Bonnie Jean Cook
ODESSA - Bonnie Jean Cook, 72, of Odessa, passed away August 19, 2005, at Medical Center Hospital, after a long battle with cancer.
She was born on November 3, 1932 in Waco, Texas, to William and Ruby Hardaway.
She has been in Odessa since 1958 and was a dedicated homemaker.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, August 22, 2005, at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Odessa, Texas, with the Rev. Paul Thompson officiating.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister.
Bonnie is survived by twin daughters, Shelley Thatcher and Shirley Moore, both of Odessa; two sons, Terry Cook of Odessa and Curtis Cook of Gunbarrel City; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Services are entrusted to Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
Clyde Shugart
ODESSA - Clyde Shugart, age 79, of Odessa, died Saturday August 20, 2005, at his home.
He was born February 2, 1926, in Turkey, Texas, to Lenard and Mary Shugart.
Family visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, August 22, 2005, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 23, 2005, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
He is preceded in death by both parents; brothers, Arlin and Jack Shugart; and one son, Al Shugart.
Clyde married
Wanda Brown on August 15, 1950. He began his life’s occupation as a tool pusher for J.E. Perkins Drilling, then became a self-employed builder.
His love of travel and fishing always included family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda Shugart; son, Clyde R. Shugart and wife, Anne; daughter, Teresa Fuentes and her husband, Sam; six grandchildren, Tom Trainor, Laura Vestal, Marcy, Kari and Megan Shugart, all of Odessa; Trey Trainor of Austin, Tim Shugart of Ohio and Tammy Yocom of West Virginia; and five great-grandchildren, Samantha, Brandyn, James IV, Thomas and Abigail.

Reynoldo ‘Rey’ ‘Nano’ Vejil
Albuquerque, N.M. - Reynoldo “Rey” “Nano” Vejil, 65, a resident of Albuquerque, N.M., since 1963, passed away Friday, Aug. 5, 2005.
Rey was born Dec. 27, 1939, in Balmorhea, the son of Ernest and Felipa Garcia Vejil.
Rey earned a B.S. degree from New Mexico Sate University in electrical engineering and also worked as a real estate broker and a general contractor.
He was also proud to serve his country in the U.S. Army.
He found his spiritual path in 1998 — Rey and his wife, Kim, built a bed and breakfast (B&B Hacienda de Colores) with a chapel attached.
He took great pleasure in performing weddings and conducting deeply moving memorial services in their own chapel.
Rey is survived by his parents of Odessa; his wife, Kim of Albuquerque; two daughters, Tacy and Lesa; one stepdaughter, Suzanna; one son, Dino; one brother, George and his wife, Imelda, of Santa Fe.
An open house for Rey was held Thursday, Aug. 11, at the Hacienda de Colores.
Arrangements were by Vista Verde Mortuary of Rio Rancho, N.M.
The family wishes to thank the staff of the UNM Cancer Research and Treatment Center with a special thank you to Dr. Brian Shelley and Dr. Robert Foreman for the dedication in supporting Rey in his six-year fight to overcome prostate cancer.
And thanks to all the family and friends that shared their sympathy, food and prayers in our time of need.

Eddie Mae Hogg Woodward
FORT STOCKTON - Eddie Mae Hogg Woodward, 76, of Girvin, Texas, passed away Friday, Aug. 19, 2005, at Medical Center Hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 22, 2005, at the Fort Stockton Church of Christ. Burial will immediately follow at the East Hill cemetery.
She was born April 4, 1929, in Ranger, Texas, to Tiney Bell and Frank J. (Pete) Hogg.
She was married
to Louis Ferrell Woodward on Jan. 13, 1950. She was a ranch wife and had lived in Girvin, Texas, since 1963. She previously lived in Crane County.
She was a member of the Church of Christ and was a wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
Eddie Mae grew up in McCamey during the oil boom of the 30s, living in a shotgun house.
