Helen Ruth Louder
Stanton - Helen Ruth Louder, 86, of Stanton, died on Wednesday, September 28, 2005, in a local nursing home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, September 30, 2005 at the First Baptist Church of Stanton with Rev. David Harp, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen cemetery Stanton.
She was born to Noah and Ruth Range on November 12, 1918, in Waco, Texas and married
Tull Ray Louder on December 22, 1945 in Dallas, Texas. He preceded her in death on May 21, 2001. Mrs. Louder taught school at the Chapman Ranch which included children from the King Ranch, and Buckner Orphans Home in Dallas, which was her favorite teaching job. She also taught school in Stanton, Grady, and Garden City retiring in the early 1970’s. Her hobbies were her children and grandchildren, she enjoyed story telling and reading. She was a member of First Baptist Church, was active in church and Sunday School, was also a member of Beta Sigma Phi which she especially enjoyed, Stanton Music Club, worked with the American Cancer Society, was active in the American EX-POW, and worked with Cub Scouts.
Survivors include three sons and two daughters-in-law, Ray and Judy Louder of Odessa, Jim Louder of Stanton, and Gene and Becca Louder also of Stanton; three grandsons, Darrell, Dewayne and Tullie Louder; two granddaughters, Carly and Sarah Louder; two great grandsons, Cory and Nicholas Louder and one great granddaughter, Brittny Robbins; two sisters, Catherine Willhoite of Long Beach, California and Joan Stark of Midland.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, Haskel Range.

Sheena Arnes Ray
Midland - Sheena Arnes Ray, 21, passed away September 27, 2005, in Lubbock County, Texas.
Sheena was born September 21, 1984, and is the second daughter and child of William, and Annette Ray of Odessa, Texas. She was adored and admired by her sisters Shimene and Shayna and her brother Sherard.
Sheena was a proud Permian Panther and a 2003 graduate. Her most enjoyable high school experience was running track, under Carl Chancellor, with her cousin and friend, Shakeyah Powell. Sheena was in the gifted and talented classes and graduated with honors. Ms. Ray planned to attend culinary school in New York after college as a pastry chef. She was affectionately called “granny” by her track and basketball team and she loved to bake pastries, and often baked chocolate chip cookies for her friends and family in high school, and continued cooking for her dorm sisters, and friends for get-togethers and special celebrations.
Ms. Ray had a compassionate nature that inspired her to give to the homeless people, friends, and family, and many more who needed help, food, or money. She was a junior, at Eastern New Mexico University on an academic and track scholarship, and was truly a gift from God, to everyone she met.
Sheena is survived by her parents; Bill and Annette Ray, sisters; Shimene and her husband, Geremy Willard, and Shayna Ray, brother; Sherard Ray, grandparents; Mr. & Mrs. Wilmer Ray, and Mr. and Mrs. Delmon Lyons, great-grandparents; Mr. & Mrs. William Ray and Mrs. Maggie Hunter, godparents; Mr. and Mrs. Price Whitaker all of Odessa, Texas.
A service to celebrate her life is scheduled for 2:00p.m., Friday, September 30, 2005, at Mid-Cities Church, in Midland, Texas, with Kevin York, officiating.

Elsie Travis
Odessa - Elsie Winnifred Hadley Travis, 89, passed away September 25th, 2005, at Sienna Care Center in Odessa, Texas.
Elsie was born, May 1st, 1916, in Wellston, Oklahoma, and she married
Vaulder Jewell Travis July 20th, 1940, in Lovington, New Mexico. Mr. Travis passed away December 21, 1973.
Mrs. Travis was preceded in death by her parents; Norman Edward and Ethel Lee Hadley, two sons; Vaulder Jewell Travis, Jr. and Robert Augustus “Gus” Travis, two brothers; James A. Hadley and Robert C. Hadley.
Elsie is survived by three brothers; Norman Edward “Mac” Hadley, of Prescott Valley, Arizona, Ronald Dean Hadley, of Santa Teresa, New Mexico, and Donald Gene Hadley, of Herndon, Virginia.
The family will receive friends Thursday, September 29th, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
A service, celebrating her life, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, the 30th of September, in the Chapel at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home with Lynn Money officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be sent to your favorite charity.
Committal service will follow at 3:00 p.m. MDT, in Tatum, New Mexico.

