Maxine Ione Wickson

The family of Maxine Ione Wickson will celebrate her years of Life at North Temple Baptist Church in Pecos on Oct. 14, 2005 at 1: 00 p.m.
Maxine was born in Blackwell, OK., to O.A. (Jack) Smith and Eva Lucille Smith on Feb. 11, 1926. She came to Pecos in 1930 where she lived her entire life.
Maxine drove for the Pecos Cab Co., during W.W.II at age 16. She was a waitress for many years, and an “Avon Lady” with many awards for top sales. At age 77, she was a proud participant of the Pecos Police Academy.
She was baptized at North Temple Baptist Church in 1975 and dearly loved the Lord and her church family.
Maxine was preceded in death by her father, O.A. (Jack) Smith, mother Eva Lucille Smith, a daughter Phyliss Ann, a brother, T.J. Smith of Lubbock, sisters Viola Hart of Pecos and Frankie Smith of Pecos.
Maxine is survived by 3 daughters, Barbara Dawdy of Slaton, Becky Iverson of Odessa, and Beverly Frazier of Sioux City, Ia, and a special niece Suzanne Alston of Toyah, two brothers, Paul Smith of Midland and Jimmy Smith of Houston, a sister Doris Tims of El Paso. There are 8 grandchildren, 15 great grand children, and 2 great great grandchildren.
Maxine donated her body to Medical Science at Texas Tech.

Bernice Opal Auld
Odessa - Bernice Opal Auld, age 92 of Odessa, passed away Sunday, October 2, 2005 at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa. She was born April 28, 1913 in Ringling, Oklahoma to her parents, Marvin P. & Daisy Chesnut Ritter.
She married
Olvin H. Auld in Ringling, Oklahoma on January 10, 1932. She was a homemaker and a member of Crescent Park Baptist Church. She was also a member of AARP, the Senior Center and Permian Garden Club. She and her husband helped begin the Northside Senior Center.
Mrs. Auld was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband, O.H. Auld.
She is survived by her daughter, Marlene Galloway of Odessa, her brother H.J. Ritter of Wichita Falls, TX, 3 grandchildren, Doyle R. Galloway & wife, Terri, Bryan W. Galloway, and Angela K. Galloway, 5 great grandchildren, Rev. Joel B. Galloway, Matthew R. Galloway, Erica K. Perritt, Holly A. Lyne, Michael G. Fewell, and 2 great great granddaughters, Hannah Leighanne Galloway and Melanie Shay Elizabeth Perritt, and her large extended family.
Family visitation will be 5-8 PM, Wednesday, October 5, 2005 at Hubbard-Kelly.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM, Thursday, October 6, 2005 at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Joel B. Galloway officiating. Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Park in Midland.

William E. ‘Bill’ Bailey
Odessa - William E. “Bill” Bailey 95 passed away Oct. 3, 2005 at Medical Center Hospital.
Graveside services will be held Thursday Oct. 6, 2005 at 3PM at Sunset Memorial Gardens, with Dr. David Mindel of First Christian Church officiating. Visitation will be at 5PM -7PM Wednesday Oct. 5, 2005 at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
Bill Bailey was born in Winters, Texas on June 1, 1910 to Viola and Thomas M. Bailey. Married Lois Bennett on April 16, 1934 in Odessa, Tx.
Bill was owner/operator of Bailey’s Mobil Service, then owner/operator of Bailey’s Auto Parts & Hardware. Retired in 1975 and went fishing, he loved to fish and travel. He was a southern gentleman and friend to all who knew him. A loving husband and father.
He is preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, two sisters and one granddaughter Slone Powell.
He is survived by his wife Lois of 72 years, one sister Winona Wiman of Lubbock, Tx, one son Billy W. Bailey and wife Sharon, one daughter Beverly Allison and husband John, all of Odessa, Tx. Two granddaughters, Debbie Van de Carr and husband Rick, Traci Delong and husband Mark, two great-grandchildren, Bailea Houge and Kohner Van de Carr, all of Ft. Worth, Tx.

Willie ‘Mamaw’ ‘Billie’ Henry
Odessa - Willie “Mamaw” “Billie” Henry, 91 years old, of Odessa, passed away early Saturday morning, October 8, 2005, at Hospice House.
Mrs. Henry was born in Clarksville, TX in 1913, and she and her husband, “Happy” Jack Henry moved to Odessa in 1939. Mrs. Henry was a beautician in Odessa for over 60 years.
She is survived by three children, Jack Henry and wife, Nancy of Odessa, Molly Colvin and husband, Butch of Odessa, Sonya Griswold and husband, Russell of Lubbock; seven grandchildren including Kym McCullough Puga, Kris Crow and ten great-grandchildren.
She was of the Christian faith and “Mamaw” will be missed.
Services will be held Tuesday, October 11, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Braswell officiating.

