Affectionately known as “Daddy”, “Dad”, “Sid”, “Grandad”, “Grandaddy”, “Great Grandaddy”, and “Papaw”, he was admired appreciated, honored and greatly loved by all his family & friends. Charlene, one of his newest friends made through Home Hospice, aptly described Sid as both a “gentleman” and a “gentle man”. He never lost his Louisiana accent nor his love for his home state, even after having been in Texas for more than 70 years. Fascinating and funny tales flowed out of him in intricate detail and even at age 94, an occasional new one could still be told. Words cannot express the joy he brought, the lessons he taught, the examples he modeled, the help he gave, the character he displayed, the grace he extended, and the patience and perseverance he possessed. Neither can words express how deeply we will miss him and the empty place his leaving will create. We thank God for every precious day of his life and we know he will always be with us in spirit, even as he is in the Father’s arms in heaven.
Sid’s family wishes to thank the staff and volunteers of Home Hospice who provided dignified, loving care to him.
