Monahans - Jack Ward, 79, of Monahans, a barber, died Wednesday, January 11, 2006, at his residence.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Immanuel Baptist Church. Burial will be at Monahans Memorial cemetery with the Rev. Larry Bennett officiating. Arrangements are by Harkey Family Funeral Services.
He was born in Troy, Ala. He was an Army veteran.
Survivors Wife, Emma Ward of Monahans; sons, James Ward of Houston, Sam Ward of Kerrville, Cecil Watkins of Monahans, James Watkins of Tucson, Ariz., and Randy Watkins of Odessa; daughters, Pat Scott of Fort Worth, Cynthia Ward of Arlington and Sandy Ferguson of Kingsland; brothers, Buster Ward of Odessa and Doug Ward of Eldorado; sisters, Nettie Walker of Wilmington, N.C., Doris Kersh and Betty Taber, both of Malvern, Ark., Margie Clabrook of Abilene, Tina Marshall of Monahans and Audrey Wulf of Midland; 12 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Odessa - Manuel Navarrete, 64, of Odessa, died Thursday, Jan. 12, 2006, at Home Hospice in Midland.
Services are pending with Martinez-Smith Funeral Chapels & Crematory.

Alfred White
Odessa - Alfred White, 75, of Odessa died Thursday, Jan. 12, 2006, at Medical Center Hospital.
Services are pending with Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

Roy Franklin ‘Frank’ Baker
ODESSA - Roy Franklin “Frank” Baker, 91, of Odessa, a retired salesman, died Sunday, Sept. 18, 2005, at Parks Methodist Retirement Village.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church with the Rev. Kevin Bushart officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
He was born in Wilson County and was a member of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church.
SURVIVORS Daughter, Linda C. Baker of Midland: a grandchild; and a great-grandchild.

Agnes Elizabeth (Hicks) Boyer
Oklahoma City, OK - Agnes Elizabeth (Hicks) Boyer, 94, of Oklahoma City, died Friday, Sept. 16, 2005, at Bellevue Nursing Home in Oklahoma.
Services will be at 9 a.m. today at Mercer Adams Funeral Home of Bethany, Okla. Burial will be at 3 p.m. today at Memorial Park cemetery in Amarillo.
She was born in Canyon.
SURVIVORS Daughters, Myrtle Urton of Oklahoma City, and Peggy Galindo of Odessa; brother, Glenn Hicks of Alabama; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Antonio Espinoza
Seminole - Antonio Espinoza, 71, of Seminole, died Monday, Sept. 19, 2005, at Hospice Hospital.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, with the Rev. Angel Simental officiating. Burial will be at Gaines County cemetery. Arrangements are by Boyer Funeral Home.
He was born in Mexico.
SURVIVORS Wife, Maria Espinoza of Seminole; sons, Adolfo Espinoza and Marco Espinoza, both of Mexico, Martin Espinoza and Manuel Espinoza, both of Seminole; daughters, Sonia Espinoza of Odessa, Mary Vasquez, Tonya Espinoza and Guadalupe Espinoza, all of Seminole; brother, Demetrio Espinoza of Mexico; sisters, Maria Zamarripa and Lupe Espinoza, both of Mexico; 40 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Kenneth Lee Norris Sr.
ODESSA - Kenneth Lee Norris Sr., 72, of Odessa, a multi-business owner, died Saturday, Sept. 17, 2005, at Medical Center Hospital.
Services will be at 4 p.m. today at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Braswell officiating. Military graveside services will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
He was born in Henderson.
SURVIVORS Sons, Kenneth Lee Norris Jr. of Sumner, Walter Jeffry “Bubba” Norris of Hobbs, N.M., and John Dwain Norris of Lovington, N.M.; daughter, Emily Kay Wilson of Hobbs, N.M.; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today at St. James Catholic Church. Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Saturday at the church with the Rev. Hugh Thekkel officiating. Burial will be at Gaines County cemetery. Arrangements are by Boyer Funeral Home.
She was born in Gregory and was Catholic.
SURVIVORS Husband, Demetrio Castillo of Seminole; sons, Felipe Hernandez of Arlington, and J.R. Castillo and Nick Castillo, both of Seminole; daughters, Janie Hernandez of Seagraves, Olga Mares of Seminole and Martha Castillo of Andrews; 13 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Hobbs, N.M. - Irene Cates, 81, of Odessa, owner of Cates Boot Shop, died Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2005, at Medical Center Hospital.
Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. today at Trinity Lutheran Church with the Revs. Katherine Burck and Bob Bratcher. Arrangements are by Chapel of Hope Funeral Home.
She was born in Rush City, Minn., and was a member Trinity Lutheran Church.
SURVIVORS Son, Robert Allen “Tater” Cates of Hobbs, N.M.; daughter, Linda Parker of Odessa; brother, Raymond Lundquist of Rochester, Minn.; sister, Frances Kurkowski of Fredrick, Wis.; and three grandchildren.

ODESSA - Loyce Marleen Griffin, 53, of Odessa, a teacher, died Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2005 at Hospice House.
Services are scheduled at 2 p.m. Sunday at First United Methodist Church with burial following at Sunset Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Terry Tamplen and Rev. Donnie Williams will officiate. Arrangements are by Frank Wilson Funeral Home.
She was born in Beaumont and was a member of First United Methodist Church.
SURVIVORS Husband, Gary Griffin of Odessa; son, James Joseph “JJ” Griffin of Odessa; mother, Jane Sheffield of Odessa; brother, Jim Sheffield of Lorena; and sister, Mary Lewis of McKinney.

Andrews - Connie Mae Underwood, 89, of Andrews, secretary for the First Baptist Church of Andrews, died Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2005, at Permian Regional Medical Center in Andrews.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at First Baptist Church with the Revs. Jeff Donnell and Ivy Shelton officiating. Burial will be at Andrews Old cemetery. Arrangements are by McNett Funeral Home.
She was born in Mitchell County and was a charter member of the First Baptist Church.
Survivors Husband, Jim Underwood of Andrews; son, James Underwood of Andrews; sisters, Ruby Walker of Lubbock, Ila Fay Dement of Pasadena, and Louis Irwin of Odessa; and one grandchild.

Odessa - J.L. Adams, 73, of Odessa, died Monday, March 13, 2006, at Crane Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center.
