Andrews - Marjorie Janice Phelps, 84, of Andrews, a former dispatcher and artist, died Friday, Aug 12, 2005, at Permian Regional Medical Center in Andrews.

She was born in Belcher, La. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Andrews.

Robert Lyle Birt
ODESSA - Robert Lyle Birt, 82, a longtime resident of Odessa passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2005 at Medical Center Hospital.
He was born February 20, 1923 in Chandler, Oklahoma. He served in the U. S. Army Air Corp during WWII in the Pacific Theatre. He retired from Santa Fe International.
He was a member of the V.F.W. in Odessa.
Robert loved to play cards, dominos and being with people.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Stephens Birt, parents, William and Katie Birt, and 16 brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his daughters, Shirley Elizondo of Midland, Billie Kam of Albany, CA, sister, Bessie Sweet of Taft, CA., (5) grandchildren: Leigh Elizondo, Jo Beth Boyer, Vicki Lowry, and Steven and David Kam, (8) great-grandchildren, Megan, Kyle, Michael, Janay, Kaysie, Teri, Andy and Emily and (5) great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, December 30, 2005, at Rosehill cemetery with Rev. Emmett Barnard officiating.

Roy Lee Casteel
ODESSA - Roy Lee Casteel, 83, of Fort Stockton passed away Thursday, December 29, 2005, in Odessa.
She was born September 7, 1922 in Fluvanna, TX to MarySue and Roy Lee Crunk.
Roy Lee had been a resident of many places in her life and she never met a stranger. Her life was one of adventure and travel and not afraid to try anything new. She had many who loved her very much and will be greatly missed by them.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Lee Casteel and brother, Hart Crunk.
She is survived by a sister, Bettie Sue Riley of Kermit, daughters, Lorece “Recie” Holmes of Albuquerque, N.M., Vivian Hanuschik and husband Jack of Odessa, Mary Ogle Williams and husband Mike of Ft. Stockton. sons, A. H. Bickle and wife Faith of Kermit, Thomas Bickle and wife Linda of Wink, David Bickle and wife Cathy of Wink, Richard Bickle and wife Vonna of Lafayette, LA., Stevie Bickle and wife Sarah of Memphis, TN., Rodney Bickle and wife Cindy of Simi Valley, CA. Raymon Lee Boling

ODESSA - For Raymon L. Boling, 88, of Odessa that blissful rest came Wednesday morning, December 28, 2005, at Medical Center Hospital.
Services will be held Saturday, December 31, at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church where Raymon has been a member since 1952.
Raymon first came to West Texas in December, 1937, working as a construction worker in Monahans. Returning to Johnson County Raymon united with his bride, Jennie Bess Lanham. They celebrated over 63 years of marriage until her death September 21, 2001.
The major portion of Raymon’s career was spent in the oilfields of West Texas. After working many years for several drilling companies he partnered in his own Chaparral Drilling Company. Later he started Hard Band Industries from which he retired in 1980.
Raymon was an avid sports enthusiast both as a participator and spectator. As a young man he excelled in football and baseball and as an adult in golf. For years he followed the Permian Panthers and took pride in his grandsons’ participation. Raymon loved to read and could freely converse with most anyone. Even in his final years of failing health he never lost his sense of humor or quick wit. Truly he will be missed by those whose lives he touched.
Raymon was preceded in death by his wife, Jennie; an infant daughter, Linda Sue; his parents, Perry and Lucy Boling; two sisters and two brothers.
He is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn and Jerry Poteet of Grand Prairie, Madalyn and James Baker of Menlo Park, CA, Louise and Gary Watson of Odessa; eight grandchildren and their spouses, Karen and Danny Kennemur of Grand Prairie, Randy and Peggy Poteet of Irving, Jenni and Steve Summers of Grand Prairie, Dal and Linda Watson of Midland, Nolan and Connie Watson of Lubbock, Russell Baker of Santa Fe, Lane Baker of Los Angeles, and Zane Watson of Lubbock. Also surviving is a nephew, Vernon Looper of San Antonio, two nieces, Imogene Gibson of Overland Park, KS and Mary Ann Maryol of Fort Worth as well as eleven great-grandchildren.
Services are entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home where family visitation will be held Friday, December 30 from 6-8 p.m.
The funeral will be conducted on Saturday by the Rev. Curtis Brewer.
The six grandsons will affectionately serve as pallbearers.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to First Baptist Church, the American Cancer Society or the charity of your choice.
