ODESSA - Carol Frances Shaffer, 66, of Midland, a grocery store manager, died Friday, Nov. 25, 2005, at Medical Center Hospital.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. John’s Episcopal Church. Arrangements are by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
She was born in Dallas and was Episcopalian.

Gregory Miles Watson
ANDREWS - Gregory Miles Watson, infant, of Andrews, died Sunday, Nov. 27, 2005, at Odessa Regional Hospital.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today at Andrews North cemetery Babyland with the Rev. Alvin Petty officiating. Arrangements are by McNett Funeral Home.
He was born in Andrews.
SURVIVORS Mother, Shannon Watson of Andrews; grandparents, Juanita and Cory Thomason of Andrews and Leon Watson of Rankin; and great-grandparents, James and Edna Kimbrell of Andrews and John and Lola Watson of Rankin.

Margaret Lummas
Odessa - Margaret Lummas, 77, of Odessa, a homemaker, died Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2005, at Avalon Place.
Services are pending with Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

Robert W. ‘Bill’ Malone
MIDLAND - Robert W. “Bill” Malone, 49, of Midland, a businessman, died Wednesday, March 8, 2006.
Services will be at 1 p.m. today, March 13, 2006, at First Baptist Church in Midland with Dr. Gary Dyer officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Arrangements are by Ellis Funeral Home.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Midland.
SURVIVORS Daughter, Christian Cole Malone of Midland; parents, John and Ruby Malone of Midland; and brothers, Michael A. Malone of Scottsdale, Ariz., and David K. Malone of Seattle, Wash.

Betty Jo Turnbow
MIDLAND - Betty Jo Turnbow, 77, of Midland, died Friday, March 10, 2006, in Midland.
Services will be at 11 a.m. today at First Baptist Church Chapel with the Rev. Bob Hopkins officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Arrangements are by Ellis Funeral Home.
She was born in Abilene.
SURVIVORS Husband, Landon Harven Turnbow; sons, Byron Turnbow and Gerald Lynn Turnbow; brother, Benny Ray Jobe; sister, Catherine Newson; five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Woneta B. Hodnett
Odessa - Woneta B. Hodnett, 67, of Odessa, died Sunday, March 12, 2006, at Hospice House.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Services are under direction of Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
She was born in Mitchell.
SURVIVORS Brother, John Ward of Odessa; granddaughter, Laneta N. Ryan of Odessa; and one great-grandchild.

Pecos - Luis Serrano, 79, of Pecos, died Saturday, March 11, 2006, at Odessa Medical Center.
A rosary was to said at 7:30 p.m. today at Peaceful Garden Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Santa Rosa Catholic Church in Pecos. Burial will follow in Greenwood cemetery.
He was born in Marfa.
SURVIVORS Wife, Guadalupe Jimenez Serrano of Pecos; sons, Luis Serrano Jr. and Larry Serrano, both of Odessa, Lee Serrano of Pecos and Loy Serrano of Big Spring; daughter, Linda Ortiz of Pecos; brothers, Sebastian Serrano of Del Rio and Presidiano “Chito” Serrano of El Paso; sisters, Bacelisa Polanco of Del Rio and Margarita Vasquez of Tucson, Ariz.; 13 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Rising Star - Luis Tharp, 85, of Odessa, a maintenance man, died Saturday at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Rising Star cemetery in Rising Star. Arrangements are by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
He was born in Sipe Springs.
SURVIVORS Sons, Milton Tharp of Odessa and Douglas Tharp of Crowley; daughter, Roberta Owen of Gainesville; sisters, Ramona Dudas of Rising Star and Lorena Eastwood of Corpus Christi; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

COLORADO CITY - The Rev. Jake Chaney, 67, of Colorado City, a minister, died Saturday, March 11, 2006, in Lubbock.

Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Thursday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St Joseph’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Miguel Alcuino officiating. Burial will be at St Joseph’s cemetery. Arrangements are by Memorial Funeral Home of Fort Davis.
She was born in Alpine.
Survivors Sons, Paul Aguilar Jr. and Santiago Aguilar, both of Odessa, Adan Aguilar of Fort Davis, Freddy Aguilar and Luis Aguilar, both of Marfa, and Alonso Aguilar of Alpine; daughter, Eva Gonzalez of Marfa, Mary Carrasco of Presidio and Norma Rodriguez of Odessa; 31 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren.

Leslie G. ‘Les’ Hardin
Loves Park, Ill. - Leslie G. “Les” Hardin, 48, of Machesney Park, an ER trauma nurse for Rockford Memorial Hospital and OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center, died Friday, Jan. 13, 2006, at his residence.
Services were held Tuesday at Delehanty Funeral Home with the Rev. William Wentink officiating. Arrangements are by Delehanty Funeral Home of Loves Park, Ill.
He was born in Odessa. He was a Marine veteran.

Lake Brownwood - Betty McElyea Patterson, 76, of Lake Brownwood, formerly of Odessa, a homemaker, died Friday, Jan. 13, 2006, at Brownwood Regional Medical Center.
Memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at North Lake Community Church with the Rev. Richard E. Goodwin officiating. Arrangements are by Heartland Funeral Home of Early.
She was born in Ranger and was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors Son, Darrell McElyea of Odessa; daughters, Judith Finley of Snyder, Teresa Gaines of Holland and Karen Henson of May; brother, Kenneth Copeland of May; sister, June Bean of May; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Odessa - Donald Ray Poor, 71, of Odessa, a retired mechanic, died Sunday, Jan. 15, 2005, at Medical Center Hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Acres West Funeral Chapel with Derek Killam officiating. Burial will be at Ector County cemetery. Arrangements are by Acres West Funeral Chapel.
He was born in Eustis, Frontier County Nebraska. He was a member of the Odessa Christian Faith Center and was a Marine veteran.
Survivors Wife, Annis Poor; daughter, Connie Malone of Odessa; sister, Phyllis Armstrong of Andrews; and three grandchildren.