Robin Elaine (Scott) Williams
Odessa - Robin Elaine (Scott) Williams 41, passed away October 6, 2005 at her residence in Odessa.
Family will receive visitors from 6 to 8pm Monday at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Tuesday at Frank Wilson Chapel with Pastor Randall Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow at Rosehill cemetery.
Robin was a loving mother of two and very kind to everyone she met. She was born November 18, 1963 in Stanton. She had attended Odessa High School and was a member of Victory Temple Church.
She was preceded in death by her father Robert E. Scott.
She is survived by her daughters Bre’Onna Williams and Ray’Onna Williams both of Odessa, mother and stepfather Eva and Bill Byrd of Odessa, brother Robert Eddie Scott and wife Mary Kay of Odessa

Maria Abila Olivas
Odessa - Maria Abila Olivas, 74, of Phoenix Arizona, died Friday Sept. 30, 2005, at Banner Estrella Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona.
She was born January 18, 1931, in Barstow, Texas to Maximino Abila and Librada Aguilar. She was a resident of Odessa, Texas up until 1972. She then moved to Phoenix, Arizona. She was a Catholic.
Memorial Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday Oct. 11th at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by parents Maximino Abila and Librada Aguilar, sisters, Rosa Abila Sanchez, Gloria Abila Gilkison and brother Florencio Abila.
SURVIVORS: Daughters, Linda Olivas Torres of Phoenix AZ, Mary Lenor Olivas Matanane of Phoenix AZ; Sons, Maxcimino “Max” Olivas of Phoenix AZ, and Paul Olivas Jr of Moreno Valley CA, Son-In-Law, Robert “Seal” R. Torres; Brothers Antonio “Tony” A. Abila, Roberto “Chimino” Abila, Apolonio “Polo” Rodriguez, all of Odessa, Ted “Chim” Abila of Dallas; Sister Juana Abila of Phoenix, Arizona: 11 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
Maria has come back home to Odessa one last time. Her ashes will be taken to Portland Oregon where her journey will end.
Maria leaves behind many family and friends but the memories of “Going to Grandma’s” will never fade. The family hopes everyone will celebrate her life, but not mourn her passing.
Jack Oliver Whitling
COMANCHE - Jack Oliver Whitling, age 77 years, 6 months and 9 days of Comanche, Texas died Sunday, October 9, 2005 at his residence in Comanche County, Texas.
He was born March 30, 1928 in Kossuth, Pennsylvania to Percy Lee Whitling and Gertrude L. (Wassum) Whitling. He was a fifty-year member of the Masonic Lodge, a Past Master of Masons in Jal, New Mexico and member of Hope Lodge in Comanche. Also, a Past Patron of the Order of The Eastern Star and a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason. He retired in 1986 after thirty-four years with El Paso Natural Gas and Meridian Oil, Inc., living in Jal, New Mexico, Ozona, Texas, and Monahans, Texas. At retirement he moved from Monahans to Comanche, Texas. He loved fishing, woodworking, and playing softball.
He was a World War II veteran and served three years in the United States Army in the ETO with the 4th Armored Division, 10th Constabulary Squadran.
Mr. Whitling was united in marriage to Bonnie Bayne on November 16, 1950 in Van, Pennsylvania.
He is survived by his wife, Bonita Whitling of Comanche, Texas; two sons, Jack O. Whitling, Jr. and wife, Bessie of Wylie, Texas and Craig N. Whitling of Atlanta, Georgia, three grandsons, Jack O. Whitling, III (Trey) and William Bryce Whitling of Wylie, Texas, and Kris Johnson of Midland, Texas; two sisters, Margaret (Peg) Domer of Oil City, Pennsylvania, and Shirley Stokes of Odessa, Texas; one brother, Donald Whitling of Emlenton, Pennsylvania, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by five brothers and five sisters.
Family will receive friends at Comanche Funeral Home on Thursday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. with Masonic Rites to follow.
Graveside services will be at 12:00 p.m. Friday, October 14, 2005 at Dallas/Ft. Worth National cemetery in Dallas, Texas.

Luther Ralph Corley
ODESSA - Luther Ralph Corley age 79 years, passed from this life Monday Oct. 10, 2005 at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa.
Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Wednesday in the Frank W. Wilson Chapel with Rev. Ivy Shelton officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Corley was born March 11, 1926 to E.N. and Clara Corley in Young County. He moved to Terry County in 1929.
He served in the Army in World War II. He married
Argie Ree Adams December 20, 1947 in Brownfield. They moved to Odessa in 1948 where he worked for Wooley Tools for 29 years.
Mr. Corley was a long time member of Sherwood Baptist Church where he served as Deacon for many years.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife Argie; two children, a daughter Kathy Jolene Corley of Comfort, Tx, a son Alton Lee Corley and wife Paula of Ashville, North Carolina; one brother Carl E. Corley of Temple, Tx; three sisters Juanita Igo of Eldorado, Tx, Edna Chisum of Brownfield and Carolyn Corley of Lubbock; several nephews and nieces and many friends.
