Jeremy Douglas Bennett
Odessa - Jeremy Douglas Bennett, 49, of Odessa, passed away at Medical Center Hospital, Monday, October 24th, 2005, after a motor vehicle accident in Odessa.
Mr. Bennett was born October 11th, 1956, in Oxford, England to Robert R. Bennett, and Aileen L. Atkinson. He served in the United States Marine Corps and worked as a caser in the oilfields.
Jeremy is survived by his mother; Aileen Quinn, and her husband Courtney Quinn, of Kennesaw, Georgia, his father; Robert Bennett, of Odessa, a brother; Scott Porter of Canton, Georgia, and a sister; Lisa Rawlins, of Dallas, Georgia, also four nieces and four nephews.
The family will have a visitation in his honor, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, the 28th of October, 2005, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
Services and interment will take place at a later date in Kennesaw, Georgia.

John L. Smith
Odessa - John L. Smith went to be with his Lord on Monday, October 17, 2005. He was born May 9, 1940 in Comanche Country, Kansas to Freman and Edyth Smith. He preceded in death by his father, mother, sister and step dad, John Black.
He is survived by his wife Marjorie F. Smith, two daughters, Karen Maynard and husband, Rodney of Irving, Tx, Kolenna Strange and husband, Ray, of Odessa, Tx, one grandson, Jeremy Maynard of Abilene, Tx and two granddaughters, Natalie Maynard and Bethany Maynard of Irving, Tx; two brothers, Frank Smith of Coldwater, Kansas and Roy Black of Hartford, Kansas, one sister, Carolyn Smith of Wichita, Kansas; and a host of family and friends.
John was a professional truck driver for 43 years in the Permian Basin, retiring in 2002 from Weatherford USA. Since that time he has enjoyed a life long goal of volunteering in Texas State Parks as a Campground Host. He spent numerous hours in Palo Duro Canyon State Park and in Fairfield Lake State Park.
Services will be 10:00 am Friday in the Frank Wilson Chapel with Rev. Jerry Slye officiating. Burial will follow at 2:00 pm in the Gains County cemetery in Seminole, Tx. Visitation will be 7-8:00 pm Thursday at the funeral home.

ODESSA - Audrey Walker, 52, of Odessa, passed away Sunday, Oct. 16, 2005, at Medical Center Hospital.
Audrey was born in Aug. 15, 1953 to the late Henry Smith Jr. and Marjorie Malone Miller in Rockdale. She was a proud member of King Solomon Missionary Baptist Church all of her life.
Survivors: One son, Antione Walker of Odessa; daughters, Kasheva Smith and Tekeya Smith, both of Odessa; her mother, Majorie Miller of Odessa; brother, Tony Smith of Houston; sisters, Linda Moore and husband Calvin, and Eula Taylor, all of Odessa, Sandra Billups and Sherry Flax and husband Sammy, all of Bryan, Paula Morgan and husband Donnie and Charlette Smith, all of Killeen; five grandchildren: Jamia, Jazmine, and Joshua Graham, Kiara Smith, and Akembrea Walker; and many nieces and nephews all who admired her greatly.
Services to celebrate her life is scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21, 2005, at Rose of Sharon Missionary Baptist Church (Rev. J.W. Hanson, pastor) with the Rev. G.T. Garnett officiating.

Ruth LouElla Peterson, August 21, 1943, in Runnels County, Texas. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a member of Waples Baptist Church. Mr. West was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Yoma Fowler and Dora Henson, and a brother, Raymond West.
