and Kathy Brown of Lubbock, Kyle and Tricia Brown of Cypress, Shawn and Dana Gillham of Hubbard, Texas, and Shay Gillham of Midland, Texas; great-grandchildren, Nathan Ford, Avery Ford, Joshua Brown, Wesley Brown, Paytyn Gillham, Braydyn Gillham, Caydyn Gillham and Jaydyn Gillham.
Family visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, Aug. 11, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 12, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bill Cook officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

Joe Campbell

Odessa - Joe Campbell, 66, of Odessa, passed away Monday, August 15, 2005, at Alliance Hospital in Odessa.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 18, at the Frank Wilson Chapel with doctor Jimmy Braswell officiating. Interment followed at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
He married Margaret Ausbern in Crane, Texas, on December 20, 1958. She preceded him in death on August 31, 2004. Joe was employed by LMB Real Estate. Joe’s greatest pleasure was cooking for his family and friends. He loved trying new recipes and different foods. He and Margaret traveled extensively and he enjoyed telling stories of the places they had been. Joe loved to spend time with his family and friends and always had time for someone in need. He always had a twinkle in his eye and was quick to laugh. His warmth and humor touched everyone he knew. He liked watching old movies and collected American Eagles and John Wayne memorabilia.
He is survived by his mother, Mary S. Campbell of Odessa; son John Campbell of Odessa; daughters, Vikki Hagan of Odessa, Rhonda Johnson and husband, Buzz, of Odessa, and Rena Pollard of Dallas; and grandchildren, Timothy Campbell, Jessica Johnson, Anthony Johnson and wife, Janice, and Taylor Hagan; and great-granddaughters, Ryleigh Campbell and Taylor Couch, all of Odessa.
Services are entrusted to Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.

Amy Rogers

Odessa - Amy Rogers, 39, of Odessa, passed away on August 15, 2005, in Odessa.
She was born on November 8, 1965, in Odessa. She was a hairdresser.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, August 20, 2005, at Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Jimmy Brasewell.
She is survived by her son, Joe Ellenburg of Odessa. She had many other family members and friends.
Services are entrusted to Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