Grady O. Whiteside
Odessa - Grady O. Whiteside 83, of Odessa passed away Monday, September 26, 2005 at his residence in Odessa.
The family will receive visitors from 6 to 8:00 pm on Thursday at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
Funeral services will be 10:00 am Friday at First Assembly of God Church with Rev. Paul Thompson officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Grady was born May 26, 1922, in Mooreville, Mississippi to Samuel Ambrose and Helen (Towery) Whiteside. He served in the US Air Force. Grady married
Maudene Williams, June 7, 1946 in Morton. He worked for the Odessa Police Department for 17 years. He loved fishing but his first love was his family. He was a devoted family man.
Grady is survived by his wife Maudene Whiteside of Odessa, sons Dale Whiteside and wife Maria of Dublin, Texas, Terry Whiteside and wife Nadeen of Midland, brothers Bill A. Whiteside of Farrell, Dr. Francis Whiteside of Borger, sister Orlean Vandirer of Oklahoma City, grandchildren Shelly Norwood Heath Whiteside, Joy Whiteside and great grandchildren Cameron Norwood and Eric Copavo

Anita W. Daniel
Odessa Anita W. Daniel, age 74 of Odessa, passed away, Thursday, September 29, 2005 at Home Hospice. She was born September 9, 1931 in Lamb County, Texas to her parents, Jess H. & M. Maxine Cooper Clarkson.
She came to Odessa in 1954, and retired from Key Energy after 22 years as an accounting clerk. She was a Baptist.
Mrs. Daniel was survived by her 3 daughters, Lisa A. Frost of Odessa, Terry K. Speer of Wichita, Kansas, and Tracye C. Gearhart of Midland, her son, D. Scott Daniel of Ft. Myers, Florida, her sister, Billie Gwen Maure of Crane TX and 6 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother.
Graveside services will be 10:00 AM, Monday, October 3, 2005 at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to Home Hospice.

Yoma Joyce Fowler
Odessa - Yoma Joyce Fowler 77 of Odessa passed away Wednesday, September 28, 2005 at Medical Center Hospital.
She was born October 10, 1927 in Coleman, Tx to Clarence West and Ruby Cate. She was a Christian Baptist and a homemaker. She united in marriage September 1, 1945 to Leroy G. Fowler in Stanton Texas.
Mom was preceded in death by her husband: Leroy Fowler on January 9, 1998, Parents:, Sister: Dora Henson; Brother: Raymond West; and Sister-In-Law: Luella West.
She is survived by her Sons: Garry L. Fowler and wife Jackie; Robert Paul Fowler and wife Sylvia both of Odessa, Daughter Betty Sue Fowler Trout and husband Tommy of Odessa, Brothers Ralph West of Granbury, Tx., Robert West and wife Darlene of Abilene, Tx Brother-in-law: Loren Henson of Abilene; Sister Evelyn Singleterry and husband Henry of Andrews, Tx; Sister-in-Law: Margaret West of Odessa, 11 Grandchildren, 21 Great-Grandchildren and 1 Great-Great Grandchild.

She was born January 14, 1956 in Odessa.

Phillip W. Linn on June 23, 1979 in Odessa.
Mrs. Linn was survived by her husband, Phillip W. Linn of Odessa, her 2 sons, Joshua Koonce and Robert Linn of Odessa, her daughter, Kay Gudgell of Hereford, Tx, her brother Sonny Koonce of Odessa, her sister Lynette Chesney of Odessa and 5 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley & Lori Koonce.
Family visitation will be Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be 9:00 AM, Saturday, October 1, 2005 at 1st Baptist Church with burial at Ector County/Rosehill cemetery.

ODESSA - Rodrigo Payen, 67 years of age passed away on September 28, 2005 at the Hospice House.
He was born on April 26, 1938 in Ojinaga, Mexico to Crispin and Socorro Payen. His mother preceded him in death.
He is survived by his sons; Rodrigo Payen Jr., Arturo Payen, and Javier Payen and his wife Celia all of Odessa, daughter; Dora Leia Payen of Alburqueque N.M., his father Crispin Payen of Odessa, brothers; Rodolfo Payen, Jose Payen, Hector Payen, Ruben Payen, all of Odessa, Alberto Martinez of Lubbock, sisters; Lydia Torres, Socorro Fierro, Maria Jesus Madrid and Rosa Lujan all of Odessa, 8 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren.
A Rosary will be recited tonight at 7 p.m. at Odessa Funeral Home Chapel.
Mass will be celebrated on Saturday October 1, 2005 at noon at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with the Reverend Joseph Uecker officiating.
Burial will follow at Rose Hill cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Rudy Lopez, Cruz Payen Junior Payen, Edwad Loya, Saul Garcia and Carlitos Fierro.
