ODESSA - Laverne Lucille Panther, 78, a homemaker, died Wednesday, Jan. 28, 1998, at Medical Center Hospital.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. today at Hubbard-Kelly Chapel with the Rev. Don Fankhauser officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

She was born in Fairfax, Okla.

SURVIVORS: Husband, Bernard M. Panther of Odessa; son, Marlin Lee Panther of Lompoc, Calif.; daughter, Jody Monic Phelps of Portland, Texas; sister Elsie Walker of Joplin, Mo.; and eight grandchildren.

Ann Shields

CORSICANA - Ann Earle Hodges Shields, 71, a homemaker, died Wednesday, Jan. 28, 1998, in Houston.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Oakwood cemetery with the Rev. Jack Mills officiating. Arrangements by Corley Funeral Home.

She was born in East Texas and was Baptist.

SURVIVORS: Daughters, Patricia Cox of Deer Park, Melissa Paup of LaRue; brothers, John Hodges of Lewisville and James Hodges of California; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

ODESSA - Bessie Lee Estrada, 50, of Gardendale, died Thursday, Jan. 29, 1998, at Medical Center Hospital.

Services are pending with Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

Anna Harber

ODESSA - Anna May Harber, 64, of Odessa, died Friday, Jan. 30, 1998, at Stanton Care Center in Stanton.

Services are pending with Hubard-Kelly Funeral Home.

John Briggs

KERMIT - John Golden Briggs, 90, of Kermit, a retired plumbing business owner, died Saturday, Jan. 31, 1998, in the Kermit hospital.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 2, 1998, at Kermit Community Church with the Rev. Henry O. Freand officiating. Burial will be at Kermit cemetery. Arrangements by Cooper Funeral Home.

He was born in Kosse and was 61-year resident of Kermit. He was a member of Kermit Community Church.

SURVIVORS: Son, John F. Briggs of Odessa; daughter, Evelyn Briggs Martin of Arlington; sister, Inez Briggs of Marlin; six grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Leonard Brown

STANTON - Leonard Henry Brown, 90, of Stanton, died Thursday, Jan. 29, 1998, in Stanton.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 2, 1998, at First Baptist Church in Stanton with the Revs. Ronnie Brown Sr., L.C. Brown Jr., Alton Graves and Calvin Graves officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen cemetery. Arrangements by Gilbreath Funeral Home.

He was born in Bastrop.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Daisy Ann Brown of Stanton; sons, Bennie Ray Brown of Odessa and Leonard Brown Jr. of FortWorth; daughters, Druecillar Brown Houston of Midland, Shirley Brown Graves of Tahoka and Thelma Brown Smith of Lubbock; brother, Willie Brown of Muleshoe; 32 grandchildren; great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Willie Elam

SEMINOLE - Willie Turner Elam, 93, of Seminole, a homemaker, died Saturday, Jan. 31, 1998, in Seminole.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 2, 1998, at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Derrel Evins officiating. Burial will follow at the Gaines County cemetery. Arrangements by Ratliff Funeral Home.

She was born in Snyder and was a lifelong resident of Seminole. She was Methodist.

SURVIVORS: Son, Dayton Elam of Seminole; daughters, Debbie Baggett of Alvin and Johnnie Swearengen of Amarillo; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

SURVIVORS: Husband, Candelario Estrada of Gardendale; son, Charles C. Clark of Gardendale; daughter, Tonya Oea of Valparaiso, Ind.; brother, Ralph Shindler of Mt. Sterling, Ky.; sister, Barbara Cicel of Mt. Sterling, Ky.; and two grandchildren.

Francisco Fabela

Fort STOCKTON - Francisco M. 'Frisco' Fabela III, 36, of Fort Stockton, a contract legal assistant, died Friday, Jan. 30, 1998, in Fort Stockton.

Rosary will be held at 7 p.m. today at the Fort Stockton Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 2, 1998, at St. Joseph Church with the Rev. Jim Chaumont officiating. Burial will be at East Hill cemetery. Arrangements by Fort Stockton Funeral Home.

He was a lifelong resident of Fort Stockton. He was Catholic.