After graduating from high school, she worked for the phone company. At the time she married
Louis, she was a district supervisor.
After her marriage, she became a dedicated ranch wife, helping Louis raise four boys during good time and bad.
Eddie Mae and Louis began ranching with his family in Terrell County.
They moved to Crane County to being ranching the 50s, where the oldest two boys were born during the drought.
Shortly after the twins were born, she moved with her family to ranching operations with his four sons in Pecos and Culberson counties.
Eddie Mae joined her husband and companion of 55 years, who preceded her in death just four weeks earlier.
She is survived by four sons, Ernest Woodward of Bakersfield, Lowell and Carol Woodward of Alpine, Boyd (Skip) and Debbie Woodward of Bakersfield and Loyd (Snap) Woodward of Girvin; brothers, Carl and Carolyn Hogg of San Angelo; Cecil and Wanda Hogg of Junction; seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Ellie Mae will be missed in many of the organizations she was a member of. Mrs. Woodward was part of the Historical Society, Magna Usui Study Club, Fort Stockton Garden Club, Texas Sheep and Goat Raiders Association, Buena Vista School Board and the Pecos County Appraisal Board.
She also traveled with Louis to his many organization meetings, especially Federal Land Bank meetings.
Pallbearers are her four sons, Ernest, Lowell, Snap and Skip Woodward; her grandsons, Cade, Colton and Justin; and her nephew, Neil Woodward.
Eddie Mae was preceded in death by her husband, mother and father.
The family asks that donations be made to your favorite charity in lieu of flowers.
The family appreciates all the many thoughts, prayers and kindnesses during these last few weeks.
Billy Duane Miller
RANKIN - Billy Duane Miller, 72, of Gardendale, Texas, passed away on August 18, 2005, at Snyder Oaks Care Center in Snyder, Texas.
He was born on December 27, 1932, in Vealmoor, Texas, to William J. Miller and Jewel Miller.
Mr. Miller married
Bennie Leverett on September 7, 1973, in Andrews, Texas.
He worked in the oilfield as a drilling consultant for more than 26 years.
Billy was a dedicated member of Southern Baptist Church in Gardendale, Texas.
Graveside services will be held ar 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 24, 2005, at Rankin cemetery in Rankin, Texas with K.C. Blackketter officiating.
He is survived by his wife Bennie Miller of Gardendale; a son, Billy Miller Jr. and wife Susan of Midland; three daughters; Kim Branch of Odessa, Tammy Evans of Midland, and Rue Anna Bell and husband Reagan; two stepdaughters; Kay Haile and husband Lynn of Albuquerque, N.M., Sue Burk and husband Bob of Fort Worth; a brother, Eugene Miller of Midland; 12 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Harriette Elizabeth Rutherford
Victoria - Harriette Elizabeth Rutherford, 87, of Rising Star, Texas died Thursday, August 18, 2005 in Victoria, Texas.
Harriette was born on August 11, 1918, in Healdon, Oklahoma to Dee and Lenora Henley-Moren.
She married
James A. Rutherford on January 15, 1946 in Breckenridge, Texas.
They enjoyed 40 wonderful years together before James passed away on April 30, 1986.
She and her husband James were also owners of the First State Bank of Rising Star for numerous years.
Harriette is survived by one son, Jim Rutherford and his wife, Robbie Joy of Bryan, TX; 2 daughters, Judy and her husband, Ken Butler of Victoria, TX; Kaycee and her husband, Weldon Butler of Odessa, TX; 10 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Rutherford; sister, Dorothy Ward; 2 brothers, Pete and Claude Moren; grandson, Tyler Rutherford; granddaughter, Kaylee Upton.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 21, 2005, at Higginbotham Funeral Home Chapel with Dick Williams officiating and Matt McGowen assisting.
Burial will be in the Rising Star cemetery in Rising Star, Texas with Higginbotham Funeral Home of Rising Star in charge.
